In your world no one, however the fact remains that many people do and that is their choice and free enterprise sees the clinics a need. If no one goes they close, it they make money they remain open and deliver a need to society. I see no problem with that. There are many businesses I would not use but I certainly would not judge people who do, as a wuss.

the western end of the state – though our federal rep is

Common sense in health care is important too although it is contraindicated if your a Doctor with two boats to make payments on.

A Nurse Practitioner (NP)(or advanced practice nurses) or Physician Assistant (PA) are mid level practitioners who can sign a prescription but need a MD, DO, etc as stated above for oversight, per se.

ERs are not for minor emergencies or a substitute for a physician clinic. Some hospitals have even started minor treatment centers for these minor emergencies. Clinics in pharmacies if supervised properly and legal for that state, is a great service for the community and especially if the practitioner knows when to refer the patient to a higher level of care.

That’s communism for you.

This goes beyond a learning disorder. What do you call it when someone always learns the opposite of the obvious lesson every single time?

As usual, the private sector will lead the way out of the health care mess. $4 Prescription drugs from Walmart, deep discounts from others as they compete for our business. And for treatment, armies of “nurse practitioners” and “microclinics” taking up the load from expensive emergency rooms and impossible-to-schedule doctors offices.

Government still hasn’t figured out that what is needed is new means to provide efficient delivery of healthcare…NOT health insurance!! And as long as government is so deeply confused and off-track about the basics of this issue, nothing good or helpful will come from government.

I chuckle when I hear about what the supposedly better-than-you liberals from Massachussets are doing…and trying to push onto the rest of us.

I will always remember Massachussets (greater Boston Area) as a place where the phones didn’t work, the water barely worked, and the sewers didn’t exist. Real estate taxes were about 15% of the actual price of the property. Of course any kind of business is the enemy. Civilized?

The mayor is dead wrong on this topic. It is insane to have our hospitals’ urgent care units overrun by people with sniffles, minor cuts/bruises, etc. at exorbitant costs to us all. Some very big name executives have left major enterprises to start/run microclinics of all kinds, in all sorts of places, around the world.

This is a huge wave, it is here, and it is unstoppable – be a part of it, from any which standpoint. It’s a “good thing”, and I’m not Martha Stewart. But I work in hospitals and have researched this topic extensively.

Maybe we need a open thread for all the MA folks here, figure out where what district we could all live in,and then finaly vote in a R St Rep and Senator.

We had a couple of chances with Weld and Romney, but now the MA GOP party is in shambles. I have never seen it so one-sided, I don’t think it has ever been so one-sided. I don’t see a recovery until the Dems completely bankrupt the state. Luckily that hasn’t happened yet, simply because the Governor has done absolutely nothing so far.

The only way I make it through is by making sure I pay as little income tax as possible, buy a lot of goods online or wait until tax-free day, drive my neighbors nuts with Republican yard signs, and raise hell everytime some yahoo wants to override Prop 2 1/2 to fund the beast that is the MA teacher’s union.
