I saw most of McCain’s speech and parts didn’t ring true for as a Conservative. He hasn’t listened to what we want; rather, he’s done what he wants and what the Mexican government, frankly, wants. I won’t vote for him. Yes, he deserves respect for serving our country and honor for his years as a POW, but, as my Grandfather likes to say, what has he done for me today? Nothing Conservative, that’s for sure. I want a CONSERVATIVE. I don’t want a “Maverick” aka “Liberal Republican.”

Acceptance of what? Iowa and New Hampshire together aren’t equivalent to one decent size city. When a candidate gets 50,000 votes, it’s hardly worthy of an acceptance speech. Are we going to have to endure this 50 times? Also, the Liberal capital of America is hardly going to affect the election of the conservative candidate. Let’s see where they stand after New York, California, Florida, Philidelphia, Ohio and Texas. Then, maybe someone can give an acceptance speech.

Conservatism. Sincerity. Level-headedness. Anger management. Concern for the needs of constituents.

McCain is not an American hero in ANY way. His service means nothing after what he has done to help destroy our country (I’m also a veteran btw). You can be the toughest man in the world on fighting terrorism, but if you also fight to help illegal immigrants take over America your defense creds are nonexistent. I’d vote for Larry Craig before I’d ever consider voting for McCain.

I would have no problem voting for McCain if he were the nominee,and I don’t even like him. Any of the major Repubs are just so head and shoulders preferable to Hillary or Barry….even Huck (ugh!).

As for McCain…I don’t know. I still don’t feel right about him. Something is just…off. I don’t know if I’d vote for him yet. Something is still missing in the equation. Maybe if he had Fred as his Veep…(which from this Fred-Head, would be the best I think Fred can do at this point.)

Well, I’ll most assuredly vote for him before I’ll vote for the Huckster, and if he gets the nomination, I won’t hesitate to vote for him before any of the Dembots.

Am I the only Firefox user seeing nothing but a black bar where the menu bar used to be below the Hot Air title at the top of the page? The black bar still has the links, but I can’t see them.

I’m using Camino for Mac (1.5.2) and I’m seeing the same thing, so it’s not a FireFox issue.

I think complete7 is on to something. The independents again broke for McCain, which suggests they aren’t reacting to the immigration debacle the way Republicans are. McCain started rising again once it was clear the surge was producing results. Something to consider for the general.

If independents really respect McCain enough with his pro war stance and his insistence on winning in Iraq. That would be an epic change, I would definitely vote for him if he can unite the country around victory in Iraq and the broader war on terror.
