Once (and only once) 6 years or so ago hardly competes with, among other things: crossdressing videos on Youtube, three divorces, various immigration foibles, and various acts of insentivive boorishness on the “wow this guy has problems” scale.

Rudy is a smart, competent guy, but he brushes away skeletons to get to his clothes in the morning.

That’s good, but Rudy really needs to make his stand in Florida if he wants a chance to win it all. Personally I think he’s great on everything except social issues and private morality. Then again it seems it takes a crook to beat crooks. I’d definitely put him in as AG or SecDef, but keep him away from the Top Executive.

Not only has he been a prosecutor but he has played one on TV.

I especially like him for that position given his ideas about Federalism and the proper role of the Federal government.

You hope it’s Mitt but in the end, can you see him go up against Hillary and Bill? He’s mince meat. Very easy to take down and his support is wafer thin and soft. The left will wake up and vote in a land slide and conservatives will vote if they get off work early enough.

Mitt beat the libs who run Massachusetts in his election bid. He’s gone toe-to-toe with libs before and won.

McCain? He gives them a great big bear hug, which is why all the MSM attacks are aimed at Mitt and not McCain.

Let’s all hope that the MSM learns a lesson from this! Bwaaa ha ha ha! Yeah, right…. Next time they’ll flex their muscle even more, but maybe at some point the people will decide to strip that muscle from the bone and have it for lunch.

Actually, in all honesty, the lesson to learn is for the next Fred-in-waiting: if you want to behave as if the world is different than what it actually is, you’re going to lose. It doesn’t matter how noble you are and what great ideas you represent, pretending that you set all the rules is a recipe for failure.

When your opponents start earlier than your you can say “I started at the right time, and they were way early.” Not going to help you.

When you dis an early primary state you can say all you want “it doesn’t matter” or “they should only consider my ideas”. Not going to help you.

When you hire a guy from the only conservative cable news organization and fire him quickly causing him personal hardship, you can say “that news organization should only care about substance.” Let me abbreviate: Ngthy.

When Dr. Dobson says you’re not a Christian, you can tell him to go to hell because that the fair response. Ngthy.

When you make unexpectedly short speeches to ardent supporters and leave them disappointed, and never bother to explain your behavior, you could say…hm…I don’t know what you can say, but Ngthy.

This can go on for a long time, but the moral of the story is this: this world has rules. Almost nobody can change the rules, and those who can have to be in an incredibly strong position. For the rest, those who can figure the rules out the best win.

This is the tripe that the MSM moderates are using to cover up for taking down the only candidate who has enumerated conservative principals and all but assured the GOP that they’ll have a moderate candidate that no one will be able to get behind.

I think Republicans and conservatives are probably going to have at least four years to analyze what went wrong, and the influence the MSM, (including Fox News), had over the race is going to be scrutinized. Maybe this is just a preemptive attempt by Fox News to CYA.

I absolutely detest Huckabee, and will be voting for Mitt.

My hatred aside, I really think the Huckster would be the perfect choice as Mitt’s VP. It might solve the irrational evangelical problem.

It’s a kiss ass attempt to get back favor with conservatives by saying, “See we were right! He really duped you and we just protected your naive backside from his manipulation.” Who cares how or why he got into the race to begin with? What the hell does it really matter at all? Did he put up a good agenda? How does it compare now with the choices you’re left with? They got some great policies you can rally behind, or are you saying… ‘Well.. it’s not too bad… at least it’s not as bad as what Obama and Hillary would do.’ I can’t believe this mentality. That’s like the NY Giants coming out and saying, “Well maybe we’ll win because we’re the underdog. I mean, even though the Patriot’s never lost a Super Bowl, they haven’t been playing their last games that intensely. If we stay focused they’ll tire out and we can sneak in a win.”

You may not agree with this, but Bush seems better to me than all the candidates vying to take his place.
