Secondly, NH is the FL of the Primaries. Unlike Iowa, NH count pieces of paper submitted by people (sometimes several times and for different people-they believe in changing their minds often) who may not have a TSA background check.

In Iowa you only count when you show up in person and your identity is verified. Therefore, the real people of Iowa showed us the line-up and the Demoncrates helped push Huckabee because he’s a Clinton patsy.

Obama is a liberal but as history repeats itself, (45-50 years represent a generational shift) so he represents the JFK of this Millennium.

I actually think Hillary would be the stronger candidate.

Obama is much more liberal. Has no foreign policy experience. We don’t even know if he has any leadership skills. He sure can talk pretty though.

Why don’t you go ahead and elaborate on that?

In the early contests, I don’t think he was rejected by the voters, but the IA and NH races were 2- and 3-man contests, so people would tend orient their vote toward one of the people who had camped out in the state and were among the front-runners talked about every day in media horse-race stories.

Contrary to Malkin (who as usual shows herself all too willing to stretch the truth when necessary to back up her prejudices), I think Giuliani did fine in the debates. However IA and NH were not “make or break” for him, so he didn’t feature in the post-debate drama manufactured by the media.

His strategy is a risky one, no doubt, and I would never claim he is a shoo-in, especially in season which has so far been very unpredictable.

But as Huckabee, Romney and McCain continue to tear each other down, he is making good proposals, saying sensible things about the issues and running on his record instead of running away from it, and being presidential.

He also has a good, well-funded nationwide organization. The biggest factor working against him is media hype, or lack thereof, but he will be a much bigger part of The Narrative once we get to the states where he’s making his big effort.

If he falls short I’ll be sorry to see it, but that’s politics.

You could be right, I don’t know. I didn’t really pay attention to his strategy in the early parts of the campaign. I started paying attention to him when he came out with his 12 commitments and he’s been impressing me more and more since in small steps.

I think it is too early yet to determine what will happen in FL. And I think the South will rally around any strong national defense candidate like normal.

Here’s the problem Spirit, ruDy has failed miserably in contests pitting each of the candidates against each other. So what if it is in one state or the other. If he is a good candidate, his message should resonate anyway (meaning he shouldn’t finish behind Ron Paul in ANY state).

ruDy was leading in both Iowa and NH. When he started to tank in the polls was when his strategy ‘morphed’. Remember when he suddenly became a ‘Red Sox fan’? Then suddenly he’s not really campaigning in NH (excuse for losing).

The only reason that he is viable is because he postponed expectations. He’ll finish 4th or 5th in Fl and he’ll still say, yeah but we’ve worked hard in all the Feb 5 states. Then he’ll win NY, probably NJ, maybe CT and that’ll be it. And he’ll say oops oh well, the people of America were wrong because they could have had me.

ruDy is not a good candidate. He won’t win any of the South if he wins the R nom.

I understand your point, and I agree that Obama is the “flavor of the month” among many on the left, but I think he came in second today because people began questioning his electability.

I think he is rather vulnerable and many areas, particularly his voting record.

Besides, the Clintonistas will take him out when the time comes, they will just have to be very careful how they go about it.

But then again, I could be wrong.

Odinga is problematic as he’s signed (reported by AP and BBC also) a Memorandum of Understanding with the head of the Muslim League. In return for electoral support he promises to change the Kenyan Constitution to make Islam the sole religion and institute Sharia.

“Senator Obama — do you support your cousin’s attempt to make Islam the sole religion in Kenya, and institute Sharia, and will you do the same here in this country if elected as your cousin promises in Kenya?”

The radio attack ad writes itself. Hillary is a stronger candidate.

The MSM have already chosen him as their next great hope. He sucks up independents in a way which Hillary could never do – as we’ve seen in both Iowa and NH.

What’s worse, underneath the facade of ‘hope’ and ‘change’, he’s even more liberal than Clinton.

Hillary is divisive with historically high negatives. The Right and many independents will unite to defeat her at almost all cost when push comes to shove. That won’t happen to the same degree with Obama.

Don’t kid yourself. AP is right. Obama is good looking. He’s a great speaker and he has no record to highlight. He’s an empty vessel who’ll keep a positive message of hope and prosperity that people will pour all their hopes and dreams into. It worked to perfection here in MA with Deval Patrick. Patrick is advising Obama and Obama is running the same exact campaign right down to the “yes we can” rhetoric. They look alike and they sound alike and if elected, Deval will be the AG.
