Time wonders: Isn’t Mitt’s reference to “Who Let The Dogs Out” a “macaca moment”?

posted at 4:31 pm on January 23, 2008 by Allahpundit

Pity poor Ana, who’s tried before to get a scandal going about Romney but is stuck with a subject who won’t even swear. She tried pushing that story over the summer about the Romney family putting their dog in a portable kennel and strapping it to the roof of their car, but it expired quietly once the mandatory jokes about the highway stop scene in “National Lampoon’s Vacation” had all been made. So she’s trying again. Only the oldest of old-school HA readers will remember this post but the three requirements are all met here: We’ve got a conservative making an assumption about an aspect of minority culture, i.e. that a group of black teens (or any teens, really) might recognize a reference to a famous pop song by black artists. Nothing pernicious or derogatory about it but, you know, close enough.

The liberal media really hate Mitt. He must be doing something right.

The only scandal is that the song is remarkably dated.

Obama’s statement about “seeing Clinton dance” to see if he is a “brotha” was far more offensive. I know he regretted it as soon as he said it.

In fact asking the question was offensive. I was embarrassed for him when the question was asked. I was furious at his answer. Punk Ass.

We need an oped from Michelle on this. She really gets it. I love that “sista”.

RWillard Romney is a total liberal…yes it is convenient that he switched all of his stances right before running for president but I’m not buying it one bit.

Romney was always pro abortion…anti gun rights..pro universal medicine..opposed to the surge and against the Bush tax cuts.

He’s nothing but a total liar!

Is it still against Huck’s soul to not give illegals benefits in the state of Arkansas, or did he get rid of that pesky thing when he ran for election.

Cause with all the false witness bearing he’s engaged in, it looks like it.

Mitt is cute.

iamse7en on January 23, 2008 at 9:06 PM

Don’t you understand that if we nominate Romney we are guaranteed to lose the general election??

This will be a close election and evangelicals will not get behind Romney in large enough numbers for him to win!

Why? Are evangelicals closed minded bigots? I thought that is what you and the other guy from the dailykos have been disputing all week. They won’t back Romney because if you didn’t know he was a mormon that the exemplary life he has led could be claimed to be evamngelical-like? At least like evangelicals who aren’t closed minded and bigoted.

While Huckabee was begging for tax hikes and tuition breaks for Illegals in Arkansas, Mitt was rebuilding the Massachusetts economy without taxes and VETOED a bill for in-state Tuition breaks for illegals.

I’d really like to make a statement here but that would only illicit stupid retorts from HH. The End.

HH and that other guy apoxuponyou are not conservatives. Their anger, and intolerance and dishonesty give them away. My bet is that they are sitting in the same room somewhere having a good ol time thinking they are stirring up trouble. Poor, angry, miserable egocentrics.

peacenprosperity on January 23, 2008 at 9:32 PM

Yeah, it would appear he’s just another angry lefty sent here to bug the crap out of everyone. At the moment he’s busy annoying people on the latest Huckleberry blog

Willard Romney is more liberal than Ted Kennedy.

Lawrence O’Donnell! Izzat you?

sulla on January 24, 2008 at 1:52 AM

Yeah, he’s hopelessly uncool. Feel free to snicker.

I’ll give him credit for trying, though. And the others in the crowd seemed to enjoy it, so, overall: success. And if the media don’t like it: icing on the cake.

theregoestheneighborhood on January 24, 2008 at 1:58 AM

Romney is the only guy who can win. No one is going to vote for an unattractive old guy with cancer, a golfball on his left cheek, and amnesty-supporter. It’s just not gonna happen.

Mitt is the man.

I was thinking the same thing.

If the MSM is trying to dig up dirt on Mitt, I say, for one thing, good luck. I also say he must be the one who scares the s$%t out of them so…..MITTMANIA!!
