[In other words, he was JUST LIKE A DEMOCRAT] A year later, he openly campaigned against a ballot initiative to remove the sales tax on food and medicine. While he and Rockefeller won re-election in 2002, Sen. Tim Hutchinson didn’t. [Meaning that the liberals won and the conservative didn't.]

In 2003, Huckabee not only begged lawmakers for new taxes to make up a budget shortfall, but he rebuffed conservatives’ (Republicans and a couple of Democrats) plan to cover the shortfall by tapping one-time money and cutting pork. [The RINO rebuffed the conservatives, and refused to cut pork. What a ...surprise.] In 2004, President Bush won re-election, but Huckabee campaigned for some Democrats – even some who had Republican opponents – and Republicans lost state legislative seats for the first time since 1990. [Huckabee directly sabotaged his own party.]

In 2005, a term-limited Huckabee frustrated conservatives when he pushed a bill to give in-state college tuition and scholarships to the children of illegal immigrants. The next year, Democrats swept Republicans in every race for statewide constitutional office and Republicans lost legislative seats for the second consecutive election cycle. [Huckabee had a huge impact - a grossly negative one - on the Republican Party in his state. Thanks to his efforts, his party was weakened. I would say that made him a cheerful ally of the Democrats - thus a Republican IN NAME ONLY. Get it?!]

Actually he called some RINOs shi’ite’s in 2001 way before any other candidate even knew the difference between a shia and a sunni!

That’s funny. I remember reading about Shiites and Sunnis during the Iranian hostage crisis. Of course, what they said at the time was that Sunni Muslims were moderated, and it was the Shiites who were radical. This was because the Iranians were Shiite, and Al Quaeda had not yet attacked us.

So the conventional wisdom before 9/11 usually painted the Shiites as the “dangerous” Muslims, and the Sunni as the moderate ones we could all get along with.

Which means, that if Huckabee was calling people “Shiites”, it would be to tag them with a spiteful name, similar to calling them Nazis or Fascists. And as we all know, those names are freely applied to conservatives by liberals.

So it’s highly doubtful he called people Shiites because he thought they were RINO’s. That’s shameless revisionism. He was almost certainly attacking them for being too conservative.

So your whole argument is false:
1) Shiites were by no means unheard of since at least the 70′s, so Huckabee gets no points for being ahead of his time.
2) Shiites before 9/11 would NOT have been a compliment
3) Calling people “Shiites” would have meant calling them radical conservatives, the opposite of RINO’s
4)Since the conventional wisdom that dubbed Shiites radicals and Sunnis as moderates was, in fact, wrong, Huckabee if anything showed himself not ignorant of the nature of the branches of Islam.

That is more a reflection of the growth in the Arkansas economy than a reflection of tax rates. In fact, state income tax rates did not change during Huckabee’s term. Voters approved a 3 cent per gallon fuel tax increase that allowed Arkansas to rebuild its interstate highway system. The Arkansas Supreme Court mandated a change in the state school system which led to a 7/8 cent sales tax increase. Mike would have been thrown out of office had he not gone along with these mandates! Learn the facts. Mike Huckabee is a fiscal conservative.
