Video: TO cries after the Boys blow it
posted at 10:10 am on January 14, 2008 by Bryan
Alright Cowboy haters, here’s your moment of zen: TO crying in the post-game press conference after the Cowboys became the first #1 seed since the NFL playoff format was changed in 1990 to lose its playoff opener. The suffering of the world’s most egotistical athlete will bring pleasure to many. If I wasn’t a Cowboy fan, I’d revel in it myself.
The Cowboys can rightly point to very flawed officiating, from the 3rd-down offsides call that led to the Giants’ first TD to the grounding call late in the 4th when Romo wasn’t under duress that pushed them back 10 and cost them a down, but the bottom line is this: The Cowboys had three chances with a short field late in the game when they knew they needed a TD. The defense did its job when the game was on the line but still within reach. But dropped balls, bad play calling and skillet-handed play from Patrick Crayton and several bad reads by Romo cost them the game. One of the league’s most lethal offenses just fell apart against a patchwork Giants secondary. They have no excuse. They won as a team all year, but lost as a team in the playoffs. They choked. It happens, but with this team it’s happened twice in two years.
But at least TO recognizes that Romo is his quarterback and thus doesn’t seem intent to divide the team over a very difficult and shocking loss. Which means there’s always next year.
Update: And don’t get me started on all the missed tackles, from the first drive to the last.

My Boys deserved to lose the way they palyed in the second half. The offensive line took a giant crap. Hell the center could not even snap the ball on time. I love the Cowboys but they CHOKED it away big time.
I love Favre. Go Pack!

Actually, they can point to coasting for the last 4 weeks rather than pumping it up and treating every game like a must win, building momentum for this key moment. And to choosing TO over one of the best coaches in the game.

Great game with a great outcome. I don’t hate the Cowboys as a team, but I sure have a great dislike for their owner, Jerry Jones. So it was good watching him on the sidelines the last few minutes of the game.
As for T.O., Ray Nitschke never wore an earring…Go Packers!

The ‘Boys can never lose enough for me.
Owens crying like a little girl after the game just made it more special.
Go Jints!!

I got the impression they were SO SURE they were going to score that the clock didn’t matter. All it meant was that the Giants wouldn’t have time to come back and win after the Cowboys’ got their inevitable touchdown.

Peyton Manning and the Colts lost because Fred Thompson cursed him.

Damn…I was hoping for a Colts rematch in the AFC Championship and then watch the Pats squash the Cowboys in the Super Bowl.

Too bad Dallas lost. I was looking forward to seeing the Patriots beat them AGAIN in the Superbowl. Oh well, any team will do. I hope the Packers make it. Although I have a Giants fan next to me at work and busting his balls is always fun.
Go Patriots.

Sad day for me yesterday, too, but I can’t say I didn’t see something coming after the December the Cowboys had. It was quite a year, but this hurts.
Go Pack! Go Favre!

Bryan, the Chargers were the #1 seed last year and they lost their playoff opener.

The pats have barely been winning their games recently, they got so lucky that the Colts had a horrible game, and lost this time..
I too was looking forward to a rematch and the Colts beating up on the pats.

Bwahahahahaha!!!!!!!! The Cowboys losing and T.O. crying…I could never get tired of that!

TO is an idiot. What happened to, “I’m not the one who got tired during the Super Bowl?” I guess the Eagles didn’t lose the Super Bowl as a team. It was only the quarterback then.
But now, suddenly, it’s as a team. I’m so touched that I’m going to sob now. That’s the sweetest thing.
Or maybe Drew Rosenhaus actually revised his policy so Owens won’t be switching teams so much. That I could go for. Kind of.

I thought I heard the WAAAAAAAAAAmbulance, and I was right. I click on Hot Air and there’s Bryan’s Cryboys excuse post. I don’t want to kick a good man when he’s down, but the boys really haven’t done anything since beating an injury riddled Packer team. I really think they peaked too early. A Pats and Dallas team from earlier this season, would have make a good matchup for the Bowl.
If it helps any at all, I don’t think any of the teams left are a serious threat too the Pats. (even my beloved Pack) Any win after our 10th, is frosting on the cake as far as I’m concerned. At the start of the season, I thought we (Packers) would be fighting Detroit for the NFC North. Like Obama, I’m just living the fairy tale and rooting the Pack on til the last final gun.
oakpack on January 14, 2008 at 5:51 PM
I disagree. Certainly the Pats should be favored, but I believe the Packers have the offensive firepower to hang with the Pats…and maybe, just maybe…those corners can slow Moss and Company down enough for the Packers to pull off the upset. Gotta take of business this week though. The Giants are no pushover.

I’ve rooted against the Cowboys ever since Jones humiliated the most classy person to ever work for the team–Tom Landry.
T. O. makes it even easier to root against them!
