Even if Bill is not alienating actual voters, there’s still a bright side. He’s surely alienating reporters, no?

I don’t think he’s losing his cool for an instant, though; what he says is too carefully parsed to be spontaneous. If he pauses, it’s to figure out how to segue to the talking point of the day. For example, the following bit from a clip on tonight’s news was a very carefully designed double barrel shot. He lowers expectations for Hillary while insinuating the Obama’s race won’t help him elsewhere:

As far as I can tell In our side, neither Senator Obama nor Hillary have lost votes because of their race or gender. They are getting votes, to be sure, because of their race or gender. That’s why people tell me Hillary doesn’t have a chance to win here.

That’s no off the cuff remark.

He starts wandering like a lost ball in high weeds until he latches on a way to spin it back and never address the question. She is too intimidated to press the question and given his position, (ex-president), he demands unaccountability in an interview.

He wanders because he is lying and looking for an out – in this case irrelevant farm workers union and the hapless reporter. The Mike Wallace syndrome. He is very dangerous……no focus, no accountability, and willingness to say anything.
