I amaze myself.

In any event, we have a lot to go in the campaign season, especially the primaries. I wonder if Huckabee will drop out, presumably if the postulate that he can’t do well without a large Evangelical base holds out, after Super Tuesday? It may end up being between Romney and McCain, but then again it could be between Romney and Huckabee.

Romney/Steele either way would be good.

With Hillary it would remind the voters about the fight she had with Obama. Also, because Hillary, I’m sure, will not choose a black running mate it would again show the voters the real thing.

Wow: Back in March of 07 at the CPAC convention in DC several former Fred Thompson Congressional staffers told me Fred Thompson was thinking about a run. Some of his Tennessee cronies had been talking him up too. I reported……

I’m so disapointed because shortly after he announced, I could see that his heart just wasn’t in it!

That leaves me with Romney and Rudy.

I’d like to have seen Fred Thompson mount a serious campaign, make his case, punch more hippies and keep the GOP listing to the right. Fred Thompson was consistently the best debater, but it takes more than debate performances to become president (conversely, poor debate performances shouldn’t be enough to write off a good candidate either, though debates do matter). In order to win you have to show that you know how to build the organization that it takes. Fred Thompson never showed much interest in that part of the race, and that’s part of the reason why, in spite of his being the most interesting and charismatic conservative of the campaign, he’s taking the early exit.

Cute…a little too syrupy though. I honestly don’t think I could call myself that without gagging. Now that my favorite candidate is gone, I reckon I’ll be calling myself a Mitt-supporter, for better or for worse.

That may have merit. Infinitely better than McCain/Edwards.

…and McCain/Edwards is a distinct possibility. PrettyBoy is, quite simply, a “running-mate slut”, and I think he’ll go to the high bidder as long as it gets him a spot on a ticket somewhere. After all, he doesn’t actually have a job anymore.

I don’t understand why Fred did not come out stronger. In the last few debates I watched, I seemed on point.
