Video: Mary Katharine Ham explains blogging to O’Reilly

posted at 9:50 pm on January 9, 2008 by Allahpundit

I think they were just short on content this week and O’R decided to do MK a solid by letting her pimp Townhall. But I’m not sure. Is it plausible that Bill wouldn’t have any idea what his own correspondent does in her day job? Um … yep. Totally. Remember, we’re talking here about a man who once interviewed Alf.

I think the multitude of Ron Paul sites proved it first…

Also tonight: Do clips of MKat prove that the Internet is essentially awesome? (Answer: yes.)

I like MKat on Red Eye.

CABE on January 9, 2008 at 9:57 PM

Parents? Buehler? Anybody? Parents? Buehler?

AUINSC on January 9, 2008 at 9:57 PM

I was waiting for him to ask how much the World Trade Center game cost. Well done Hammer! Sorry your Bulldawgs didn’t get the championship this year, I think they should have.

ThackerAgency on January 9, 2008 at 9:59 PM

MKat in green…

ahhhhhhhh

I think she has single-handedly gotten me out of my NH Primary-induced funk.

MKH is a national treasure. A pity she has to put up with the caveman every week.

Always Right on January 9, 2008 at 9:59 PM

Heh. I love the MKH eye roll.
Can we start getting Red Eye clips again?

joewm315 on January 9, 2008 at 10:02 PM

Who here doesn’t heart MKH?

That was a rhetorical question. If you raised your hand, prepare to be mocked mercilessly. I’ll lead the pack, no joke.

AUINSC on January 9, 2008 at 10:03 PM

I love MK, but it has taken some time to get over the GA thing. Terrible rival, but I have grown to accept her. She was also the first commenter on my “blog.” That helped.

Ahhhhh, I should really update that thing.

Isn’t O’Reilly dead yet? Before the primaries started Fox News was like watching tabloid TV. They really need some competition in the presumptuous we report you decide market.

blankminde on January 9, 2008 at 10:07 PM

How can Bill O’Reilly hold himself out to be the pillar of truth and be the one that’s looking out for you, if he’s that totally clueless?

TheSitRep on January 9, 2008 at 10:08 PM

Another good report from MKH,the woman on the internet is sick, she needs to be prosecuted,as far as the idiot French,
we in Canada have learned, thee best thing is to ignore them!

canopfor on January 9, 2008 at 10:09 PM

New York Defender looks like Missile Command repackaged.

And yes, I know this comment shows my age.

Bigfoot on January 9, 2008 at 10:13 PM

Hmm, some of the people here have been annoying me

Tzetzes on January 9, 2008 at 10:16 PM

O’Reilly is a populist goof.
MKH is a fine lady. Not as hot as my girl, but still pretty darn fine.

Tzetzes on January 9, 2008 at 10:16 PM

O’Reilly needs a couple new researchers.

He was totally clueless when describing the Republican candidates last night saying something to the effect of; ‘well Huckabee and Romney are conservatives’.

Clueless indeed.

It’s been a while since the “Comment of the Day” has been awarded. Heck, that might stand up as “Comment of the Year”.

steveegg on January 9, 2008 at 10:26 PM

Does AP have a “thing” for MKH? He does like featuring her comments. I guess having gone so long without an Iphone he had to get interested in something.
I must admit she is better to look at than AP! Will this flush out the one who cannot be shown?

wepeople on January 9, 2008 at 10:32 PM

BOR is rapidly becoming a BORE.

And his shabby treatment of the Swift Boat guys, Neal Boortz, and bloggers in general is proof positive that he is about a clueless as it gets.

Bet he still has an IBM Selectric somewhere in his office.

Or worse, a ROYAL. Lol.

So yesteryear! MKH used to be an on air HotAir babe when they used to regularly produce videos. Bring back the videos! ( . . . reminiscing the RealVerse babe . . .)

You see, AP has a deeply-recessed desire to change the world :-)

Still, we need a HamNation with AP in it.

steveegg on January 9, 2008 at 10:47 PM

Ha. No, I reserve the puppy-dog eyes for KP.

Once you seal that deal ask KP to hook me up with Ms. Hoover’s digits! :)

Spirit of 1776 on January 9, 2008 at 10:50 PM

Wow… Miss Ham is stunning regardless of her atire, but she’s especially radiant in emerald! Does Mary Katharine Ham prove that conservative women are just far more beautiful than any liberal female (Kirsten Powers aside)? Indubitably.

Jockolantern on January 9, 2008 at 10:53 PM

O’Reilly is a huge dope.

Ortzinator on January 9, 2008 at 10:55 PM

Love the MKH!

Smart, gorgeous, Conservative…yeah, I’ll say it – girl-crush worthy!

flyawaybird on January 9, 2008 at 10:56 PM

DON’T BLOCK THE SHOT!!

Can that replace “Don’t taze me, bro”?

SnarkVader on January 9, 2008 at 10:56 PM

A videogame exploiting 9/11

Grand Hijacking Aero: Giuliani ? :-)

And yikes… Bil sure does hate freedom of speech. “No one can do anything about it.” Yeah Bill, that’s the point. That’s the beauty of it.

We both know she was referring to me!

infidel on January 9, 2008 at 11:58 PM

Love me them MKH rosy cheeks. But I don’t know how she puts up with Bill’s internet ignorance week after week.

infidel4life on January 10, 2008 at 12:03 AM

Bill has introduced Mary Katharine as an Editor at Townhall, long before the “internet cop” thing. He knows what she does.

infidel on January 10, 2008 at 12:10 AM

Internet is essentially evil?

Nahhhh…. We’reevil people just more tech-savvy.

I guess Bill hasn’t played DEFCON yet….

liquidflorian on January 10, 2008 at 12:34 AM

I don’t get why this is a segment on the show.

Then again, I can’t/don’t watch TV anymore.

tangent alert: Did I happen to mention that commercials are even dumber when muted?

Weebork on January 10, 2008 at 1:26 AM

It’s on because the web plays an increasingly important role in peoples lives… but really who cares, it’s an excuse to see M-Kat every week.

keithrconrad on January 10, 2008 at 7:25 AM

MKH is in Boston? I’m right on the beach. Plenty of room. Why pay for a hotel?

Yes I have a feeling O’Reilly is that clueless about the net. He should start with his own site and go from there.

PowWow on January 10, 2008 at 7:45 AM

MKH way to go. Anyone that can educate the BOR is truly capable of leading the ‘X’ and ‘Y’ gen to the truth.

Keep up the great work and keep asking those tough questions in the way only you can do-with serious humor.

MSGTAS on January 10, 2008 at 8:15 AM

Where do we sign up to get our wee political blogs pimped on Mr. O’s show? Or townhall.com for that matter…

Still, MKH is great and always classes up the Factor when she’s on.

NeoconNews.com on January 10, 2008 at 8:20 AM

MKH is great an a great addition to the factor. But no one can make up for the lose of MM, O’Reilly needs to make nice with MM.

Wade on January 10, 2008 at 8:31 AM

MKH, a class act and a great definition of bloggers.
WE are the defenders of right…

right2bright on January 10, 2008 at 8:35 AM

I love Bill but he really does not understand things like the internet, youtube, blogging, etc. I love how he talks about his teaching experience in 1973 for one year. Teaching in 2008 is different from 1998 let alone 1973. Love the Factor but Bill needs to learn the new technology.

The “HAMMER” Even hotter in ’08!

That was an excellent interview, Allah. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

She has the face of a horse and the intellect of a sloth. Is is any wonder she shares space at TownHall with Harriet Meiers-supporting Hugh Hewitt?

I don’t know, man.

I think objectively she’s uber hawt and anyone who disagrees cannot be trusted as a commenter. ;)

PolitiNOOB on January 10, 2008 at 12:26 PM

At least O’Reilly finally got someone to regularly explain the internet to him. for years he would say how he didnt know anything about it when these issues would come up

Actually, O’Reilly needs to get out of the way and turn The Factor over to MM.

steveegg on January 10, 2008 at 2:22 PM

keithrconrad on January 10, 2008 at 7:25 AM

So, how’s Atlanta treating you? More-importantly, have you booked MKH for the morning show yet?

steveegg on January 10, 2008 at 2:23 PM

Actually, O’Reilly needs to get out of the way and turn The Factor over to MM.

Sorry, but Michelle is too much of an activist for the Factor. She comes across as being more interested in advancing a conservative viewpoint than in showing both sides of an issue. And while Bill is notorious for a short temper, he at least has a charming side to him. That doesn’t really come through with Michelle. To prove my point, my “moderate” brother likes O’Reilly a LOT more than MM.

I know nobody is going to like hearing that, but I like to think that part of conservative philosophy is the ability to recognize the truth even if it displeases you.

…but back to the main issue, honestly, Allahpundit, I don’t see what you’re getting at here. O’Reilly asked her what her role is in the election coverage and she answered. Why freak out over that?

R. Waher on January 10, 2008 at 3:30 PM

She’s purtty!!!

HotAirExpert on January 10, 2008 at 5:46 PM

Does AP have a “thing” for MKH?

If he does then we have at least one thing in common….

I’d like to see a 10 minute vid clip each week that features MM and MKH together discussing what’s important…or what they had for lunch, who cares, as long as they do it together ! ! !
