“Gunmen,” huh? Would those be the gunmen who run the Palestinian government?
Tens of thousands of Palestinians on foot and on donkey carts poured into Egypt from Gaza Wednesday after masked gunmen used land mines to blast down a seven-mile barrier dividing the border town of Rafah.
The border breach was a dramatic protest against the closure of the impoverished Palestinian territory imposed last week by Israel.
Jubilant men and women crossed unhindered by border controls over the toppled corrugated metal along sections of the barrier, carrying goats, chickens and crates of Coca-Cola. Some brought back televisions, car tires and cigarettes and one man even bought a motorcycle. Vendors sold soft drinks and baked goods to the crowds.
Update: Jihad Watch has a report that Hamas’ effort to cut through the wall had been going on for months.

Yeah, they allow them to come over to Egypt now, but Egypt doesn’t want the Palestinians to stay. It would be quite neighborly of Egypt to allow assylum to Palestinians, but they won’t. They don’t want Palestinians, but they expect Israel to put up with them.
All of the surrounding countries are like that. Jordan wouldn’t accept Palestinians, nor Syria or Lebanon. Egypt wouldn’t, but they expect Israel to put up with the Palestinian animals with grace.
Israel should have put up a double fence. If Egypt wants to allow Palestinians citizenship, by all means. . . but that border must be secure to keep the worst of the bad militants out.

Man those Joos are crafty. They got those pesky Palestinians turned around!
JasonG on January 23, 2008 at 10:55 AM
Why those crazy Palestinians. Now we know what they’ve been after this whole time!
MadisonConservative on January 23, 2008 at 10:55 AM
Not the infidel drink Coca-Cola!
Formulated by Zionists to depress the libido of posthumous jihadis.

I like how vendors set up shops and start selling baked goods. That’s entrepreneurial, right there.
Nobody wants the Palestinians. The entire “Arab Nation” or whatever treats them like lepers.
Which explains why they expect Israel to keep them.

Yeah, those poor impoverished Palestinians whose leaders have been given billions of dollars to improve their lives and instead they spend it on killing Jews. Notice Hamas would rather blow up a wall than stop killing Jews and negotiate with Israel.
Rather telling, yes?

I blame Bush. And the Jews.

Wasn’t that particular wall built by the Egyptians? How long will they allow this entrepeneurial happiness to continue before they say “Enough!” and put the wall back up?
Frozen Tex on January 23, 2008 at 11:14 AM
The wall separating the Palestinians from Egypt is a human rights violation and a naked land grab by the Jews.
tneloms on January 23, 2008 at 11:19 AM
It’s interesting you never hear anyone publically talk about how the rest of the Arab world wants nothing to do with the ‘Palestinans’.
CP on January 23, 2008 at 11:29 AM
Instead of spending all of their time planting seeds of hatred in one generation after the other, perhaps the Palestinians would fare better in their little corner of the world if they actually planted seeds in the ground to grow some food.
They do have dirt and water, don’t they?
Oh nevermind, they’re too busy teaching 10 year olds how to clean and fire an AK-47.

Palestinian gunmen = Average Palestinian
Instead of turning Gaza into a resort, taking money from the rest of the world to get on their feet and making a future for their children, these low-lifes use the geographical situation to fire rockets and kill innocents in the country that gave them the land.
No Arab nation has given them anything, except uses them for their political jihad. Sounds a bit like the Dems and Black America.

Allowed it? Allowed it to happen? They blew up the wall. Did someone forget the key?
ej_pez on January 23, 2008 at 11:42 AM
Haven’t they done this before? I have a distinct feeling of deja vu.

They’re just doing the jobs that Egyptians won’t do!
ronsfi on January 23, 2008 at 12:03 PM
So it’s ok for Egypt to put up a wall on their border, but not us on our southern border? Oh, the inhumanity!!!! Human Rights Watch should go there and protest the wall.
JustTruth101 on January 23, 2008 at 12:11 PM
To think what would happen if some illegals on the US/Mexican border decided to blow up the fence…
pdxguy on January 23, 2008 at 12:17 PM
…oh wait….what fence?
pdxguy on January 23, 2008 at 12:17 PM
The U.S. Government would stumble over themselves applogizing for not creating preformed holes. Then the lawsuits alledgeing forced use of explosives to facilitate a misdemeanor would fly.
ronsfi on January 23, 2008 at 12:35 PM
A little less referring to our fellow human beings as subhumans or “animals” as you put it. Calling an entire nation of people that term is beyond the pale. I can’t imagine this is the type of discourse Hot Air wants to be known for allowing.

franksalterego on January 23, 2008 at 1:59 PM
Do you mean they should blow it up? Or are only Muslims allowed to “protest” via blowing things (and people) up?
calbear on January 23, 2008 at 2:53 PM
Where did that guy get that red HP sweatshirt/jacket thing? Smells like Rage Boy, Jr. to me.
I question the timing.
