There is NO SUCH THING as an unloaded gun. Or have we forgotten this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_91jcFTbLE8

That's the dumbest load of crap I've ever heard on here. Do you know what a loaded gun is? It's a gun with live rounds in it.

The gun in your video had live rounds in it. It was loaded.
A gun in a gun store has no rounds in it. It is unloaded.

Guns aren't dangerous. Only idiots with guns are dangerous.

Our founding fathers considered it not merely a right, but a sacred duty, an obligation that every citizen was under.

doriangrey on January 17, 2008 at 11:26 PM

Something cannot be both a right and a duty. The founding fathers considered gun ownership, as the means of a free people to protect themselves from tyrannical governments, a responsibility of the people, but still a freedom to choose.

It's also makes sense to have a law that says, "those that will use guns to commit crimes, or have done so in the past, shall not be allowed to own guns". You might argue that the law is pointless, since those people ignore our laws anyways, but it doesn't make the law wrong.

you have in fact been brainwashed in believing the values of socialism and at the same time deceived into thinking your socialist values are genuine conservative democratic values

You got all that about this fella from a few posts in this thread? Is it at all possible to have a different opinion than you yet NOT be a socialist?

Finally, can you appreciate the irony in the fact that you posted direct quotes from the people who composed the 2nd amendment stating that it was intended for "peacable", "law-abiding" citizens to be used for "self defense" and against the "tyranny" of governments?

How many of you posters live in Los Angeles? Any? Well I do and I saw what happened during the riots after the verdicts were announced in the Police trial and Rodney King beating. When push came to shove the LAPD bailed out and left. Guess who were able to defend themselves in the downtown business distritcts? Gun owners, that's who. I realize it's an extreme example but it's fact. How many of you saw the videos of the Koreans on the rooftops shooting back at the thugs who intended to do them harm? LAPD was nowhere to be found. If not for being armed those people would now be long dead. I don't own any weapons but I truly believe in the right to defend one's self and those vids proved it.

I'm not going get involved in the debate that is on going between dorian, "lickylicky" and Chakra Hammer. I will say this, regardless of whether or not you believe convicted felons should be allowed to own firearms these two guys should not. The fact that dumb a$$ on the right took an "unloaded" weapon and pulled the trigger multiple times, while pointing it at the head of dumb a$$ on the left, shows that he doesn't have the mental acuman to even look at a firearm.

There is NO SUCH THING as an unloaded gun. Or have we forgotten this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_91jcFTbLE8

Obviously they were not happy with their surroundings. You know not having a lot of friends that understand them, or the brains to load the weapons so they could do each other.

They wanted to get caught so they could be Democratized. In prison they would be surrounded by people who understood them, and they would free rent, food, and a rec center that will get them into shape to handle the 'real world' when they get out.

Truth-these are deportation cases. Let Castro absorb their hatred and stupidity.

The profound stupidity of pointing a weapon at your hommie and pulling the trigger several times only underscores the probability that these two "soldiers" were not late for a MENSA meeting.

Just a few personal gun experiences, actually four of them. Driving a taxi in three different cities, Philadelphia, Buffalo and Niagara Falls you're bound to get robbed. Getting robbed is not gunfight at the OK corral, two people advancing on each other and whoever draws first is the winner. They were gun to the head, hands up. If I'd have had a gun on me the first time I would probably had it in a shoulder holster and would have lost it because he patted me down. For a couple of weeks I planned for the next one, takes a bit for the rage to subside. OK, I'll get a gun for the next time but I'll put it in ankle holster. He won't be able to reach that far from the back seat. Dam, then I realized it would do me no good either because with my hands up I won't be able to reach to my ankle either. The first three hold ups were all within a year and a half of each other during 91 and 92. You'd think I'd have hung up my keys after the first or at least the second, but I figured what's the chance of it happening a third. Fast forward to Oct 02 and it happened again. F***! But, the point to all this is if I'd have had a gun the earliest I'd have been able to use it would have been after the robber leaves the cab and I could then shoot him as he runs away. That's not the problem, because that wouldn't have meant a dam thing to me. Bang, give me back my money, beyatch and I don't care if you bleed to death. The problem is that two were with no people around and two were with people around. I did 15 years in the military and one in the Infantry in Vietnam in 68. I'm not skittish around weapons and I'm a pretty good shot. Of the two robberies with people around would I have been able to thread my aim through the people and hit my target? I like to think I could but there's always the lady with a baby that comes out of the store just as you pull the trigger. In cities everyone should be able to have a gun in the house, no problem with that. But, everyone running around with concealed weapons. A lot say if everyone was armed that would reduce crime, but remember it's a sneak attack, like a terrorist attack, gun to the head, hands up, then your weapon is now stolen so the perp now has two weapons. Three times back in the 70s there were three times people (and I use that word lightly) came at me with a knife. I saw it coming and had enough time to take the CS out of my hat and shoot them in the face. Kept all three about eight feet away. I'm now retired and living in a safe Philadelphia suburb and have no reason to be in those parts of Philadelphia where they shoot each other everyday, driving the cab I had to be. Now a days I go to Center City (what we call downtown Philadelphia) and it's pretty safe. Though I do go with a small pocket size tube of pepper spray. Hey, you never know, but remember, it's useless because my hands would be in the air and the pepper spray would be in my pocket. Be just my luck he'd go through my pockets and he'd steal my pepper spray. Needless to say, since June 03 and for the rest of my life if I'm ever seen in a taxi I'll be in the back seat. My license expired in Nov 02 and I didn't bother getting it renewed, the train is just fine.

I never said he was soft on crime, only squishy as overcooked macaroni on illegal immigration. I thought I already explained that I posted that rant on the wrong subject, not that I don’t mean it.

Meow, if he wants to take all my guns away, that’s a different story.

LickyLicky on January 18, 2008 at 1:57 AM

Illegal Immigration is a crime, and supposed to be enforced BY THE FEDS, as Rudy has said ALL ALONG!

He said as much going way back to 1982, said the same thing as mayor! The feds will not do their jobs(do you think the federal government is NOT negligent? do the feds deport enough illegals? do they deport even 20% of the people sent to them? NO), put Rudy in the WH, and you will see some aggressive enforcement.

I have no doubts.
(He has had to deal with the Feds lack of enforcement for so long I bet he's just itching to fix this problem, he also loves a challenge.)

I never said he was soft on crime, only squishy as overcooked macaroni on illegal immigration. I thought I already explained that I posted that rant on the wrong subject, not that I don't mean it.

Meow, if he wants to take all my guns away, that's a different story.

I bet those awkward, fat fools crapped their loose-fitting tighty whities when the cops raided their house. I hope that beautiful antique clock on the sideboard wasn't damaged in the scuffle.

Did I just totally rant off on a different subject? HA! Bad day, I guess. Back to the subject at hand...

All for guns. All for the 2nd. All for the right to protect what is mine and myself, also. I'd have NO problem shooting someone who way trying to harm my family or friends. In fact, with regards to personal protection, I just got this in an email:

Mom told me this morning that Newell Normand, Sherriff, came on tv to say that the increased gang activity e-mails circulating are a hoax, and that may be true. However, an acquaintance of Matt and mine was shot last night in front of his home in Marrero for no reason at all. He had just arrived home from work between 6 and 6:30 pm and got out of his truck to walk to his front door when two men with guns walked up and each took a shot at him. He was shot once in each leg. Unfortunately, one bullet hit an artery and he bled out and was not breathing by the time he reached the hospital. He was rushed into surgery and is currently still in critical condition. They said that even if he does survive, there may be loss of limbs and loss of quality of life. I am so sad because he is my age and has a wife and two small babies. He was not robbed and he is definitely not involved with drugs. I can think of no other reason for this crime other than gang initiation. So take from this what you will, but please be careful and always be aware of your surroundings.
Andrea

I believe that if they thought he had a gun in his truck, like my dad does, they may have hesitated in shooting him. Years ago, when we lived in FL, a man walked up to my husband's car and started harassing him. Our young son was in the car with him. Hubby told him repeatedly to leave, but he banged on the window, tried to open the door, all that good stuff. Finally, when he had a .380 pointed at his forehead, he got the message. Had there been no gun, where might that have gone? I completely agree that just the thought that maybe every law-abiding citizen is carrying and ready to use is one of the best deterrents available.

Rudy is an illegal's dream. That's one thing that those who were not blinded by the lights in Times Square when he was mayor can see. Maybe he feels justified because NY was such a big entry point for so many immigrants for many years past. He's made so many statements over the course of this debate defending their right to be here that to say he wants them out for real and not just to pander that to say otherwise is just playing ostrich.

New Orleans has had a HUGE upswing of illegals since the storm. It's all you see, all you hear, and all you can stand. I work in insurance, and I deal with the 'no habla' type all the time. The ones who have no insurance and end up causing problems for those of us who do. The chatter of spanish in store aisles and almost incomprehensible english at the counter is appalling. The ones who have absolutely no desire to become one with us, but just to use our goodwill and programs. Those are the ones I have a problem with. The ones who have no desire to contribute to our society, but just take what we have to offer. The ones who don't want the responsibility of being American but who want all the rights, freedoms, liberties, and benefits that being an American comes with. The ones who make themselves victims and then expect us to take care of problems they create themselves. All the whining and crying about 'shadow people' is total BS. If you can't deal with the consequences of a certain action, don't put yourself in that position. Just like the thief who breaks into a home and gets a beatdown by the homeowner and cries about it. No breaky law, no beaty down.

I want this to stop. I want my tax dollars to stop going to programs to help those who have no desire to contribute back into the system but instead, send their money to another country. I've said it before, and I will again in regards to those who say that they do jobs no American will: If I have to pay 2.00 more a pound for steak, and an extra .50 a head for lettuce because you have to pay legal workers, then I'll have a salad with my T-bone. I know that in the end, the extra money I pay out for those things will come back to me by way of lower taxes, money going to improve America and Americans'lives, and a much lower burden on our programs designed to help those who legitimately qualify for it.

Does this subject make me angry? Yes. Do I sound mean? Probably. Do I care? Nope.

P.S.

I can't help but giggle a little after watching that video thinking about those two drunk and high on the couch playing Xbox (bought with dope money) as the flash-bang crashes through the living room window and the SWAT team busts in EVERY glassed opening in the house at that same time. I'll bet $10 one of those two were crying when it happened.

Furthermore I don’t give a rats a$$ how many guns you own, it’s your attitude regarding gun ownership that would profoundly offend our founding fathers and does offend me.

WHAT!
I believe in the 2nd Amendment!

And I also, believe that reasonable controls can and should be put on them.. Not ANYMORE THAT ALREADY HAVE BEEN..

But, to think, that NO CONTROLS WHAT SO EVER is the solution, is just pretty ridiculous.

Thats what law enforcement is for.

No it's not. In fact, according to the SCOTUS the police are not required to protect anyone, or for that matter even show up when you call. They are little more than garbage men, they clean up the mess afterwards.

Furthermore I don't give a rats a$$ how many guns you own, it's your attitude regarding gun ownership that would profoundly offend our founding fathers and does offend me.

Try and get this FACT clear in your mind. Gun ownership is not a privilege. Our founding fathers considered it not merely a right, but a sacred duty, an obligation that every citizen was under.

You can choose how you exercise your rights, what you cannot choose is whether you have a right. Our founding fathers paid a very dear price to ensure that you had that specific right. Their wording could not have been any more explicit. SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.

What is a damned shame here is that you have in fact been brainwashed in believing the values of socialism and at the same time deceived into thinking your socialist values are genuine conservative democratic values.

Firearms are secondary only to the Constitution in importance; they are the peoples liberty teeth. -- George Washington

Arms in the hands of citizens may be used at individual discretion….in private self defense. -- John Adams

The constitution shall never be contrued..to prevent the people of the United States who are peacable citizens from keeping their own arms. -- Samuel Adams

Horrid miscief would ensue were the law abiding deprived the use of them..the weak will become the prey of the strong. -- Thomas Paine

Never trust a government that does not trust it’s own citizens with guns. And the true reason for abolition- Benjamin Franklin

The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves from tyranny in government. -- Thomas Jefferson

That does NOT mean that I carry a weapon with me everywhere I go, nor do most people want to carry a weapon on their person and you cannot force them to..

Thats what law enforcement is for.

That's why 48 states have concealed carry laws? Because people don't want to carry them? Oh, wait, you go by appearances. If you don't see the holsters, you figure the guns aren't there. Well, just try exercising your constitutionally protected right to open carry. In many places, you'll be hassled by cops, potentially cited for disorderly conduct or mayhem(an act of terrorism now thanks to the Patriot Act) or another related charge, potentially arrested, and potentially have your weapon confiscated. Oh, and good luck getting it back.

Now why in the world wouldn't you see more people open carrying, HMMM? Why in the world would concealed carry be so popular, HMMM?

You're drinking the Kool-aid, pal. However, this doesn't surprise me with the way you've been trolling with old sound bytes about Fred long since debunked.
