Video: Obama says Bill Clinton isn’t telling the truth

During the Nevada caucus, Bill Clinton said that he and Chelsea witnessed voter intimidation tactics on behalf of the Obama campaign. Too bad the press can’t ask Chelsea about it.

Barack Obama appeared on GMA today and said that Clinton is lying about the incident and a whole lot else besides.

“You know the former president, who I think all of us have a lot of regard for, has taken his advocacy on behalf of his wife to a level that I think is pretty troubling,” Obama said. “He continues to make statements that are not supported by the facts — whether it’s about my record of opposition to the war in Iraq or our approach to organizing in Las Vegas.

“This has become a habit, and one of the things that we’re going to have to do is to directly confront Bill Clinton when he’s making statements that are not factually accurate,” Obama said.

But..but…Bill Clinton, lying? Well, knock me over with a straw. Obama is shrewdly taking on the relevant White Man in the race, and that’s not John Edwards.

Apologies for the sync on this clip, but you can still see Bill Clinton’s lips moving, therefore you can easily see that he’s lying.

Update: Sync fixed.

Obama says Bill Clinton isn’t telling the truth

And in other news, Obama also admitted the sky is blue and snow is cold.

No sh!t Sherlock!!!!

Winebabe on January 21, 2008 at 9:44 AM

I said this in the Headlines, but watching the video just makes it more clear… the war is very well on.

Maybe if Obama wasn’t so clearly a part of the vast right-wing conspiracy by daring to oppose the Hillary coronation, then Bill Clinton wouldn’t have the need to speak with such… nuance (as we all know, “not factually accurate” only comes from Republicans regarding war and our enemies abroad… yet another clue that Obama isn’t on the party-line Democrat script).

/Clintonista

In related news, the sun rose in parts of the world today, it is cold in the Northeast and Midwest, and Bill Clinton is still lying about all things great and trivial. Good luck, Messiah… you’re going to need it.

I have the solution. Give Bill a bigger microphone so all of America can see what he’s going to be like if Hillary wins.

Too bad the press can’t ask Chelsea about it.

Exactly. They use Chelsea at political events, but she’s not allowed to talk to the press. Hey, if she’s not allowed to speak about politics, then keep her ta hell out of the political pictures.

petefrt on January 21, 2008 at 9:54 AM

My comments from the headlines:

Glad to hear Osamabama stand up to the Clintonians, but he may end up realizing he has bitten off more thanhe can chew.

But, Cat Fight! Let the fun begin.

davidk on January 21, 2008 at 8:46 AM

And Chelsea is an adult campaigning for her mother. She is not off limits–except to the MSM in the Clintons’ back pocket.

I love that. Someone needs to make it into a t-shirt.

There are three things in life that are unavoidable, things that cannot be denied. The first is death, the second is taxes, and the last is a Clinton will lie.

thekingtut on January 21, 2008 at 10:11 AM

Mr. Slithers, habitually saying things that are untrue?

Well, you could knock me over with a feather.

Who knew?

franksalterego on January 21, 2008 at 10:20 AM

Obama took this long to figure that out?

I guess the Third World War will be over before Barrack decides to join the fight.

Does “Obama” mean “brain like a snail” in Swahili?

profitsbeard on January 21, 2008 at 10:28 AM

I wish I could say I was surprised by them putting Chelsea off limits to all media (including that 9-year old reporter). Of course, the media isn’t really allowed to question Hillary either (including Tim Russert asking follow-up questions in a debate). If the Clintons really wanted to be protective of their daughter, maybe they should just leaver her at home.

Wineaholic on January 21, 2008 at 10:29 AM

The press will cover.

Starlink on January 21, 2008 at 10:36 AM

Man, that finally loaded so that I could watch the whole thing.

You gotta hand it to Obama. Would that back in the day one of our guys could have so artfully and beguiilingly taken Slick Willy to the woodshed and called him a liar in so many polite ways.

My favorite line?

“…the former president, who I think all of us have a lot of regard for…”

The word that fits in there best is ‘respect.’ Notice he didn’t use it. “Regard.”

This has a chance to get really, really ugly.

C’mon, let’s you and him fight!

Typhoon on January 21, 2008 at 10:37 AM

Woowwwww Obama’s so coooooool. Doesn’t your heart like skip a few beats every time you see him? He’s just sooo. cooool. I just want to bathe in his radiance.

….and Obama had better keep an eye looking over his shoulder and not visit any parks. Remember Vince Foster !

He should know by now that the Clintonistas will do anything to quiet the opposition and win whatever they are running for.

OBX Pete on January 21, 2008 at 10:38 AM

At risk now is:

Obama’s future
vs.
The Bill Clinton legacy image

Removing the latter would be as fact-facing an event as the 911 attacks. Making Democrats soul-search, reflect, remember, and recall the divisiveness of those 8yrs as well as pointing out the real shortcomings, lies, and cost of those years runs the risk of not only tearing down Bubba, shattering the party, and destroying the 7yrs of concerted effort at distracting from the failures that led to the 911 attacks, but also cools the sizzle from the reason/excuse that most Dems have swallowed to make themselves support Hillary: the idea that they’d get Bill back in there. Remove the facade of a Clinton “how great it was” time, and the party’s house of cards faces a tornado of confusion.

scottm on January 21, 2008 at 10:38 AM

I will admit, it is refreshing to actually see a Democrat like Obama have the cajones of steel to stand up to someone like Bubba Billy and call him a liar. Just too bad it took him this long to figure out what the majority of us already were already more than aware of. Now what I would really like to see would him to actually get nose to nose with Bubba Billy and say that!

Are the Dhimmicrats ready to finally say that the emperor has no clothes?

Mojave Mark on January 21, 2008 at 10:51 AM

it is not that the Clinton’s are compulsive liars, it is just they never understood what the truth is. At least Obama has the ba**s to say it. The only one to do so. That got my attention. If this country is going down the tubes at least I won’t vote to turn it over to chronic liars like Clinton or McCain.

You mean the conspiracy about Foster being right handed and shooting himself in the left temple or the fact that the soil on his shoes didn’t match the soil of the area he was found in. Foster is one of MANY conspiratorial murders closely associated with the Clintons. Obama is taking on the epitome of evil in the Clintons. He got my attention by doing so.

Libs: see the President you idolize, disenfranchising voters.
He’s as shameful as an ex President as he was while in office.
He and his wife will continue to drag the Democratic Party down into the gutter until they are done in politics. A vote for Hillary is a shameful act.

Honesty may be the best policy, but it’s important to remember that apparently, by elimination, dishonesty is the second-best policy.

–Bradky on January 21, 2008 at 10:46 AM

And, wouldn’t you like to find out why, White House operatives, beginning with Hillary’s chief of staff, Margaret Williams, were in such a hurry to rifle Vince Foster’s office?…Particularly, when you know Vince Foster was the keeper of the Whitewater files.

Ken Starr was the evil prosecutor, who attacked the clintons?

Or,

Ken Starr was the honest prosecutor, who exonerated the clintons?

Bradky on January 21, 2008 at 10:46 AM

I don’t remember saying anything about a “conspiracy” in my post. That is your word not mine. As far as the Vince Foster ‘affair’ I don’t need to say anything else - the other posts above have taken care of that. As far as Ken Starr’s conclusions about Foster, remember that Starr was also the one who didn’t complete the job he was hired to do i.e. indict the admitted perjurers, Bill and Hillary Clinton.

OBX Pete on January 21, 2008 at 12:17 PM

There’s the pot calling the kettle black.

Pun intended.

Dark-Star on January 21, 2008 at 12:27 PM

Obama is simply stating - rather eloquently, I might add - what many thinking Democrats have known for years but have been too blinded to even acknowledge. At last Obama may finally drag the rest of them into the light with his remarks — good for him.

D2Boston on January 21, 2008 at 12:32 PM

A Dumb lying? Revamping history? Bending the truth?

I’m dumbfounded!!

madmonkphotog on January 21, 2008 at 12:37 PM

There’s enough feverish nonsense on the left that Halliburton/neocons/Bushco/whoever is going to try to kill Obama. We don’t need to wade into the same swamp.

But what is true is that the Clintons will pull out every stop to stop him otherwise. Every dirty trick; every ploy…hell, look how quickly they brought Oprah to heel.

And in the end I don’t think Obama’s going to be able to beat them. Not so much because of him but because of the lay of the land in the Democrat party. It is indeed their horrible dirty little secret that Hispanics just aren’t going to vote for a black. That’s the uncovered story coming out of Nevada.

Once you get to the Democrat-only primaries, I don’t think the combination of women, old-time unionists/Clintonistas and Hispanics is going to give way to Obama.

But let’s root for him to stay in as long as he can. The longer he’s in, not only the more the Clintons are exposed as what they are to a good swath of independents in the country who probably don’t have a clue about policy but love what they see in Obama what they want to believe is good about themselves, but that madder he’s likely to make the Clintons and the uglier it’s going to get, until maybe, just maybe, Bill won’t sit for Obama as his co-running-mate.

Typhoon on January 21, 2008 at 12:52 PM

In other news, Obama tells the all black members of a large church that blacks should all be united in their support of him, because he’s black.

And because only the Candidate of Hope and Change can demagogue the electorate on race.

“You know the former president, who I think all of us have a lot of regard for…” Bwaahahahahahahaha!
The kicker is: “…one of the things that we’re going to have to do is to directly confront Bill Clinton when he’s making statements that are not factually accurate.” That will be a dangerous moment, one we need to get while the cameras are rolling. Swami has it and it’s an ugly ‘pre-view’, or more likely will be what we didn’t get to see last time.
It never ceases to amaze me that there are people out there who would put the Worst Couple back in the WH when they both have had 2 consecutive terms already!

The House of Cards is folding.

U.S. markets were closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, but the downbeat mood from last week’s market declines there circled through Europe, Asia and the Americas. Britain’s benchmark FTSE-100 slumped 5.5 percent to 5,578.20, France’s CAC-40 Index tumbled 6.8 percent to 4,744.15, and Germany’s blue-chip DAX 30 plunged 7.2 percent to 6,790.19.

In Asia, India’s benchmark stock index tumbled 7.4 percent, while Hong Kong’s blue-chip Hang Seng index plummeted 5.5 percent to 23,818.86, its biggest percentage drop since the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.

Canadian stocks fell as well, with the S&P/TSX composite index on the Toronto Stock Exchange down 4 percent in early afternoon trading. In Brazil, stocks plunged 6.9 percent on the main index of Sao Paulo’s Bovespa exchange.

Don’t look now but, “It’s the economy, stupid”.

Yes, and yes, the weak will cower while the fittest will survive.

The meek will never inherit the earth, but they do get to vote by the millions in Nov., and that favors the lefties who’ll destroy Capitalism even more.

Clinton’s henchmen always said that “it’s the economy, stupid”. He was also not the socialist his wife idealistically is. Just trying to get on topic. There’s more to Clinton than the economy, to be sure; though, at this point, I don’t care about Bill Clinton.

I knew that the media would start doing sycophantic Clinton interviews at the first hint of trouble in the primaries.Tom Brokaw is exhibit A. His interview with Clinton was so sycophantic that I think Brokaw had a man crush. He asked Clinton about being “the first Black president”. People like Brokaw keep throwing out this crapola and they never mention that the only person who called Clinton the first Black president was Clinton supporter and leftwing writer Toni Morrison. This is what Obama is up against.
When CNN predictably tossed this “first Black president” at Obama, he should have said: “Real African-Americans have to endure certain indignities every day that Bill Clinton will never have to endure. Real African-Americans are used to seeing the taxi driver speed by them without stopping. Real African-Americans are used to seeing people refuse to get on an elevator when three or four African-Americans are on the elevator. When did Bill Clinton have to endure these daily slights?”
CNN is not called Clinton New Network for nothing.
