Unfair, admittedly, but not as unfair as it should be. If we’re going to pile on, let’s pile on.

I was actually hoping you wouldn’t find this…
JetBoy on January 25, 2008 at 3:20 PM
Awesome, paulnuts came through nicely.
Spirit of 1776 on January 25, 2008 at 3:20 PM
haha, thats so wrong.
trailortrash on January 25, 2008 at 3:22 PM
John, want a lesson in economics? Go to an emergency room on any night after 9 pm. in Los Angeles or San Diego. That sucking sound is our tax dollars being used to give free medical care to illegal immigrants…now go to the schools in the LA, Santa Ana or San Diego, and listen…that sucking sound is the sound of our tax dollars being used to educate illegal immigrants children…now go down to the post office, hear that sound? That sucking sound is the money being shipped back to Mexico, after being earned here and not taxed, then not being spent here.
John, walk out of your office, every border state and near border state is the same.
There is your economic lesson…
right2bright on January 25, 2008 at 3:23 PM
Proof that airheads do think alike!
pilamaye on January 25, 2008 at 3:23 PM
hilarious, until I saw it was a RP job, but none-the-less, mC deserves lots of piling.
jimmer on January 25, 2008 at 3:23 PM
OK, did anyone here understand Ron Paul’s question?
bnelson44 on January 25, 2008 at 3:24 PM
Sorry, he doesn’t speak RINO.
fossten on January 25, 2008 at 3:25 PM
The Mutton and the Marshmallow. Priceless!
RushBaby on January 25, 2008 at 3:25 PM
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Rode Werk on January 25, 2008 at 3:26 PM
Excellent. You should write this up as an add for Mitt!
NTWR on January 25, 2008 at 3:27 PM
Heh. Awesome.
Except for the tagline, of course. I’d rather get stuck with a typical sleazy politician (McCain) than a certified nutter like RP. Sleazy politicians are entirely predictable, and therefore safe.
Splashman on January 25, 2008 at 3:27 PM
Funny stuff.
Geronimo on January 25, 2008 at 3:28 PM
He wants to know if McCain would keep the President’s Working Group on Financial Markets in tact, what its responsibilities would be under President McCain, and if we’d know how they’re being involved in our markets.
amerpundit on January 25, 2008 at 3:29 PM
Paulnuts FTW! All hail Austrian
fuerhersEconomics!Cuffy Meigs on January 25, 2008 at 3:33 PM
Yes and the actual answer is this:
“They” will know what I mean…
right2bright on January 25, 2008 at 3:33 PM
I am so glad you posted this, because this revealed John McCain, the scholar and intellectual heavyweight, to the world. The format did not lend itself to others reacting to responses like this, but even Ron Paul couldn’t believe the lack of depth St. John had with his rambling, grasping of wannabe’s and hasbeens in order to shield him from having to ever again answer another question about the economy, financial markets, or stating how many quarters make a dollar.
kflynn on January 25, 2008 at 3:34 PM
I don’t understand the question either.
PolitiNOOB on January 25, 2008 at 3:37 PM
HEEEEhehehehe! Well he made a personally beleiver outa me.
heh.
ronsfi on January 25, 2008 at 3:39 PM
So, ya’ll don’t like McCain around here, huh? Hehe.
Ian on January 25, 2008 at 3:39 PM
Thank you. I really didn’t understand what he was asking when he asked it.
bnelson44 on January 25, 2008 at 3:40 PM
Do you?
Spirit of 1776 on January 25, 2008 at 3:40 PM
I suppose the “Rule” doesn’t apply to him then?
ronsfi on January 25, 2008 at 3:40 PM
No problem.
amerpundit on January 25, 2008 at 3:41 PM
“Thank you South Carolina”
Yes, indeed. I was amazed with Paul’s question, which was quite coherent though obscure. But I was even more amazed with McCain’s response. I’ve said that I can deal with a McCain nomination if it comes to pass, but after I saw that last night… it makes it tougher to accept, I must say. It wasn’t just bad, it was completely terrible. Almost as bad as Ms. South Carolina. Almost.
Wineaholic on January 25, 2008 at 3:41 PM
After following your link it looks like Ron Paul may have been asking a question relating to a conspiracy theory. Is there something about that going around the Paulnuts?
bnelson44 on January 25, 2008 at 3:42 PM
Actually, it reminds me more of the rambling Reagan answer in the 1984 debate with Mondale.
Attila (Pillage Idiot) on January 25, 2008 at 3:42 PM
Ah, so Paul is asking Mac if hell bring more transparency to this particular group?
PolitiNOOB on January 25, 2008 at 3:42 PM
Heh, you noticed that huh?
How ya doin Ian? We miss you around here.
BacaDog on January 25, 2008 at 3:42 PM
Oh, it’s Executive Order 12631. Why didn’t he just say so. Only Fred would have had the malkins to say “What the heck is that, some society of goldbugs?”
Instead he goes with the teen beauty pagent approach. Awesome work from the Paultoons.
(Mitt probably has lunch with the guys on that financial group on Fridays.)
pedestrian on January 25, 2008 at 3:44 PM
I didn’t understand the question either, but McCain’s answer showed his ignorance and inability to clarify things. It’s like “I don’t need to know anything, I just going to rely on some “other” smart people to make hard decision. I’m just going to blame them if that’s not going to work.”
mr.nice on January 25, 2008 at 3:45 PM
Heh. There’s a shocker.
As you read, it’s a theory that the WGFM is a scheme to manipulate U.S. markets if the market crashes. The theory goes that they’d use government funds to buy stocks.
Paul’s been interesting about this for a bit, writing about it here.
amerpundit on January 25, 2008 at 3:47 PM
Select quote:
amerpundit on January 25, 2008 at 3:49 PM
With Paul it is always about a conspiricy theory of one sort or another.
bnelson44 on January 25, 2008 at 3:52 PM
I don’t like any of our choices to be honest.
Good! And yourself?
Ian on January 25, 2008 at 3:53 PM
I miss Fred.
ChrisM on January 25, 2008 at 3:54 PM
Thanks for posting Allah…
I take back all the things I’ve said about you…
ok, not really.
You’re next piece will be about Paul supporters, as usual (not about Paul’s stance on the issues).
But it was nice to see this side of you nonetheless.
Fed Up on January 25, 2008 at 3:56 PM
but here’s a better version of it:

especially the ending…
Fed Up on January 25, 2008 at 3:58 PM
Ha so we’re co-opting Ron Paul propoganda now, eh?
Vizzini on January 25, 2008 at 3:59 PM
No shortage of flaws certainly.
Spirit of 1776 on January 25, 2008 at 3:59 PM
McCain doesn’t understand economics so well. He likes nice round numbers. For instance: one million (the number of years he thinks our troops should stay in Iraq, “if necessary.”) Come to think of it… maybe he should just answer every question with “make it a hundred!” Or with his “I’m ready” fists.
Mark Jaquith on January 25, 2008 at 3:59 PM
right. half the people piling on here think the question paul asked was about TEH MESCIXAN INVASHUN!!!!!!! inasmuch as if you just show them a picture of mccain they start wailing that mccain is a TRATER RINO HOO SOLD US OUT TO TEH MESCIXAN IVADING HORDES!!!!
they couldn’t answer paul’s question any better than mccain did.
jummy on January 25, 2008 at 4:29 PM
That’s the most meaningful contribution RP has made in this campaign.
SECOND LOOK AT RON PAUL FOR CRAZY UNCLE!!
CliffHanger on January 25, 2008 at 4:51 PM
jummy
You’re right, but at least I can use punctuation and capitalization in my paragraphs.
Rode Werk on January 25, 2008 at 4:51 PM
Seriously, that ad was fricken awesome!
CliffHanger on January 25, 2008 at 4:53 PM
So, naturally, we lack the Absolute Moral Authority to venture an opinion on the quality of his answer.
TexasDan on January 25, 2008 at 5:00 PM
That girl is so hot she just may make Mccain tolerable!
Mccain/Miss Teen SC 2008!
HaraldHardrada on January 25, 2008 at 5:01 PM
Look at McCain’s expression at the end! He seems to be thinking: “Even I can’t believe that pile of cow caca, I just said!”
ToddonCapeCod on January 25, 2008 at 5:07 PM
You could do the same thing to Willard Romney, “if you will..”
Chakra Hammer on January 25, 2008 at 5:20 PM
Oh. My. Gawd. That was like, sooo funny.
And I’m agreeing with HH !?/
sleepy-beans on January 25, 2008 at 5:22 PM
McCain is a BS artist. He is under the mistaken impression that leading a political party is like leading a military organization. In the military, he doesn’t have to know anything and the people around him can’t complain even when it’s clear he is clueless. In the real world of politics, it don’t work like that McGrouchy.
csdeven on January 25, 2008 at 6:17 PM
For his advanced age, not a bad answer.
koolbrease on January 26, 2008 at 5:59 PM
No. Did anyone understand the answer?
(I especially like the confused look on his face at the end. Even he doens’t know what he just said.)
