Even Jon Stewart isn’t buying Wild Bill’s act anymore.

Yeah, he’s only critical on issues of little importance.
This idiot WILL be voting for empire Clinton.
Vanbasten on January 23, 2008 at 10:09 AM
Okay, I admit, the “bet on black” bit made me chuckle.
MadisonConservative on January 23, 2008 at 10:10 AM
I also note the lack of laughter near the end.
Awww, did phony newscaster hurt aww da wittle Hiwwary zombie’s feewings?
MadisonConservative on January 23, 2008 at 10:12 AM
Let them eviscerate themselves.
They’ve had enough practice on the Constitution.

I thought that was pretty funny. Who says libs can’t be amusing?
txsurveyor on January 23, 2008 at 10:15 AM
It’s only funny until someone ends up dead in Fort Marcy Park.
Wait, it’s The Daily Show? In that case it was never funny.
saint kansas on January 23, 2008 at 10:16 AM
Did Bill Clinton just lie? But… But… It seemed so natural and easy for him? Why is that?
Zetterson on January 23, 2008 at 10:17 AM
Actually, if Hillary alienates the black vote by running a polarizing campaign it will hurt her in the general. A nasty Democratic primary fight, especially one that takes some of the luster off Bill, will help in November.
dedalus on January 23, 2008 at 10:23 AM
If Hillary wins, conservatives might just start to like The Daily Show a little bit more.
Yoosaion on January 23, 2008 at 10:23 AM
I’m sure someone would be making threats about not voting for Hillary RIGHT IN FRONT OF BILL CLINTON. He’s such an unknown person, no one would recognize him–it would be an easy mistake to make to have such a conversation with him standing or walking within earshot. I’m sure that person is so embarrassed now to realize that Hillary’s husband was right there and happened to overhear that little faux pas.

This guy uses our troops as a punch-line to get laughs from his Lefty audience. Screw-em’.
Hening on January 23, 2008 at 10:31 AM
Its nice to see him cash in on some of the Clinton humor. But when the chips are down you know who he has to support.
AbaddonsReign on January 23, 2008 at 10:34 AM
Will Stewart be forced into an on-air “Mea culpa” like Chrissie Matthews?
MCPO Airdale on January 23, 2008 at 10:34 AM
Lighten up a bit…so what if Jon Stewart’s a lib? It was still funny.
Tim on January 23, 2008 at 10:35 AM
As for Jon Stewart, I used to watch his show all the time when he bothered to hit both sides on a regular basis (yes, there was a time when he did that, and did it well). He’s really very funny–one of the best on the air right now, in my opinion. I just can’t watch him anymore because he got so one-sided and unfair. Our guys usually deserve to be ridiculed. But so do theirs, and it’s disingenuous of Stewart to act like they’re not. It also bothers me that he tries to act like his young viewers don’t take what he says as real news. He knows they do, which means he’s being irresponsible when he deliberately misrepresents a news item or political issue for the sake of a joke. He KNOWS they’ll take away his misrepresentation of the message rather than go find out the rest of the story. I know he’s just a comedian, but it seems like he needs to take some tiny responsibility for the message he sends when it’s the news he’s talking about.

I was in a Vegas Casino this past weekend and I couldn’t even hear my buddy yelling behind me telling me not to place my bet on the Pats and Packers…

I used to think like you, then I realized a majority of material was being fed to him because the republicans are in charge. Bush is about the easiest thing to make fun of, because most of what he says is downright near retarded. There have also been multiple gigantic republican scandals as well. If a lib comes into power in 08, then you will see his show change to making fun of them. You have to make fun of whoever is in charge.
muyoso on January 23, 2008 at 11:00 AM
The one from last night is what should be shown…it was a recap of the debate, and it was hilarious! The premise is MLK day and look how the black got treated. At the end, Chapelle was shown in the debate audience (for real, a camera picked him up) and Stewart then panned to another audience member..Cartman!
Pam on January 23, 2008 at 11:10 AM
who bill lie??
nooooooooooooooooooooooo
trailortrash on January 23, 2008 at 11:13 AM
Let’s ask Chelsea if she indeed heard that…Oh Wait, she is not talking no matter how cute you are and Vince Foster was unavailable for comment.
Wade on January 23, 2008 at 11:14 AM
Definately truth to that; a commenter on a talk/news radio station I used to listen to explained to listeners, during the term of a very left-leaning government, that left-leaning listeners were calling in to complain, and accused the stations management of being right wing (they definately weren’t!). He then pointed out that, a few years earlier, when a right-leaning government was in place, that the station was frequently accused of of being a bunch of left wingers. The point, the commenter said, was that the station was just doing its job by taking the government of the day to task, and holding up all its actions and policies up to the light and keeping the public informed.
Frozen Tex on January 23, 2008 at 11:22 AM
Just imagine how he’s gonna joke about her when she gets the nomination.
scottm on January 23, 2008 at 11:38 AM
Tomorrow he will apologize and increase his protection, not in that order.
Christine on January 23, 2008 at 11:49 AM
It’s funny because he’s right, he saw right through the bs Bill claimed to be evesdropping on and called him out on it. The annoying thing is there are way too many idiots who will believe Clinton on that, I can picture my grandma now saying something like “those dirty unions”.
pb5000 on January 23, 2008 at 11:51 AM
Chelsea’s looking pretty good (~1:40).
It’s pretty far away and blurry, but good.
JohnW on January 23, 2008 at 11:56 AM
If Bill Clinton really did hear that, he should have called the police and had the person arrested (would have been easy because the police could not have been more than 5 feet away from him.) If it really happened, it’s a crime. Whatever happened to Bill Clinton’s oath to uphold the constitution — does that retire with his retirement?
Wise Golden on January 23, 2008 at 12:16 PM
Obama is the new Clinton. He is the flavor of the month and is untouchable, to be rigorously defended by Democrats everywhere.
It is natural for Stewart to do this, a few years from now he will be defending someone else from Obama’s attacks.
Grafted on January 23, 2008 at 12:20 PM
Did no one watch the next clip with John Oliver talking about the cigar of truth?
mad saint jack on January 23, 2008 at 12:26 PM
I’m of the opinion that unless family members are openly attacking other candidates or openly antagonise other public figures for political gain, they’re not fair game.
MadisonConservative on January 23, 2008 at 12:32 PM
Don’t worry Bush and Romney is still comics favorite.
terryannonline on January 23, 2008 at 12:38 PM
Did the Democrats get the video taken down? Is there a tech problem? Or am I the only one who can’t access it?
Christoph on January 23, 2008 at 12:51 PM
I’m of the opinion it was posted as a joke. Are you aware of the news about Chelsea being asked questions? If not, find out, if so, then you need to lighten up.
Wade on January 23, 2008 at 1:44 PM
Huh? You been drinking at this time of day?
Wade on January 23, 2008 at 1:45 PM
As a side bar and this is serious, Bill is the one who brought Chelsea into this, as if she is his witness.
Wade on January 23, 2008 at 1:48 PM
And it is a fact some people have made Chelsea a target, and sometimes they’re intelligent people. Forgive me if I don’t catch every nuance, and want to take a moment to make a statement that is not directed solely at the most important person in your life.
MadisonConservative on January 23, 2008 at 1:53 PM
And now if only the MSM would approach Billary’s campaign tactics with the same snarky tongue-in-cheek sarcasm, then maybe America would wake up, pay attention and finally wipe the scum-sucking Anti-Christ and her husband off the face of the political map.
Gartrip on January 23, 2008 at 2:06 PM
Stewart=broken clock.
Wingo on January 23, 2008 at 2:29 PM
Oh don’t be so PC, MC. It was a funny joke. I mean, its better than 9/10ths of modern black comedy where a certain racila epithet is repeated over and over and ovr again, amidst references to female dogs and garden equipment.
BKennedy on January 23, 2008 at 2:47 PM
I used to watch the Daily Show, until Jon Stewart got the gig and Bush came into office. After that, it became unwatchable.
ThePrez on January 23, 2008 at 2:59 PM
If you ever need an antonym of funny, that guy is it.
corona on January 23, 2008 at 3:27 PM
Gotta give that one to Jon Stewart.
Even I hadn’t thought of the noise factor in Clinton’s statement.
The Ugly American on January 23, 2008 at 3:55 PM
Stewart’s reduced to mocking the spouses of candidates?
How edgy.
Stephen M on January 23, 2008 at 4:43 PM
I guess you can only carry a guy’s water for so long.
Then one day you look in that bucket to find it’s a gallon of watery fe¢es.
TheSitRep on January 23, 2008 at 5:39 PM
Gotta love it when Jon Stewart turns on slick Willie.
