Former Fred aide: Boycott Chuck Norris
posted at 2:09 pm on January 25, 2008 by Allahpundit
It’ll go nowhere, partly because Fred’s core constituency isn’t the sort to muster incandescent rage about creationism and partly because no one wants to deny themselves the pleasure of a late night “Walker, Texas Ranger” re-run during a drunken stupor. Even so, it has the makings of a dandy action-comedy flick. Starring Chuck as a celebrity bounty hunter or something who hits the trail for some dark horse candidate and finds himself in the crosshairs of a rival campaign when the dark horse surges ahead in the polls. A plot is hatched to have him bumped off — ideally by ninjas — and an “Invasion USA” tour de force ensues, culminating in a standoff involving mortars, RPGs, and Chuck and his archenemy fighting hand to hand on a tank outside campaign headquarters on election night. The script writes itself.
I’m starting a boycott of Chuck Norris because he has endorsed a presidential candidate and supports ideas that are far out of the mainstream. Specifically:
* He’s endorsed a candidate who says that he does not believe in evolution.
* He’s endorsed a candidate who called for the isolation of AIDS patients – long after the Centers for Disease Control determined that the virus was not spread by casual contact. Even this year, the candidate declined to recant those views.
I want you to join me in boycotting all of the products that Chuck Norris endorses and some of the national companies that run advertisements on the show in which he starred and currently rerunning on the USA cable network, Walker, Texas Ranger. I also ask that you tell these companies why you are boycotting them.
Exit question one: Any ‘Heads getting in on this? No, right? Exit question two: Whom do we get to play the villain in the movie?

Heh. You really took your English teacher’s admonition to ‘write what you know’ to heart, didn’t you?

How do you boycott something that has died (Norris’ career)?
thegreatbeast on January 25, 2008 at 2:15 PM
Christopher Walken as the Rival candidate.

Ron Paul? (as the villain)
q2600 on January 25, 2008 at 2:16 PM
Ummmmmm, Walker, Texas Ranger in a drunken stupor….
During my tour in the Navy stationed in Japan, my division used to watch Japanese Anime cartoons on T.V. while listening to Rock and Roll on our Sony Walkmans. Good times.

Is this serious? I mean…really serious?
nailinmyeye on January 25, 2008 at 2:17 PM
Is it a boycott or washedupoldmanmediocreactor-cott?
EJDolbow on January 25, 2008 at 2:18 PM
OK, I’ll NOT wipe the dust off my unused TotalGym as an act of solidarity to the Chuck-cott cause.
robblefarian on January 25, 2008 at 2:18 PM
Exit question #1, err, no, and not for the reason you think. I may be an oddball but I never liked anything Chuck Norris did anyway. How can I boycott something I wouldn’t watch anyway?
Exit question #2, are you asking about Stallone or McCain? I happen to think that McCain would make the much better villian. Kinda in the same mode as the Joker.

No wonder Fred’s campaign was such a mess with idiots like this working there.
Besides that at this point in Chuck’s life do you REALLY think he needs the money?
bj1126 on January 25, 2008 at 2:20 PM
Well, Norris has made Cracked’s list of 5 Movie Martial Artists that Lost a Deathmatch with Dignity. Content warning, as the article is sprinkled with salty language.
Slublog on January 25, 2008 at 2:20 PM
Messed up the title. It’s “Lost a Deathmatch TO Dignity.” Considering some of the names on the list, it’s pretty true.
Slublog on January 25, 2008 at 2:22 PM
No.
mikeyboss on January 25, 2008 at 2:22 PM
LOL wow, what a douche bag. I hope he is better at finding a job and Fred was campaigning.

All McCain needs is a little white cat.

I guess I have been inadvertently boycotting this talentless buffoon my whole life as the few times I have seen his work, I am left scratching my head as to the low-IQers that enjoy this boring nonsense. His politics = his acting ability.

More sour grapes from Fred Heads? Say it ain’t so!

There is no such thing as pleasure when one is that drunk.
Dusty on January 25, 2008 at 2:25 PM
Why should we listen to someone who brought Fred to defeat ?
I swear I have never seen such stupid running of campaigns as I have this year. Both Fred’s and Mitt’s Campaigns have been run by idiots.
Fred had no chance with his late start to win Iowa and jumping in there was a huge mistake. Fred should have ran right to South Carolian and offered himself as the “Southern alternative to to moderates”. Instead he threw away his chance for a third place finish in Iowa.
Like wise Mitt was stupid to run everywhere. His campaign was like Ed Muskies 1972 Campaign (crying included). Mitt should have gone all out to win New Hampshire and left Iowa to others. By his running everywhere he weakened himself in places he had a better chance.
Its a shame Huck and McCains people seem to have a greater sence on how to run campaigns than many of the others.

Walker Texas Ranger lever!
doubleplusundead on January 25, 2008 at 2:27 PM
Chuck Norris doesn’t allow boycotts. He forces people to not watch his movies.
(or so I’ve heard) heh
Utah Boy on January 25, 2008 at 2:29 PM
Okay, now this is just dumb.
SimplyKimberly on January 25, 2008 at 2:30 PM
Sounds like someone obviously thinks that Chuck Norris’s only background is just doing infomercials for exercise equipment.
Pity the fool.
pilamaye on January 25, 2008 at 2:31 PM
I don’t get it. Most Fred Thompson supporters are conservatives. A good percentage of conservatives are Christian. Most Christians do NOT believe in evolution, at least not by itself.
Shouldn’t this dude have been a spokesman for Christopher Hitchens instead?
Gregor on January 25, 2008 at 2:31 PM
I liked Chuck in “Way of the Dragon”. The gorilla suit was precious, too.
Dusty on January 25, 2008 at 2:31 PM
This Fredhead will not be joining the boycott. Chuck’s acting skills are actually way better than his political judgment (which is pretty amazing when you think about it)
BuzzCrutcher on January 25, 2008 at 2:31 PM
How long to you plant to stick to your assertion that Mitt’s campaign is being run by “idiots”?
Lost a deathmatch to dignity is a perfect way to describe some of the more overwrought Fred Heads.
Buy Danish on January 25, 2008 at 2:32 PM
Tell me that when he wins a few more “golds”
William Amos on January 25, 2008 at 2:33 PM
Darrel Ng – A waste of internet space. A hypocrite as well. A “Free speech is fine until it crosses my own personal line” attitude. Welcome to liberalism Mr. Ng. Please exit the stage.
As for question #2:
Christopher Walken as the Rival candidate.
Jack M. on January 25, 2008 at 2:15 PM
I agree. Walken is always the best ‘candidate’ for this type of job.
SwampRat on January 25, 2008 at 2:34 PM
This is really dependent on the source of said drunken stupor. If the source is a beer along the lines of Budweiser, Pabst Blue Ribbon, or Lonestar, straight out of the can, then yes, you have a point. (At some point during the show, we will undoubtedly yell “Free Bird … play Free Bird!!”, forgetting we’re not at a concert).
But if said drunken stupor is produced by the consumption of something like, say, Bombay and Tonic, then we’re going straight to ‘E’ Channel to see some celebrity gossip or some tawdry ‘E’ True Hollywood Story.
We have standartds to keep, you know.

Um….not sure how the boycott idiot got involved with the Fred campaign, as he doesn’t sound anything like the Fredheads I know….self included…
But then again, there are no laws against being an idiot and this guy proves it with his ideas.
Fuzzball on January 25, 2008 at 3:03 PM
Chuck can endorse whomever he wants. I still enjoy his acting.
tgillian on January 25, 2008 at 3:05 PM
Somebody tell this guy I started this boycott about fifteen years ago. I’ve just been biding my time.
emailnuevo on January 25, 2008 at 3:06 PM
I bet Huck and Chuck are age-day theory men.
If this guy really is associated with Fred’s campaign it’s pretty sad.

I have a friend who dubbed herself “Walker, tequila Walker” on MySpace.

And I was just going to sit down all weekend and watch my “Chuck Norris” 32 hour marathon…
BTW, you don’t boycott Chuck, you MANcott him.
right2bright on January 25, 2008 at 3:27 PM
Um, of all the things to criticize Norris and Huckabee over, this isn’t one of them.
2Brave2Bscared on January 25, 2008 at 3:29 PM
“Walker Texas Ranger” – must see TV on Saturday nights!
Hilts on January 25, 2008 at 3:29 PM
They hit on four out of five.
David Carradine has lost nothing and Kill Bill kicked a thousand different kinds of ass, especially Carradine’s performance as Bill.
Other than that they were right on the money.

You’re on FIAH today! Thanks for the laughs. :)

It’s Friday, Bombay’s in 25 minutes…countdown.
right2bright on January 25, 2008 at 3:38 PM
Darrell Ng was the aide who did the daily video updates from Iowa. These mostly consisted of him videoing himself out in the cold with absolutely no one else in the shot. For example, this tour of Fred’s bus and the press van. (No wonder the media weren’t friendlier!)

Ditto with one caveat…MOST actors’ skills are better than their political insight.
ihasurnominashun on January 25, 2008 at 4:06 PM
No we don’t need to “isolate AIDS patients”, but we do need to isolate every nut job who is “offended” by every asinine remark they hear! Get a life bozo!
Confederate on January 25, 2008 at 4:08 PM
Geez, I’ve been boycotting him my whole life and didn’t even know it. Only thing I like less than anything by Chuck would be anything by Jean Clod Van Dam, or whatever his name is.
Masscon on January 25, 2008 at 4:30 PM
It is clear there is more evidence of devolution than evolution. Open your door. Turn on the TV. The Democratic Party.
So, I do agree with Huckledoodledoo on the Word, pro-life and creationism. But, vote for him? No.
saved on January 25, 2008 at 5:04 PM
pffft. BTW, how old is Chuck? He holds his age well.
johnnyU on January 25, 2008 at 5:22 PM
Correct, his political views are both well known, and either respected, or funny enough to not be offensive (depending on your viewpoint).
And if you’re really planning on boycotting an actor for his political views, I think you’ll be a long time working your way down the list before you get to the low level of offense that Norris may generate.
Hmm, we’d need a plausible political campaign leader who is an actor, who has some free time now for this project.
Huckabee? :)
gekkobear on January 25, 2008 at 5:52 PM
How can I boycott movies and TV shows I would never watch anyway (except to make fun of)?
packsoldier on January 25, 2008 at 6:51 PM
Ng should’ve been content to watch Chuck get his ass kicked, over and over.
Serr8d on January 26, 2008 at 11:05 AM
Chuck is a great man. This is just stupid. A waste of time and energy. I disagree with his decision on Huck, but Chuck is just misguided here. I don’t think we should be moving in the direction of trying to boycott or destroy every single person that disagrees with us. Leave that for the Marxists, Fascists and RINO’s.
