9 p.m. ET on Fox News from Myrtle Beach, SC. The anticipation over Ron Paul’s impending immolation has deflated a bit thanks to his CNN appearance, but only a bit: Kudos to Wolf Blitzer for tossing him softballs so that Wallace can put the screws to him in primetime. Tonight’s the last spin of the wheel for Fred and Romney, needless to say. With McCain and Huck in front of him, Fred’s going RINO-hunting; expect him to hammer the “true conservative” meme to the point of desperation. Mitt’s task is tough given the fact that Michigan is the must-win for him now, not SC. That means less Carolina social-con red meat about values and the war and more Detroit red meat about economic recovery. Something to chew on while you watch — even if one of them dropped out and could somehow cede all his votes to the other, that would still only put the survivor one point ahead of Captain Amnesty. How did we get to this point?
Also needless to say, count on lots of surge anniversary talk from McCain and some “culture of life” red meat from Huck. While you wait, enjoy the latest on Bloomberg’s already insufferable flirtation with his messianic nonpartisan presidential run. He’s Mitt Romney minus the looks, charisma (really), and conservative values, plus a few extra plutocratic billion in the bank. Where do I sign up?
Two videos for you, too. The first is McCain’s primary strategy — from last month. His guys may not have money but they know what they’re doing. The second is … unfortunate.

The sad thing is that immigration enforcement is so horrible in Charlotte that most illegals don’t even try anymore. Sue Myrick tried to fight for more INS here, but keeps getting ignored. I wouldn’t mind so much if we were talking about people that were here to support families and the such, but the illegals in our are are mostly in MS-13 or some other illegal activity. We had a high school student in our area that had been killed on the interstate by a wrong way driver. He had been deported TWICE. Check out this article.
malan89 on January 10, 2008 at 11:18 PM
Just sent $100 Fred’s way… up to $552,669. (I know it’s not a lot, but it’s the most I’ve felt a candidate deserved my money…)

You know you didn’t need to quantify that for me. I think if they’re here illegally, they deserve the scare.

I agree with you 150%, malan89. Almost 90% of our DUIs were illegal criminal aliens. They knew it wouldn’t matter because ICE wouldn’t come pick them up. The only time ICE came was when we had two rival bangers that had both shot & killed rival gang members, and then they were deported. Two months later, both bangers were back wreaking havoc on the city. I’m sick of them all… and sick of anchor babies. That should be outlawed.

Rumour has it he’s Castillian
He’s a reckless buccaneer
I hear he carries several whips
He’s a sultan from Kabul
with women at his fingertips
They say he’s nearly eight feet tall
And yet quite graceful……all in all
I’m told he waddles when he walks
And often twitches when he talks
Is he a dolt? He’s very deep!
Oh, Hotair’s losing sleep!
Who is Allahpundit?
Is he a hero or a monk, a fiddling Nero or a drunk
Who is Allahpundit?
I’m sure he’s flatulent and crass
Here, here, the man’s a horse’s ass
No, no, he’s neighborly and kind
But quite erotically inclined
Whatever guise he may employ,
He’s Hotair’s pride and joy
This plucky nonpareil
This lucky, bloody swell
Who is Allahpundit?

Na…We have had a couple of Paultards here for at least a year, and other than their supporting Ron Paul they have actually been quite well behaved and respectful. If you dont have a score card you probably couldn’t tell them from other commentors here when the topic isn’t Ron Paul.

In Austin if you are conservative you are in the minority. Now, Paulbots are EVERYWHERE here. UBER liberal Austin now has all these conservative constitutionalists living in here that no one ever knew existed before? All these college and UT students are conservative Republicans?
Again, I think they will get Paul to run 3rd, then dump him in the election all the break up the conservative vote. I know a few conservatives who have been suckered into the delusion that Ron Paul is what he says he is and they will be left holding the bag.

HYTEAndy on January 10, 2008 at 11:53 PM
Fred won the debate, but almost exclusively because his scathing attack against Huckabee. THANK GOD someone finally takes the gloves off and exposes Huckabee in a forum like this. So kudos to Fred for going on the offensive.
I also think Mitt (when he got time) was again in a class of his own. His response on Pakistan/foreign policy was brilliant.
And does it even matter how much of a pretender and liberal Huckabee continues to be exposed as? His support isn’t exactly based on substance…
