He sounds hopeful about his prognosis but is naturally dreading the road to wellness. Send him some encouragement.

Oh, geez. Best of luck to Tim and his family. My thoughts and prayers are with him.
amerpundit on January 14, 2008 at 1:30 PM
How long until the Kossaks and the Huff-n-Puffs start getting giddy with joy?
I don’t care who you are, or what you believe, cancer and death are something I wish on no one.
JamesLee on January 14, 2008 at 1:31 PM
My nephew died from cancer a year ago last October. He was only 14. Cancer is something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.
My prayers go to him and his family.
GT on January 14, 2008 at 1:31 PM
No offense to Tim, but who is he?
RWLA on January 14, 2008 at 1:31 PM
I wish him well.
William Amos on January 14, 2008 at 1:31 PM
Get well soon friend.
CABE on January 14, 2008 at 1:32 PM
My prayers are with you and your family, Tim.

A respected conservative blogger and columnist from Australia, living in Victoria. IIRC, he was an editor for several large publications at one time.
amerpundit on January 14, 2008 at 1:36 PM
Thanks, I didn’t know who he was either.
All the same, best wishes to his family, and confidence that it will be a smooth and speedy recovery.
MadisonConservative on January 14, 2008 at 1:38 PM
I pray his road to recovery is as swift and as smooth as possible.

For those of you who don’t read him, he is brilliantly witty, and his comment section is hilarious. I’ve never registered to post over there, but I read it when I need a dose of glee.

Tim Blair is hands down one of the best bloggers on the planet. His writing is concise, witty, and cuts like a knife. I always get a good chuckle — at the expense of lefties — when I read his stuff. I hope he gets well.
SWLiP on January 14, 2008 at 2:15 PM
He is THE voice of reason in a crazy coldening world.
I wish him the fastest recovery.
Clark1 on January 14, 2008 at 2:15 PM
A true freedom fighter. What a tragedy.

A blogosphere body blow.
TB was one of the first bloggers i started reading on an hourly basis back in the day right after 9/11, along with the Instaprof and a still-sane Andrew Sullivan.
Those three were the first blogs i took a rabid interest in. And as a noob at that time, I was psyched when Tim acutally replied to emails i would send him praising one post or another, mostly his on-the-money thoughts about the coming dustup with the jihadis. He also introduced me, via his blog, to Jake Ryan, the Aussie footballer whose brother was killed in the Bali bombing. Jake and I corresponded for quite awhile, though i never (or havent yet) got the chance to meet the dude.
I wish Tim and his people all the best.

He’s a great writer and a good friend. Awful news indeed.
Mr. Bingley on January 14, 2008 at 2:35 PM
Awful, awful news. May he have a speedy recovery
kyarnes on January 14, 2008 at 2:54 PM
Wow! That’s really horrible news. Tim is exceptionally funny, I enjoy his blog very much.
Did he coin “envirogelicals” and “global warmening”? If not he popularized them with me.
Get well soon Tim =/
Dash on January 14, 2008 at 2:56 PM
Tim rocks.
tree hugging sister on January 14, 2008 at 4:05 PM
tim is hilarious, absolutely the best on the web when it comes to ridiculing global warming, and he’s even funny when he makes fun of random australian lefties you’ve never heard about before.
here’s a great picture of him with john malkovich and the pope.
AdrianG on January 14, 2008 at 4:51 PM
He’s a really good guy. If working in the Australian newspaper industry hasn’t beat him, no way this is.
Jim Treacher on January 14, 2008 at 5:30 PM
On behalf of Tim Blair’s commentariate (home to the best commenters on the southern side of the equator), thank you for your best wishes on Tim’s behalf.
Tim is currently op-editor for The Daily Telegraph, one of Sydney’s daily papers which is also widely read around Australia. Prior to that Tim was features editor of The Bulletin magazine (similar to Newsweek).
He counts amongst his friends, not only the people here at Hot Air, but also such luminaries as James Lileks and Iowahawk.
Please do sent your best wishes in comments, I know they’ll be appreciated by Tim and also his posse.

I wish him well and will include him in my prayers, but we gotta remember that a cancer diagnosis isn’t always a death sentence anymore. Todays medical treatments have resulted in what used to be called miracles. Tony Snow is a pretty good example.
oldsalt on January 14, 2008 at 6:06 PM
I wish him well, it’s horrible when you first find out. My prayers are with him for a smooth and clean surgery.
And if more steps are needed, an instant and painless remission.
AprilOrit on January 14, 2008 at 6:13 PM
Tim also coined the term “Blair’s Law – the ongoing process by which the world’s multiple idiocies are becoming one giant, useless force”
Tissa on January 14, 2008 at 10:47 PM
Can’t really add anything to the comments here and over on his site. Best wishes, Tim.
