Video: Shameless liar caught in especially shameless lie

Nothing unusual about this, really. Just consider it a case study in how he operates: Any lie he thinks he can get away with, however easily debunkable it might potentially be, is fair game.

And yes, at the risk of being pedantic, the lesson to take away is that if he’s willing to put one over about something this trivial, he’s willing to do it in more serious contexts. Unless, of course, he’s caught out and publicly humiliated into apologizing. Click the image to watch.

He not JUST the Worst Person In The World:

He’s The Worst Person ALIVE!!!

Odormann is a disgrace.

I no-longer watch Sunday Night Football because this treasonous jerk has popped up there one time too many for me.

Dave R. on January 9, 2008 at 10:56 PM

He will soon receive the 2007 Robert Fisk Idiotarian of the Year Award. Awarded by the Lizardoid Army.

I’d say go back to sportscasting, but he’s bad at that, too.

What a pathetic Democrat hack.

Dave R. on January 9, 2008 at 10:58 PM

I would. It’d be a good excuse to piss on him.

Why is Ann Coulter demonized and at the same time this schmuck considered the second coming of Ed Murrow?

WasatchMan on January 9, 2008 at 11:01 PM

Sorry AP. . .I can’t bring myself to view that slimeball
even if he is caught lying. I’ll take your word for it.
He’s not worthy of even a click of this mouse.

Texyank on January 9, 2008 at 11:02 PM

Everything about that man disgusts me. He’s an utter disgrace to anyone who has ever been merciful enough to love him.

Waterboarded? You are too kind.

I think the idiot b*st*rd should be frog-marched, naked and at gun-point, to the nearest airport and put on the next flight to North Korea.

Dave R. on January 9, 2008 at 11:03 PM

What a tool. Not even a good tool, like a wrench or hammer, you know, useful like. He’s maybe a ball-joint splitter; one of those things you might, maybe, possibly will use once in your life but only after deciding that the alternative of having someone else do the dirty work is less palatable than doing it yourself. The kind you buy because no one else has it, then it gets thrown in the bottom drawer of the toolbox.

What a tool.

Everytime a bell rings an angel gets its wings.

Everytime olbermann lies Rosie adds an milimeter to her thighs.

William Amos on January 9, 2008 at 11:15 PM

Yes, he was lying, no doubt about it. But the way Fox news has been slanting to the left lately I’m having a hard time getting worked up over the prospect of defending them.

P. James Moriarty on January 9, 2008 at 11:16 PM

That was great.
I know everyone makes mistakes, and certainly if someone were recording and analyzing every statement that I made during the course of a day, I would be caught saying something stupid or incorrect.
However, it is hard to feel sympathy for a guy who wants to stab his chief ratings rival, and derides the ethnicity of a certain female blogger’s maiden name with vicious glee. Chicken and waffles, Keith.

joewm315 on January 9, 2008 at 11:17 PM

Geez, I saw that video and had a horrible premonition that he would jump into the Democratic primary next week. He just fits. President Olby…looks like I picked the wrong year to quit drinking.

AUINSC on January 9, 2008 at 11:22 PM

Why is this perpetual liar still on tv? What does it say about the network that keeps him on? NBS/MSNBC….I guess I just answered my own questions.

NBC/MSNBC is flat out joke. Their ratings prove it, but mostly because Olbermann is a professional liar and they keep him on the air.

WasatchMan on January 9, 2008 at 11:01 PM

Consider the sources of such claims. Always consider the source…

eanax on January 10, 2008 at 12:13 AM

Actually Allah, I think you are giving Olby too much credit. To tell a lie means first he has to know and understand the truth. From that point he has to craft the lie and work on selling it as the truth. It sounded like Olby’s overwhelming obsession with all things Fox News made him run with the story he was told without checking to see if it was accurate.

In this case, a lie? no. Olby being incredibly stupid and sloppy? yes. He should have a segment called “The Worst Reporter In The World.” He could give himself an award every night.

Mallard T. Drake on January 10, 2008 at 12:15 AM

The truth will come out on this guy and he will not be able to handle it. It seems to come to all these people who make thier name by bringing down others.

NickJ on January 10, 2008 at 12:52 AM

The guy has an audience of 50,000 or so nuts, and he knows they are gullible and willing to lap up anything he says. Especially if it fits their crazy FOX conspiracies or BDS, etc. So he just lies knowing that he usually won’t even pop on to the radar of the rest of humanity.

And yeah, every time I happen to see the beginning of an NFL broadcast with him and Costas, I immediately turn off the TV. I know there won’t be a salient point made about football, so I don’t bother.

He’s a joke. And he knows it.

Exit Question: If Dolberman lies through his teeth on MSNBC, does anybody hear him?

SuperCool on January 10, 2008 at 2:12 AM

Olberman all of NBC News would be just as accurate if they used The Onion as their on air news copy at this point.

He claimed that “Fox never even reported” Paul Begala denying recent reports about becoming involved in the Hillary! campaign, but, as was demonstrated in the video, Fox very clearly did report the denial, more than once.

capitalist piglet on January 10, 2008 at 3:58 AM

I rarely watch Olby’s show. When I do check it out to see if his hate filled hour has changed, the same garbage appears. I usually make my decisions concerning these kind of shows based on watching them over a period of time. In this case it only takes a minute or two for his hate to register.

Thinking back to what NBC was, it’s hard to believe they have have turned into a network of disease.

tazmebro on January 10, 2008 at 5:30 AM

Good to see Herr Olberdouche is ringing in the new year just like the old year.

Now with even more mouth spittle!

UncleOlaf on January 10, 2008 at 6:44 AM

Exit question: What’s Olbermann going to do when a Democrat wins the White House, and all is right with the world with flowers, rainbows and cuddly puppies and he no longer has anything to spew about?

flipflop on January 10, 2008 at 7:10 AM

News readers are learning the painful lesson congress did last year. Everything they do is scrutinized by heh heh, us. So this piece of drek will end up in the Dan Rather can eventually.

Why the devil is he on the football programs? None of the announcers working with him are any good either, but he really sucks.

dogsoldier on January 10, 2008 at 7:10 AM

Somewhere out there in the shadows has to be somebody (anybody!) with a videotape of Olby doing something truly heinous. Maybe he’s a sexual masochist or a animal abuser or a drug user. In my opinion, there HAS to be a dark and sick side to this man. Can’t SOMEbody, ANYbody, find that tape and drop it anonymously on YouTube so the rest of us can have a good laugh as this man finally creeps away in shame. If Hillary is the anti-christ, then Olby has got to be one of her top generals.

‘I wouldn’t piss on him if he were on fire’ is an established colloquialism. ‘I would spit on Michelle Malkin’ is not, and is therefore construed as an actual statement of intent by Geraldo. Disdain vs. threat…they aren’t the same bar to be raised or lowered.

Torch on January 10, 2008 at 9:48 AM

Olby is really good at spouting the usual tired worn out liberal rant-a-rama gobbledegook. His problem is finding an audience that gives about maybe 1/3 of a damn of what he has to say. It’s getting to the point that I honestly have to wonder why anyone even bothers covering what is going on at (P)MSNBC anymore these days. That station is now officially beyond irrelevant.

pilamaye on January 10, 2008 at 9:50 AM

I want to kick him in the shins.

Geronimo on January 10, 2008 at 9:51 AM

Luckily, I’m patient. Olbermann is an old face in a youth medium. ‘CBS 60 Minutes’ is the only senior home on TV. And he’s not qualified, even for that show. Old sportscasters never die-they just smell as if they had.

Doug on January 10, 2008 at 10:00 AM

O’Reilly should loop that video for the entire hour of his show tonight.

Then, in the final minute, give Olby’s sign off that he’s stolen from Murrow.

Quite a line-up of back-to-back-to-back hateful liars MSNBC has feeding at their trough on weeknights. Matthews, Olbermann and Abrams …. three hours of continuous venomous attacks always followed by childish giggles, or goose honks in Matthews case
