Video: Hillary Clinton doesn’t like “statesmen”

Hillary Clinton is a PC identity politician to her core. Stick with the speech she delivered Sunday, if you can and aren’t put off by the sucking up to Obama and the questionable reference to her “35 years of experience,” until just past the 3:30 mark. Or just skip ahead to that point if you have better things to do than listen to her boilerplate speech.

If Churchill were alive, Hillary thinks he would call statesmen “statespersons?” That’s about as likely as God telling people to lie and smear their way through their self-made legal difficulties.

On an Annoyance Scale I’d rate this about a 3 or 4. Not huge, but memorably irritating in a predictable identity politics sort of way. There’s a lot more where this came from if she’s elected president.

I could be wrong, but I doubt Margaret Thatcher went around putting self-promotional politically-correct gender politics quotes in the mouths of the dead.

Just what I need to give me nightmares before I go to sleep. Thanks Bryan. PC will be the death of US.

Her “experience” went from 15 years in early debates to 35 years more recently.

Where did she get any of that experience? She says she had met with world leaders as first lady life partner, but the role of a first lady life partner isn’t to discuss State matters with foreign heads of state.

Why does no one pick up on this?

Oh, and by the way, she’s bad for the country.

madmonkphotog on January 21, 2008 at 8:47 AM

Hillary doesn’t like men.

davidk on January 21, 2008 at 8:48 AM

If someone’s been working to change things for 35yrs, doesn’t that by itself mean they’re not very good at changing things?

scottm on January 21, 2008 at 8:52 AM

I can’t believe she attempted to quote Winston Churchill, a true hero and statesman.
Hillary, you aren’t qualified to shine Sir Churchill’s shoes.
*
Disgusting even to hear his name cross those lying, selfish, socialist lips.
You, Hillary, are the brand of politician he fought against his whole life…You are the type of politician that placed Europe in such jeopardy, you are the politician that hid beneath the bed for years as bombs reined down on London, and then raised your ugly head to defeat Winston after the war. Calling him a war politician…your type dishonored a great man, and now you honor him with your distortions.
*
You despicable wench…

right2bright on January 21, 2008 at 8:53 AM

I’m not sure which is worse the media obsession with britney or hillary…. if either of them sneezes its front page news everywhere. sickening. couldnt pay me enough to watch her soundbites.

This does not sound like you Hillary, this is what a leader sounds like:

An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile—hoping it will eat him last….

Here is one for you Hillary…

The truth is incontrovertible, malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end; there it is.

And one more for all of the libs…

You ask, What is our policy? I will say; “It is to wage war, by sea, land and air, with all our might and with all the strength that God can give us: to wage war against a monstrous tyranny, never surpassed in the dark lamentable catalogue of human crime. That is our policy.” You ask, What is our aim? I can answer with one word: Victory—victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory however long and hard the road may be; for without victory there is no survival.

God bless the greatest man of our times…

…one more for Hillary:

I may be drunk, Miss, but in the morning I will be sober and you will still be ugly.

…and one more for all the Mitt-wits:

He has all of the virtues I dislike and none of the vices I admire

right2bright on January 21, 2008 at 9:08 AM

Her “experience” went from 15 years in early debates to 35 years more recently.

Where did she get any of that experience?

She remembered having sex once 20 years earlier than her previous recollection.

Patrick S on January 21, 2008 at 9:10 AM

Hillary heads the list as the most corrupt politician in Washington by Judicial Watch. Papers just released show corruption between the Clintons and news outlets that “waited for what and when to say” about her Health Reform Plan that they wanted the American people to know. Corruption at the highest levels. Go to JudicialWatch.org

I can’t stand every time two people cheer she tries to turn it into some uplifting moment by raising her voice. Uh, no Hillary, it doesn’t work like that.

Winnie new 50 years ago, what many still do not understand now…even after all of the analysis, of the terror that ideologies put upon the world, appeasers still want to negotiate, rather then fight for victory…Churchill got it before any other leader got it.
Remember, over 60% of congress and the people (of the U.S.) thought Hitler was not a threat, until Churchill came and spoke before congress…most politicians think only of their survival, not their country’s victory and subsequent survival.
God, how we need a Churchill…

right2bright on January 21, 2008 at 9:40 AM

Well Hillary is sneaky…She ripped Obama in Nevada for invoking Reagan…but then in a questionaire she put down Reagan as one of her favorite presidents.

It comes down to this…if your a woman I wouldn’t blame you for voting for Hillary…though I question your sanity. What are the chances of another women winning for a while?

If you are a black person I wouldn’t blame you for voting for obama…What are the chances of another black president being voted for? Again, not the smartest reasoning to vote for a president, but I understand.

Hillary is one sneaky beaoch. And I say that not in admiration but shaking my head that I even have to mention her as a person who might be president.

Ms. Slithers knows about as much about Churchill, as a chimpanzee knows about particle physics.

“Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.”
–Winston Churchill

franksalterego on January 21, 2008 at 9:50 AM

Yeah, we could really use a Winston Churchill right now. But our side are just too wimpy, except Rudy, and the other side is part of the problem.

thekingtut on January 21, 2008 at 10:02 AM

Winston Churchill:

Courage is rightly esteemed as the first of human qualities… because it is the quality which guarantees all others.”

A quote Hillary never heard of.

And never will.

profitsbeard on January 21, 2008 at 10:11 AM

This is why I don’t want to hear a single Republican say they would rather stay at home than vote for McCain. Clear?

scottm on January 21, 2008 at 8:52 AM

Bingo.

And if we’re going to have the arrogance to presume what Churchill would have said, here are a few to throw in the mix:

“Hillary Clinton: Winston, if you were my husband, I’d poison your tea.
Churchill: Hillary, if I were your husband, I’d drink it.”

And -
“I may be drunk, Ms., but in the morning I will be sober and you will still be ugly.”

Lenin worked for change; Hitler worked tirelessly for change. Osama IS working for change. Hillary is working for change. Am I seeing a pattern here?

Yakko77 on January 21, 2008 at 11:02 AM

I hear that the Clintons are also working on their own translation of the Bible.

“Hillary Clinton: Winston, if you were my husband, I’d poison your tea.
Churchill: Hillary, if I were your husband, I’d drink it.”

And -
“I may be drunk, Ms., but in the morning I will be sober and you will still be ugly.”

Thanks for reminding me of those great quotes. He truly was a brilliant man. Can you imagine any of the Republican candidates capable of repartee like that? Fred maybe, but he’ll be lucky to get the VP slot the way things are going.

Mojave Mark on January 21, 2008 at 11:20 AM

Thatcher is the real feminist here. She ran for elections and won them in her own name. Hillary is a kitchen table feminist: she didn’t have the nerve to do it on her own so she rides the coattails of her hubby after he takes his turn.

PattyJ on January 21, 2008 at 11:50 AM

I am a White woman and know more about Black men, of color, than the Black man I am running against. Winston Churchill who was an expert on Black men, of color, would agree that (her voice gets louder, brain begins to freeze, ears distort…….)

Hening on January 21, 2008 at 12:31 PM

Who is the last woman on earth Bill Clinton would be caught with in bed? His idiot wife, Hillary.

No, they would not vote for him, but then neither would the supporters of Huck or Mitt. There is no correlation between being a good pastor, businessman, family man, etc. to being a good leader…sorry to break the news, but some of the great leaders would not be a poster boy/girl for any of those things.
Those people would not have voted for Thatcher or Golda Meir either.

Margaret Thatcher didn’t have to put quotes in the mouths of the dead. The dead heard what Margaret Thatcher wanted and they exclaimed the quotes themselves. The dead did not want Margaret Thatcher to kill them again.

Mallard T. Drake on January 21, 2008 at 4:17 PM

I would infinitely rather have a Statesman (yes, not statesperson) than a politician. Senator Clinton is the worst type of politician.

She’ll win the Democratic nomination. However, luckily for the United States, she is completely unelectable.

Gianni on January 21, 2008 at 5:33 PM

Is it just me or did that seem like the words were being fed to her through a necklace to an earring…? It sure sounded that way to me. That was a Cirano de Bergerac moment if I’ve ever seen one. Also… I could be imagining it, but did it seem like she was trying hard not to break into a southern accent, by repeatedly reminding herself that she was in Harlem…?

Rugged Individual on January 21, 2008 at 8:11 PM

The only thing Hillary has been working for 35 years to change is the size of her bank account and her level of control over other people’s lives.

Anyone else notice her “husband” managed to make MLK day all about his self (yet again)? Assholes.

Neo on January 21, 2008 at 8:25 PM

Pathetic.

Tzetzes on January 22, 2008 at 1:42 AM

Don’t even want to endure the sound of her noise. All of everything she says can be boiled down to “I am smart and godlike, you are all stupid. I will control you and you will submit” That is the sum total of all the noise she makes. She just keeps changing the words around.

JellyToast on January 22, 2008 at 7:42 AM

Hitlery was not getting an Oscar was she?

She is disillusioned in thinking that she can make a difference. Her comments, past and present do not jive.

She says she wants to be seen as a statesman not a politician. Why is she touting she will send ‘Wild Bill’ as her emissary because he’s such a statesman (and he likes cigars as much as Churchill).

She is no different than ‘Wild Bill’. She just wants to get him out of the house so she can polilic (no misspelling) her way around D.C.
