Video: How Fredheads mourn

Eerily similar to how I imagined See-Dubya taking the news about Fred on Tuesday. Except that Jackie’s not a true Fredhead, though, is he? A true Fredhead would have lit the match.

Yes, the eBay auction’s for real.

Hard to put a voice to my frustration.

He’s the happiest “mo-fo” in the country right now..lol

Tim Zank on January 24, 2008 at 11:43 AM

$810 bucks already.

frreal on January 24, 2008 at 11:46 AM

Heh. I hate to laugh, but where he said “for a minute I thought you were going to say you were disappointed in Fred Thompson”, that had me rolling.

Spirit of 1776 on January 24, 2008 at 11:47 AM

“With ape-like enthusiasm” Great stuff.

Little too close to home, however.

Weight of Glory on January 24, 2008 at 11:48 AM

The questions and answers section is a riot.

Q: Sorry bout old Fred Thompson!! Im an American but living in London…you wont ship overseas? Jan-23-08
A: If you’re a real American, then why the hell are you living in London? Yeah, we’ll ship overseas. We love foreigners– THE ONES WHO WANT TO BUY…more

JVelez on January 24, 2008 at 11:57 AM

Wonder what ol’ Jackie is gonna do with 10 months left till the election. He dont seem the kind of guy to just set back and let ol’ Hillary or that Obama fella just walk away with the win. He’ll have to find a new sheriff to support… but who???

Always Right on January 24, 2008 at 12:02 PM

810 dollars?!!? allah you can buy 3 iphones for that.

Lance Murdock on January 24, 2008 at 12:02 PM

for what it’s worth, i think they’re actual republicans. i don’t think progressives are capable of being as sympathetic in their humor. if the red state guys were progressives, they’d have had jackie boyles supporting huckabee or a draft don black candidacy or something.

I think they are democrats. I haven’t seen anything to make me think otherwise. They are poking fun at the “stereotypical” moron republican voter.

lorien1973 on January 24, 2008 at 12:51 PM

I beg to differ. With Fred!’s retirement, Mitt Romney is “the happiest MoFo” in the country right now.

You’re both wrong. It’s csdeven.

RushBaby on January 24, 2008 at 12:59 PM

Think how much that portrait will be worth when Fred! becomes VP.

“TO CHARITY, TO CHARITY!”

Mark Jaquith on January 24, 2008 at 1:02 PM

$830 bucks so far.

I’d rather see that money given to Romney lol.

CABE on January 24, 2008 at 1:27 PM

From the auction Q&A:

Q: Does the yellow dog mean you are really a Democrat? Jan-23-08
A: What the hell is this, the damn Da Vinci Code? Yeah, and just off-canvas Fred Thompson’s got an albino in the trunk of his car. Can’t an old man draw a purdy puppy without everybody gettin all Truther on him? FIRE WON’T MELT DOGS

On the whole, leave it to Jackie and Dunlap to help those of us coping with Fred’s withdrawl with more of their unique brand of humor. I know it made me feel better.

Lastly, I don’t know what these guys political affiliation is, but if you watch all of their videos, they give it to Dems just a good as anyone else. I think their that very rare breed of modern political satirists that actually:

A. Aren’t partisan hacks.

and

B. Are actually funny.

“I counld’a put a bigger sign in my yard.”

Yeah, wouldn’t matter. The voting never made it to Ohio.

They are poking fun at the “stereotypical” moron republican voter.

You have read IMAO, have you not? There are plenty of conservatives with a sense of humor about themselves. I think that it’s likely they’re in the conservative community, since they seem to have a more nuanced and accurate view of who conservatives are then, say, Stephen Colbert. If they’re not, then they’re both decent and smart, which is better than you get from a lot of people in entertainment.

calbear on January 24, 2008 at 2:05 PM

Those guys, they’re alright.

PolitiNOOB on January 24, 2008 at 2:15 PM

Thanks for the smile and near giggle that I did not expect to have on this dreary, depressing day.

Those guys are “ready for prime time”. One of the networks ought to give them a weekly half hour show.

LegendHasIt on January 24, 2008 at 2:34 PM

A true Fredhead would have lit the match.

Nawwww. A true Fredhead would burn all the other candidates. They call it scorched earth politics. If Fred can’t have it, nobody except the dems can.

csdeven on January 24, 2008 at 3:04 PM

Q: Ya think Fred’d think about giving the money to a real patriot like RON PAUL? Jan-24-08

A: I think Fred would sooner roll the money into a tight pellet, sop it in petroleum jelly, and cram it up his own ass. But that’s just him. No offense, Ron Paul Guy. That’d be classic Fred.

ROFLMAO!

TheBigOldDog on January 24, 2008 at 3:49 PM

It’s up to $910.00

Not bad… not bad at all.

Nineball on January 24, 2008 at 3:56 PM

I did a little snooping around and this is what they really look like http://www.travisandjonathan.com/show.html

I went to MTSU the same time these guys did. I still live here though. I think these guys are conservative as well.

robblefarian on January 24, 2008 at 4:41 PM

…also, I used to bartend at Gentleman Jim’s. The original one–not the one on Greenland.

robblefarian on January 24, 2008 at 4:41 PM

Fred Thompsons charity of his choice,I wouldn’t
be surprised if Rush bought it!

canopfor on January 24, 2008 at 5:48 PM

It’s up to $1000. And, yes, I love the Red State Update humor.

Theophile on January 24, 2008 at 6:07 PM
