Huck hucks up again, says he would ban pretty much all political speech unless it’s kid tested and candidate approved

Well, no wonder the Huckabee people like McCain so much. When it comes to free speech, they’re both agin’ it.
I personally wish that all of this was outlawed. I think that every candidates should speak for themselves, and that every thing that involves the candidate’s name or another candidate’s name should be authorized and approved by that candidate, otherwise it shouldn’t be spoken….
The point is that candidates can’t force these special interest 527 groups to stop. I wish we could.
The “this” that Huckabee wishes was outlawed is push polling, but he takes the riff much farther than that with the “every thing that involves a candidate’s name…should be approved by the candidate” line. It doesn’t take a Constitutional scholar to see that that would mean the end of the First Amendment, at least in a political context. But since we’re on the McCain-Feingold free speech slip n slide, we might as well just get a good run and dive in head first. At least that’s what Huck seems to think.
But don’t worry. By tomorrow he’ll have signed a pledge promising to protect the First Amendment as his bff. Because he’s tough. And smart. And not winging his entire frakkin campaign at all.

Excellent. Excellent. Excellent! Skidd! Thank you.
John Adams statement was a result of a conflict between Christian America and Muslim nations. I believe that was a temporary statement of some type to make peace at the time. There are other documents that completely disprove the notion that any founding President, especially Washington, ever declared that America was not a Christian nation or people.
I haven’t read about it in awhile though.

Mr. 76, I don’t believe Gov. Huckabee has acted in bad faith; deception by pretending to entertain one set of intentions while acting under the influence of another. I believe he is an honest man. Sure, he makes mistakes and isn’t a slicked-up-spin-meister-used-car-salesman type like all of us are used to seeing in American politics, but he is running on innovative approaches to governing and Conservative principles.
Who is Mike Huckabee?

Wishing someone to hell is a scary thing to do. With all my many faults I wouldn’t want to do it. I do not make this statement lightly. Hell is much worse than anything any living human being can ever imagine. Hate me for saying this, but I sincerely hope and pray that all of you reading will believe the truth concerning the reality of Hell, and give your life to Jesus, while you are alive. It is only in this lifetime in which you can repent (turn away from sin and receive Jesus).

No matter how pure of heart the budding Mr. Smith is, when a newly elected politician arrives in Washington. He is met with a phalanx of lobbyists representing their various special interests. If this was not enough, the senior members in his own party are going to be working on him to. He will learn real quick that he must accept their influence and gifts or he is doomed.
The whole concept of campaign finance reform was a feeble attempt to try and cure the aforementioned problem. Almost every facet of our political system has been corrupted by the various special interest. So consequently, the votes made in Washington tend to favor those special interest groups. The money, favors and power enables the politician to do the lobbyists bidding while pretending to serve one’s constituents.
All politicians in Washington, regardless of party affiliation are without exception dirty as crack whores. In fact to make a perfect analogy; a crackhead will steal $1000 object and sell it for five dollars, or what ever it cost to get high on crack.
The politician will mis-direct $50 million, in order to garner $10,000.
Trust me, I would be willing to bet money that William Jefferson is not the only politician with $90,000 in his freezer.
So what is the solution?
Term limits? I don’t know the answer. The corruption in our system has evolved for over 200 years.
I think a good start would be to elect Fred Thompson for president. I think he can communicate to the American people want our true problems are. And hopefully then, we can address them.

Better to have a guy who puts a Mexican consulate in Little Rock, Arkansas, and charges them a dollar a year lease, right? Or would prefer to overide sanctions on Cuba so he can sell them Arkansan rice. I’ll bet Tyson Foods is salivating at the prospect of having their puppet as CiC.

Uh, yes, otherwise what sense does it mean to say things like, “We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that… Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed…”
The Founders were not anarchists, y’know. If you don’t think you are governed, then run naked down Main St. and see what happens.

We are governed by the rule of law, not the whim of a ruling class. This is a profoundly important bedrock of American philosophy. We the people consent to having a government administer the law in strict accordance with the constraints erected within the Constitution.

The American Founders and the philosophers whose works they studied had far better understanding than that of the Americans’ present-day politicians. Will Americans return to studying the works of Madison, Jefferson, Adams, Locke, Machiavelli, Aristotle, and Plato, or will they go on making asses of themselves and destroy their federated republics sooner rather than later?

MB4,
Are you including abiogenesis in your statement here or are you just refering to evolution?
Because if you are, who knows, maybe you are right and those conveniently positive accidents that took place vastly or not so vastly apart may have been enough to put together a single life form.
It may just have been enough to accidentally put together everything necessary for protection, feeding, reproduction and the program-like instict to even bother to do those things.
It may just have been that no negative accidents could have taken place that would have ripped that single proto-life form apart.
You could be right, and your viewpoint doesn’t represent any kind of faith whatsoever.
How convenient to put the god you do not believe in into a box of your own design and then say he can not exist.
You maybe right here as well. You have totally ripped that strawman god to shreds. It could not be that the real God has declared that he always existed before his creation (and that includes time).
You have demonstrated well your lack of faith.
