Video: Rocky wins!
posted at 2:55 pm on January 9, 2008 by Bryan
Well, Johnny Mac and Rocky are about the same age.
Yeah, that was unfair of me. Suffice it to say that I’m not buying what McCain is selling other than his stalwart support for the Iraq war. He was right on that but wrong on soooo much else and is spinning fibs about shamnesty now.
Funny thing though, Rocky lost the fight that McCain’s ad cites, right? Or are these clips from Rocky II? Help me out here, Rockophiles.
Anyway, to make up for my patent unfairness to the Maverick, here’s his appearance on CBS this morning. I appreciate his chuckle when Harry hits him with being “washed up.” But quoting Chairman Mao, Senator? What’s next, sidling up to Ted Kennedy? Again?

Nice article on McCain: Too Tough to Die
I talked to my son in Iraq today via IM (great technology we have now). He is a McCain supporter. He hadn’t heard the news and it made his day.
Here’s a plug for McCain’s website:

How many times has he sided with Teddy?
On immigration? Yep.
On education? Yep.
On the War? Yep.

I was going to say let’s hope this is Rocky II

Here’s hoping your son is staying safe and sane over there, and comes home soon.
Thanks for all the links you’ve provided during the campaign.

Of course John McCain is a Maoist. Don’t you know he’s the Manchurian Candidate?
/sarcasm off

That cracked me up.
McCain has respect for Kerry. Stay away.
P.S.
I second that.

Clips are from Rocky. He lost. Then his hair grew out and he won in Rocky II after training for what seemed like a fraction of the time.
…it was the hair, man. The hair. And the Camaro.

Didn’t he win Old Hampshire about 8 years ago? He truly is a re-run. Dull entertainment, at best. He’ll go away soon. He did return, as bad pennies do, tho.

Interesting stats here on the NH race as far as McCain is concerned:
McCain won the 18-24 year old vote with 27%
McCain won the college graduate vote with 31%
McCain won the worried about economy vote
But not the very worried about the possibility of another major terrorist attack in the U.S. (Romney won that)

McCain’s been in bed with Teddy so many times that the Massachusetts Brothel Association had to lodge a formal compliant that Johnny failed to pay membership dues.

My issues are:
1. Ending the criminal alien invasion
2. Heightening border security
3. Flat tax
4. Conservative Supreme Court Nominations
5. Abolishing government sanctioned racism (affirmative action)
Unfortunately, unless Pat Buchanan runs I have no candidate even close to my wish list. I respect John for his service, but he is onlu a hair better than the socialist candidates the Donks have put up.

McCain is wrong on everything but Iraq. He co-sponsored bills with Obama on Global Warming and Amnesty. How can one good things redeem all his negatives? I just don’t understand how any Conservatives can support him. Are people so simple that they can’t focus on more than one issue at a time? Restore hope for America, vote against the shameful Amnesty proponent McCain!
Igor R. on January 9, 2008 at 4:49 PM
McCain is “spinning fibs about shamnesty”? More like lying through his old-man teeth about it. McCain has repeatedly denied that he supported amnesty — even though there are numerous objective sources quoting his statements of support for it, on numerous occasions. Not only did he advocate for that horrendous amnesty plan he co-sponsored with Ted Kennedy, he ridiculed and disparaged all voters (including his own Arizona constituents) who opposed it. McCain says he “gets it” now. He does not. He pays lip service to the idea of border security, but still supports a “path to citizenship” (code for amnesty) for illegal aliens. Anybody who votes for this guy might as well start learning Spanish now, because we’ll all be speaking it soon if Juan McCain is elected president.

I don’t know about all of you, but I find McCain’s opinion on what constitutes torture disturbing. I’m sorry, but I don’t give a crap about a poor widdle terrorist being waterboarded. Initially, I gave McCain the benefit of the doubt because of his experiences being a POW, but now I think the POTUS should be able to be tough on the terrorists without worrying about what the Europeons think. McCain talks a good talk, but I just don’t think he has the spine to get the job done IMO.
drflykilla on January 9, 2008 at 6:36 PM
Why should ANY conservative vote for McCain?
Igor R. on January 9, 2008 at 6:43 PM
McCain is an extreme liberal on EVERYTHING other than immediate withdrawal from Iraq. Yet he is trying to portray this one position into a sufficient reason to vote for him. Just like the Dems he can’t win if he honestly describes his positions. Straight talk express? How about the house of lies! “It’s not Amnesty because I say so and Lieberman says so, and yeah, the fine, the fine, so there!”
Igor R. on January 9, 2008 at 6:54 PM
I’m sick of all this pandering “great people of [state]” stuff.

I think it would have been more entertaining to re-edit so it looks like Mac is getting yelled at by Burgess Marideth.
PolitiNOOB on January 9, 2008 at 8:09 PM
Why would McCain even joke quote the Chairman?!? 50 million Chinese went to early graves due to him and his policies. It’s like saying, “well, like Stalin used to say…” Leave Mao in the dustbin of history, Senator. That was weird.
p40tiger on January 9, 2008 at 8:09 PM
Not with that new law that just got passed. I guess since the ‘clunker’ bill or whatever it was never made it through that they spun this ‘fuel economy’ one instead.
Have to save some cash to go and grab every decent car over there before congress kills them off. Again.
