I wish him well and will include him in my prayers, but we gotta remember that a cancer diagnosis isn’t always a death sentence anymore. Todays medical treatments have resulted in what used to be called miracles. Tony Snow is a pretty good example.

Tim is currently op-editor for The Daily Telegraph, one of Sydney’s daily papers which is also widely read around Australia. Prior to that Tim was features editor of The Bulletin magazine (similar to Newsweek).

He counts amongst his friends, not only the people here at Hot Air, but also such luminaries as James Lileks and Iowahawk.

A blogosphere body blow.

TB was one of the first bloggers i started reading on an hourly basis back in the day right after 9/11, along with the Instaprof and a still-sane Andrew Sullivan.

Those three were the first blogs i took a rabid interest in. And as a noob at that time, I was psyched when Tim acutally replied to emails i would send him praising one post or another, mostly his on-the-money thoughts about the coming dustup with the jihadis. He also introduced me, via his blog, to Jake Ryan, the Aussie footballer whose brother was killed in the Bali bombing. Jake and I corresponded for quite awhile, though i never (or havent yet) got the chance to meet the dude.

I wish Tim and his people all the best.
