And this, my friend, is where you’re right off. If I don’t know something point it out. But never assume I’m lying. There’s no point to lie to people on an anonymous site.

I think it is a safe bet, since you are obviously concerned about illegal immigration, that you know what Rudy did, and didn’t do, and that you misrepresented it.

You could have said “He let illegal immigrants send their kids to school, obtain emergency medical care and report crimes without fear of being turned in.” That would have been the truth, and we could have had a sane discussion of whether that policy is a moral one or not. But instead, you misrepresented the truth, and made a sweeping exaggeration to distort the facts and accuse Giuliani of something he didn’t, in fact, do.

A “sanctuary city” is one that forbids police from cooperating with immigration authorities as a blanket policy, including people who arrested for crimes they committed. That is not my definition, it is Tom Tancredo’s:

Cities across the land, because of local pressure, because of a variety of reasons, have passed laws, statutes, provisions that restrict their own employees specifically and often the police departments from sharing information with the INS.
