It may seem he got off light, but the judge has him on a tight rope and as a lawyer me thinks his cohorts are shunning him.

But, let's add to his sentence of having to pay $600 to a Marine Foundation that he watch the 'Silent Marine' add daily.

After a couple of weeks he'll probably volunteer to repair the car he damaged himself or enlist in the Marines.

Liberals always seem to reward miserable failures: the less talented the better (in their twisted minds).

This scumbag probably will get a Grammy.

landlines on January 19, 2008 at 6:10 PM

Someone will write a "book" which will become a New York Times best seller on the "nonfiction" list, although it will likely be overflowing with fiction.

Then someone will make a movie, which Hollywood will nominate for an Academy Award. It will be a box office smash hit, portraying the Marine and his "Band of Brothers" as evil, sadistic, twisted, demented, cruel, vicious, sadistic, disrespectful Nazi-homophobic-misogynistic-obsessive, hatefilled type scum of the earth, and paint the thug lawyer as a saint, a martyr, and a poor victim of these malicious mental cases.

The movie will win the Academy Award, the lawyer will become a multimillionaire and a folk hero for the left, the fifth column in the USA, US hating Europeans, and Islamic Jihadis, all of whom will invite this lawyer as a $150,000 per appearance "speaker."

His speaking circuit will including all left wing, communist, liberal universities and other leftist avenues, and he will be praised far and wide.

In a short time, he will run for office, be successfully elected into the House or Senate, and remain there for several consecutive terms of office.

He will be found committing numerous crimes, but will get a pass by the press who will see him as a hero of the cause who can do no harm, for he will be granted absolute moral authority.

In the meantime, the Marines will be disrespected, their name defamed, their person spat upon, their loved ones stalked and persecuted, mocked, harassed, and shunned.

This is the way of things in the USA, Europe, and elsewhere, in the year 2008.

Of course, I hope this does not happen, but this, or similar events, have occurred here, where bad behavior is rewarded, the perpetrator hoisted upon the shoulders of an adoring public, and the victims, and those who live laudable lives are marginalized, and even painted as non-persons to be scorned and denigrated.

Isn't there somewhere on planet earth in which the law would sentence this guy to dismemberment of the "offending hand," and maybe around 200 lashes, plus a few days, weeks, or months in jail?

The part I find most annoying is Grodner's cowardice. He knew the Marine was restrained by honor, freeing Grodner to play the school-yard bully, when your average citizen would have responded to such taunting with violence.

But for Grodner to play the 'victim' card... to falsely accuse this honorable Marine of anti-semitism... well...

$600? No... not even close to enough.

Let me clarify my last sentence...I mean God bless all those who actually do the fighting. Some of us that serve don't get put in much danger simply because of our jobs (a jet mechanic deployed to two desert wars, myself). I'm grateful for those in ALL branches that volunteer to fight for us as a nation. We're all the better because of them.

One blog I read said that Sgt McNulty (thru the state attorney) asked that the "fine" be given to the Marine Fund.

Doesn't surprise me as service members give in large numbers (read: $$) to help their own.

I also read somewhere (Blackfive maybe?) that the Marine could still take this guy to small claims court, that this was the criminal court and the civil case could be heard when the Sgt gets back.

Still, you gotta laugh at the a$$wipe; how much has he pissed off God that his case gets heard by a Marine judge!!!

Great story. I first heard about it right after I came back home from a visit with my parent's in the Chicago area at Christmas. Had I known about it before I came home, I would have shown up at the first hearing, but alas... Anyway, I live in Illinois too and have military plates and a base sticker on my car (26 years Air Force and still serving, Bryan). To be fair, we don't pay extra for the military plates as the observer said the judge pointed out. We pay the same $78 everyone else does. They used to be cheaper but were raised years ago. Maybe that's the extra the observer says tyhe judge was talking about but I'm not aware if that's the case. With that said, I'm glad that dirtbag lawyer got a little lesson in humility. God bless Sgt. McNulty and all those who put themselves in harms way for us.

Great story, Bryan, but I think the judge was actually lenient. A year or so locked up would have been even better justice in addition to his rulings. That would have sent a truly inclusive message about our men and women serving in foreign lands. But one must remember these lawyers (skilfull lier in Greek) are all in the 'club' together. They can't be too harsh on each other.

Now that is some justice right there!

That judge reminds me of Ted Poe, who is now a US Congressman, here in the Houston area. Poe would often given a tongue lashing and some interesting sentences to the asshats that appeared before him.

My glee at the outcome of this case is restrained - in this topsy-turvy world, this may well be a career-booster for this dirtbag lawyer.

Would have been funny as hell to see this asshole's expression when he found out the judge was a Marine.

BTW, this Marines insurance company will go after the $hitbird lawyer for the damages to the Marines car. So not only will he have to do the community service, pay the $600, be exposed as the dirtbag he is, he will also end up paying the $2400! The scumbag lawyer would be able to get it covered by his insurance because he caused the damage in an illegal act.

Delicious shadenfreude!!

Where's Entelechy when I need her?

I love it! Things are looking up. The "dry cleaner pants" lawsuit ended with the judge being removed from the bench and now this.

There is justice in the world.

Some court-ordered counseling with a military psychologist might have been nice, too. Give the guy a glimpse into the work of others who try to help those who seem to thanklessly defend the rights of jerks like this to be jerks like this.
