And gets his ass fact-checked for his trouble. It’s a follow-up to yesterday’s post about Hillary’s teachers union trying to block Obama’s culinary union in court by objecting to rules not only agreed to long ago by the DNC but which, per the clip, even ABC’s political reporters have known about for months. When was the suit filed? Two days after the culinary workers endorsed Obama. Nuance.
The Sun says the mayor of Oakland tried to pull Clinton away, but to no avail.

thejackal on January 17, 2008 at 9:35 AM
Typical Clinton – do we really want 4 – 8 more years of thes people? Say anything, do anything to get elected – that’s the Clinton doctrine.
jdawg on January 17, 2008 at 9:36 AM
Notice how the older he gets, and the more often he opens his mouth to say something, that is when the REAL Bill Clinton, the one he and his entourage have for years tried to hide from public view, comes out? I am just happy to see that this time, they got it on videotape, to be played over and over again.
pilamaye on January 17, 2008 at 9:37 AM
Clintons unopposed: Peace, tranquility, roses and daisies, puppies and kittens playing with children, etc.
Clintons challenged: Harumph! Harrumphh!!
thejackal on January 17, 2008 at 9:39 AM
heh heh heh, the Clintons aren’t used to being asked tough questions…they can’t handle it. And really, how tough was the question? I guess they’ve been handled with kid gloves their entire political careers, and are unprepared. Yet another reason we need to ensure an adult wins the presidency.
JustTruth101 on January 17, 2008 at 9:41 AM
No, but I do want to face them in the general.
amerpundit on January 17, 2008 at 9:42 AM
Anyone else get the ‘I did not have sex with that woman’ vibe in his tone? He still thinks he’s the president and people should do what he says and believe him because of it.
This guy is washed up in terms of credibility. He’s upset that now his wife is going to be upset that she doesn’t win the presidency. He wants to be back on Air Force One. He wouldn’t have stayed with Hillary if it wasn’t for the possibility of her winning the presidency.
The Clintons are the train wreck that they created for themselves. Looks like KP might have to change her tune for the general.
ThackerAgency on January 17, 2008 at 9:46 AM
That is a strange way to tally votes. Thanks for the info.
Vanbasten on January 17, 2008 at 9:46 AM
Since some staffers have been abandoning Hillary, the old trusty standby wasn’t available for moments like these. The had a staff member who would stand out of camera range and wave a McDonald’s sausage, egg and cheese McMuffin thus drawing Billy’s attention away from the problem.
Fred!
RobertInAustin on January 17, 2008 at 9:46 AM
what is he talking about when he says their vote will be worth 5 times more? I get the feeling that was fine by him when they thought Hillary was going to get the endorsement, but now its a problem?
ctmom on January 17, 2008 at 9:47 AM
This is ridiculous. Of course the timing should be questioned. It was clear to everyone how the rules were laid out. Everyone was perfectly fine with the decision until the Clinton supporters found out that all the foodservice workers in all of those hotels and casinos were backing Obama. They talk about republicans disenfranchising voters all the time, now look at them. But like everything else, it’s fine when democrats do it, and even finer when it’s the Clintons.

Loved the finger poking and red light on his face.
Regarding the link, I always wondered what happened to Commie Ron Dellums. Mayor of Oakland- figures.

This week marks the 10th anniversary of the (non)sexual affair Bubba didn’t have with the woman he didn’t have it with. Should have sent a card.

Come here, boy! Come here, Billy! You know you want it, yes you do! That’s a good boy.
amerpundit on January 17, 2008 at 9:50 AM
I love the line from Coulter and I use it with people who think Clinton was so great. Clinton did leave his mark on history, and it probably won’t wash out.
It gets em so pissy, becuase they know its true and that is his legacy.
Fred!
RobertInAustin on January 17, 2008 at 9:50 AM
It’s amusing to see the Clintons struggle now that their free media ride is over.
Laura on January 17, 2008 at 9:53 AM
Ooooh, testes… I mean, testy!
Frozen Tex on January 17, 2008 at 9:53 AM
It’s so typical of the bullying that Bill Clinton has always done. Back when he was president, a woman named Abigail Thornstrom asked him a question about affirmative action and Clinton unloaded on her. He piled on the questions demanding that she admit that liberal affirmative action programs worked perfectly and produced Colin Powell. The video must be available somewhere. It is a typical Clinton tactic. Clinton is used to fawning interviews with Larry King, Diane Sawyer and Katie Couric. He can’t control himself when he is not being interviewed by a servile flatterer like Larry King.
Larraby on January 17, 2008 at 9:54 AM
Mmmmmm…. Sausage ‘n’ Egg McMuffin…. The only McFood I’ll eat anymore…. mmmmm.
Frozen Tex on January 17, 2008 at 9:55 AM
Notice how Clinton admits both that Democrat voters are stupid while the Democrat party is trying to subvert the caucus process in his response:
Quite the admission.
The only thing missing was the finger wag.
Texas Rainmaker on January 17, 2008 at 9:55 AM
I think that is a very real possibility. IT would be so nice if we could finally drive a stake through the heart of the Clinton machine once and for all. It would be even nicer if we had a tough, Reaganesqu candidate who could do it. If we end up with yet another RINO, like McAmnesty, it’s finished.
jdawg on January 17, 2008 at 9:57 AM
Reaganesqu = Reaganesque
I need more coffee. Seriously.
jdawg on January 17, 2008 at 9:57 AM
Looks like Obama has caused the CLinton’s media shield to come down.
Now the Clintons have only one way to influence elections: dirty tricks.
I hope the media is paying close attention to what the Clintons do now. I suspect it will be very easy to catch them with their hand in the cookie jar…
unamused on January 17, 2008 at 9:58 AM
I have to agree with Lewis Black, how the hell that man got elected I will never know. When he campaigned he actually said “As my time as governor of Arkansas, I took our schools from 50th in the nation, to 48th”
Really? How did you do that Bubba, did someone find a box of pencils? Oh, look here Jimmy Bob, you no longer how to use a stick to draw in the dirt.
Fred!
RobertInAustin on January 17, 2008 at 10:01 AM
Personally, I think it is more of the passive/aggressive Clinton that has to be supportive of his spouse when he has absolutely no interest in seeing her elected.

They say that couples who are married long enough start to look alike, seems the Clintons are following right along with that.
Entitled and arrogant, both of them need to keep their digits to themselves.

Texas Rainmaker hits it. If for one moment we concede Clinton’s point of 5:1, it is interesting that the loaded imbalance was fine for Hillary until it went against them.
What a huckster……ooops……

amkun on January 17, 2008 at 10:34 AM
Ten years ago today! Although the “I did not have sexual relations with that woman” speech wasn’t until January 26th. Somebody really should do something to commemorate the occasion. Hero status to anyone who gets on camera handing him a cigar.
Jim Treacher on January 17, 2008 at 10:38 AM
Physicians Oath: First, do no harm.
Clinton’s Oath: Always, leave no fingerprints.
The Howard Dean political beast was slain with one “Yeaa-rgh!”
The HClinton political dream may die from a thousand small cuts such as this. BClinton is either consciously or sub-consciously torpedoing his wifes campaign. An attempt to disenfranchise voters in LV who might vote against HClinton now that Obama has won the endorsement of their union? Every union member in America should look hard at both their leadership and the Clintons. And then vote Republican, as they did in droves in 2004.
Doug on January 17, 2008 at 10:39 AM
How Presidential.
jukin on January 17, 2008 at 10:39 AM
The Clintons believe in following the rules only when it is to their benefit. Otherwise they will challenge any rules by parsing and legally disecting longstanding doctrine in a way that can only favor them.
This is only the tip of the iceberg. Just wait until they challenge the 22nd amendment to the Constitution so Hill can get Bill as her running mate.

fogw on January 17, 2008 at 10:40 AM
Without a doubt. Think about it, what does Bill Clinton really gain by his spouse’s election. He’s back in DC but not the center of attention. He’s back in the media spotlight and his personal life is controlled by the requirements of his role as first lady. Do you really see Bill Clinton voluntarily signing up for that?
highhopes on January 17, 2008 at 10:43 AM
OBX Pete,
Bill Clinton is following in the same footsteps of that other great democrat president, Jimmah Cartah. They just don’t know when to shut up and go gracefully into oblivion, where they belong.
belad on January 17, 2008 at 10:43 AM
It’s great to see the MSM give the Clintons such a hard time; but we know it’ll stop the moment Hillary wins the nomination. We should enjoy it while we can. It may end after February 5.
infidel65 on January 17, 2008 at 10:48 AM
caucusing is really archaic. all primarys should be closed except to party members, and should be primary style with all day voting stations. caucusing disenfranchises too many people who are unable to leave work or otherwise attend a 2-3 hour caucus session. and if you’re a registered independent, what the hell are you doing helping the Donk or Gop elect their candidate? you want a vote in my primary? join my party.
DrW on January 17, 2008 at 10:49 AM
I would have liked to see the reporters next question be,”Since it appears the obama campaign was aware of the rules and the clinton campaign wasn’t, why should the people of nevada vote for someone as clueless as your wife?”
peacenprosperity on January 17, 2008 at 10:51 AM
Seriously. Hillary is going to live to regret the day she busted out her “secret weapon”. Turns it out backfired and is responsible for the majority of the negative publicity plaguing her campaign right now.
amkun on January 17, 2008 at 10:54 AM
I’m waiting for the Huckabee camp to spin when their media love fest is over.
Mcguyver on January 17, 2008 at 11:09 AM
I’m still not sure I understood the intricacies of that kerfuffle, but I give the reporter solid props for explaining it as the story was being set up and as the video aired. It’s the type of detail usually missing from TV news that John Hockenberry bemoaned in his recent lengthy piece that was linked here.
I think if our former prez keeps going on like this and Hillary gets the general election nom, the GOP should be paying him to turn up at Republican events and just point him in the direction of the cameras.
Part of the problem with having been president so young is that he’ll be around far too long to spout off to any camera rolling.
Captain Scarlet on January 17, 2008 at 11:39 AM
My thought exactly. This is who you want to run the country, who doesn’t understand simple campaign rules? What happens when a treaty gets put on her desk, she comes back six months later and whines about it…correction, Bill comes back six months later and has a prissy fit…”we didn’t understand”.
right2bright on January 17, 2008 at 11:40 AM
Okay people this is what you will see EVERYDAY if there is a Hill-Bill POTUS. Great for HA and other blog traffic and talk radio fodder. Bad for the country and my sanity.
I’ve said it here before and I’ll say it again. Vote for your candidate in the primaries, but just vote for the man with the R beside his name in the general, no matter who it is, and don’t sit this one out. Hint: Be not afraid; it won’t be Huck or McCain.
Brat on January 17, 2008 at 11:40 AM
Well, since you asked that question in an accusatory manner, I am going to forced to wag my finger at you…don’t make me do it…don’t…I’ll do it….don’t
d1carter on January 17, 2008 at 11:50 AM
I find it funny that the DNC requires voter ID in the Nevada caucuses. I thought they were against voter ID.
indianaconservative on January 17, 2008 at 11:53 AM
Unhinged.
No campaign in history has done more to lose an election than this one.
To date they have attacked the media, African-Americans, unions, voters, and men.
Even the craziest leftists are having a hard time supporting them at this point. Read some leftist blogs to see the evidence for yourself.

Apparently HRC’s pandering to the illegal alien lobby in Vegas didn’t help. I can smell the flop-sweat from Cally-fornia.
Yep, I’m all for Billy bein’ First Man; he won’t have to speak to all them ack-que-say-shuns then. I kin’t wait to see him wanderin’ ’round the WH with his pants down around his ankles crying about how he ‘kan’t git no satisfaction’.
He could make more than Hilly by attaching a camera to his head and starting the first American Nero ‘reality’ show.

How can a vote have 5 times more weight than a regular vote? I’m not getting that.
SoulGlo on January 17, 2008 at 3:41 PM
I hate to say this, but it seems to me that the only times that I have ever seen President Clinton get mad have always been accompanied by, or followed by someone proving that he wasn’t telling the truth. I wonder if he gets mad because people force him to be dishonest and it causes anger. One of these days, I’ll put together a compilation of videos of Clinton rage moments to prove my point (I did not have sex with that woman…) Remember how angry he was when he said that?

So, the smartest woman in the world, and the smartest woman in the world’s advisors and supporters couldn’t understand the rules of their own party’s primary election rules until the last minute? So obviously we can trust her and her advisers with international intrigue like the actions of Putin, North Korea, Iran because those are much less complicated and complex issues than caucus voting in Nevada.
While Bill Engvall’s world of certain people wearing a sign to identify them as stupid has not come to pass, we do have a certain ability to identify those people by Hillary for President bumper stickers and campaign buttons.
deepdiver on January 17, 2008 at 8:33 PM
Bill was always at his most passionate and convincing when he was lying through his gritted teeth.
Once we figured that out, his legacy was toast.
