Video: Chris Matthews emotes over Obama

posted at 5:25 pm on January 17, 2008 by Allahpundit

Another mitigating factor to a GOP loss to Obama in the fall — it’ll put dimwits like this, with his Sunni/Shiite matrix for Republicans, out of business.

Exit question: Doesn’t crap like this hurt Obama ultimately? The more you raise expectations, the easier it is to disappoint.

Poor Leno.

I have a question: Is Matthews a transsexual? I think he sounds more like a woman when he whines like this.

MadisonConservative on January 17, 2008 at 5:29 PM

Well didnt Chrissy work for Tip O Neil ?

William Amos on January 17, 2008 at 5:31 PM

Stock tip: Kimberly-Clark, Inc.

Chrissy and his friends will be needing a lot of Kleenex come the night of Nov. 4.

Brat on January 17, 2008 at 5:31 PM

For crying out loud, Chris, MAN UP!

Just imagine the puddle he left behind on that couch.

Oh, and I thought we weren’t supposed to question each other’s patriotism. As a guy who doesn’t get all weepy and doe-eyed everytime Alfred E. Neuman gives a speech, I find Matthew’s overheated rhetoric really irritating.

Kensington on January 17, 2008 at 5:31 PM

I think I’m going to cry….If either one the defeatocrats gets elected.

Eventually, but not yet. But do you know who crap like this really helps? Mitt Romney. /HH

Spirit of 1776 on January 17, 2008 at 5:34 PM

Matthews has quite a track record for man-crushes on donk male politicians over the years. I wish someone would make a tape of all his combined gushing. He really does come across as teh ghey.

Blake on January 17, 2008 at 5:36 PM

Nobody needs or wants this little political parasite telling them they aren’t American. Blow it out your ear Matthews . . . or the orifice of your choice.

rplat on January 17, 2008 at 5:36 PM

He drools out of his lip-less mouth way more than he pees out of his eyes……..

awesum on January 17, 2008 at 5:37 PM

Is this b*tch questioning my patriotism?

Editor on January 17, 2008 at 5:37 PM

Hack.

Dr.Cwac.Cwac on January 17, 2008 at 5:38 PM

Wow. I literally almost threw up.

Vigilante on January 17, 2008 at 5:43 PM

That pepperoni pizza I had for lunch tasted better the first time.

Torch on January 17, 2008 at 5:44 PM

So if I don’t cry like a baby at an Obama speech, I’m not an American? Let’s ask all of the soldiers who don’t support Obama what they think of that.

Exit question: Doesn’t crap like this hurt Obama ultimately? The more you raise expectations, the easier it is to disappoint.

You’re basing that on the assumption The Messiah can disappoint. He has “hope”. He could come in dead last and not disappoint, because he has “hope”. Oh, and can make hacks like Matthews cry.

amerpundit on January 17, 2008 at 5:45 PM

Did he just admit he wants his “corporate, white” guilt to be over with already? Sickening.

Vigilante on January 17, 2008 at 5:45 PM

What a whiny idiot.

Hardball…not.

Would that it did.

But it doesn’t.

Typhoon on January 17, 2008 at 5:48 PM

So is Chris trying to tell us that Obama is “cool”? He should really be less ambiguous about these things… this jousnalistic objectivity is really getting tiresome; for once I would just like to know how Matthews *feels* about things…

kiltedscotsman5 on January 17, 2008 at 5:53 PM

Is it really very American to have a muslim father with three wives? Multiculturalists may say so, but culturists do not.

Edwards says he wouldn’t be an honest reporter if he didn’t tell you that hearing Obama’s cliche stump speech “YES WE CAN” is a spiritual experience? What of Obama’s support for the muslim leader causing the Kenyan election turmoil via murder and rape? What of the politics of the church B. Hussein Obama attends and supports? What of his policies for to reach his dreamy stump speech goals? Are honest journalists just supposed to tell you about their emotional experience with no reference to records, facts or substantive questions?

Mind-blowing!!

Regardless of who wins the White House (but especially if the Dems win), I’ve been wondering what Stewart, Colbert, Matthews and Olbermann are going to do for material. Where is all the Bush hatred among the nutroots going to be redirected to?

My answer? It won’t be.

The nutroots and leftist politicians will STILL blame everything on Bush, somehow, for at least two years after he’s left office.

Hawkins1701 on January 17, 2008 at 5:56 PM

We’re so screwed.

Jim-Rose on January 17, 2008 at 5:57 PM

What did I do? Why should I feel guilty? For being White? Give me a friggin break.

P.S. I listened to Obama and I felt nothing.

UncleZeb on January 17, 2008 at 5:57 PM

Huck and Fred = Shiites
John and Rudy = Sunni
Barrack = spiritual????????

Wow….we are doomed.

“If you don’t cry, you’re not an American.”

If you don’t throw up, you’re not a Republican.

scatbug on January 17, 2008 at 6:08 PM

The Iraq=Republicans analogy shows why Chris Matthews can’t be taken seriously. The only time he could put out this kind of garbage is on a talk show that he won’t be questioned.

It strongly gave me the impression that anytime a situation is complicated, it is in his mine and Iraq, therefore bad. It also shows how utterly shallow his understanding of Iraq and Republicans is. What a twit.

Patrick_Lasswell on January 17, 2008 at 6:11 PM

Did Matthews just call himself a REPORTER? How loosely can you use that term?

PappaMac on January 17, 2008 at 6:13 PM

What was that “married to a black woman” thing about? Would it be different if his wife were not black? I mean in Matthews’ eyes.

baldilocks on January 17, 2008 at 6:19 PM

I just had a thought. (Careful…) If Obama is soooo mesmerizing, has such a way with a crowd, after coming out of almost nowhere with little in the way of experience…

Could he be the Antichrist?

Discuss.

manwithblackhat on January 17, 2008 at 6:28 PM

Nah. Funny thing. People said just about that same exact thing about Jimmy Carter.

And Carter wasn’t the Antichrist. he was just a not-ready-for-primetime clueless naive politician.

Ahem.

Typhoon on January 17, 2008 at 6:32 PM

Matthews’ emphasis on the Obamas being “cool” says much more about Matthews than it does the Obamas.

It will be a great day for America when the last baby boomer dies.

Infidoll on January 17, 2008 at 6:34 PM

Should this guy be doing election coverage after drooling over Barack like this? I’m never seen Brit Hume say something like this.

AbaddonsReign on January 17, 2008 at 6:34 PM

scatbug on January 17, 2008 at 6:08 PM

Are there any adults on the left?

fogw on January 17, 2008 at 6:39 PM

What a fool

Yes being cool, black white and happy is gonna solve the problems we face as a nation here in the next few years.

TroubledMonkey on January 17, 2008 at 6:53 PM

We can end the racial divide if we vote for Obama? MSNBC could grab the next guy walking down the street and he’d probably undersdtand American history and politics better than Matthews.

He may replace Oberdork as the strangest man alive.

Naaaa ! ! He’ll always be 2nd fiddle.

Texyank on January 17, 2008 at 6:56 PM

Oberdork is in charge at MSNBC. There is a thin line between liberalism and insanity. Oberdork, Casper and MSNBC have crosed it.

volsense on January 17, 2008 at 7:07 PM

What a tool Matthews is. I’m actually embarrassed for him. Somebody’s gotta do it. He’s too much of a dim bulb to be embarrassed for himself.

AUINSC on January 17, 2008 at 7:16 PM

I belong in Chris Matthews non american class.

Matthew is losing it. I would have though Allah would have put such gibberish alongside Hugh Hewitt determination of political pundits.

I don’t think so. Transexuals are generally more masculine than Chris Matthews.

Obama Rally = Spiritual Experience.

Apocalypse Now!

ronsfi on January 17, 2008 at 8:15 PM

Chris Matthews is desperately lacking in manhood.

therightwinger on January 17, 2008 at 8:18 PM

If anyone thinks socialist pandering is spiritual, then there is no help for them. I guess he cries while watching old Stalin clips.

nottakingsides on January 17, 2008 at 8:42 PM

Chris is a two timer, I remember his remarks when BJ Clinton campaigned for Kerry and I swear he cried while describing how great the former president looked. I think he’s a tad easy.

smellthecoffee on January 18, 2008 at 12:32 AM

And Chris Matthews represents the Palestinians. But he can not grow a scraggly beard like his hero Arafat and the Pizza Hut table cloth would clash with his pale skin.

This is one confused reporter and can not be trusted with the truth.

MSGTAS on January 18, 2008 at 8:23 AM

The thing I’m most reminded of by this sycophantic display is the headline to PJ O’Rourke’s brilliantly nasty takedown of a recent book of Arthur Schlesinger Jr.’s journals:

Dear Diary, I Think I’m In Love

Alex_SF on January 18, 2008 at 9:26 AM

Chris Matthews is such shill and a putz.

If the Republicans are all different tribes of Iraq to him, what does that make Chris Matthews and his liberal clan?

Iran? Part of the “Mahmoud Ahmadinejad” regime of politics? It at least explains why the Democrats don’t want to do anything about Iran. They’re one big, nutty, crazy, dysfunctional, happy family….;-)

If Obama is the Anti-Christ, Oprah is going to be so pissed.

Geronimo on January 18, 2008 at 11:41 AM

Wow Chris – how clever – comparing the Republican candidates to Islamic factions. Methinks maybe a little attempt there to shift the focus off of the only presidential candidate with any Islamic background whatsoever – Obama.
