Video: Hillary proposes a “government blogging team”

Openness in government is a good thing, granted, but putting all of the budgets of all government agencies online and then hiring a bunch of people to blog about that? It’s hard to see that electrifying anyone enough to drop out of the Year of Barack and switch to Hillary.

There’s also the possible downside of putting, for instance, Homeland Security and DoD information online that seems innocent enough but gives our enemies that one piece of info they needed. Extreme Mortman fears the spam that such a government blog will attract.

Exit question: From what pool of current bloggers would a Hillary administration hire its “government blogging team?”

Update: The HillGovBloggers probably won’t come from this crowd.

the Year of Barack

I propose a new standard of time: “BB” or “Before Barack” and “AB” or “After Barack”.

Guess.

amerpundit on January 8, 2008 at 11:44 AM

Shrillary, the QUEEN of I DONT ANSWER PRESS REPORTERS’ QUESTIONS, EVAH now wants to openly blog the budget on the internet.

I smell a nefarious plot. Sniff, sniff….

Always Right on January 8, 2008 at 11:46 AM

Yeah. I’m sure they’ll tell us the truth.
She’s runnin out of straws.

ambuldog on January 8, 2008 at 11:46 AM

This sounds like another Democrat attempt to silence conservatives on the net.

Kos, DU, Olberdouche…….

Hey, can we make that government blogging team retroactive? I (and many Americans) would like to know what exactly was going on between Jan. 1993 and Jan. 2001. Any takers?

Dr.Cwac.Cwac on January 8, 2008 at 11:49 AM

She’s just looking for a way to “get” people who post on a blog. (You know the e-mail tracking?)

Never trust a Clinton…never!

libhater on January 8, 2008 at 11:50 AM

How many pages of docements does she still have squirreled away and she wants to talk openness?

Yes, Hi, Dr.Cwac.Cwa? My name is Amerpundit and I’m from President Hillary’s Blogging Team. Unfortunately, those blog archives will be sealed off until 2020 when you no longer care…er…I mean…

amerpundit on January 8, 2008 at 11:51 AM

Two Words: Wally George.

freakagriep on January 8, 2008 at 11:52 AM

It is hard to find words for this. Where to start?

nottakingsides on January 8, 2008 at 11:53 AM

It’s a trap!

ReubenJCogburn on January 8, 2008 at 11:53 AM

Why pay for the blog when you can get the milk for free?

LOL!

Actually, I’ll probably be dead from a hospital-acquired infection from HillaryCare by then…..so it guess it won’t matter.

Did you get the feeling by looking at BillyJeff, he was thinking “WTF is she saying?!”

Dr.Cwac.Cwac on January 8, 2008 at 11:54 AM

Desperation and panic will cause havoc as the downward spiral continues. This could get pretty nasty as Hillary implodes.

Wow. A Democrat touts another way to expand the ever-growing government payroll. I’m shocked, shocked, I tell you!

crazy_legs on January 8, 2008 at 11:55 AM

Just a pitch to get the KosKo on her side.

Amanda Marcotte for Health and Human Services. “We’re now approving a bill that allows free access to containers for your sticky white goo, much to the displeasure of Godidiots and Christofascists everywhere. F*^% Bushco!”

Markos Moulitsas for DHS. “No longer will racist xenophobes from the Reich-wing Republicans spit on undocumented Americans, who will no longer work for vicious mercenaries (Screw them!) in the big farming.”

BKennedy on January 8, 2008 at 12:02 PM

Oh great a government blogging team.

Now I’ll just wait for a government dog sled team led by Michael Vick.

Amanda Marcotte

It will interesting to see where liberal bloggers there hate turns to when Bush leaves and they have a Democratic Congress and president.

terryannonline on January 8, 2008 at 12:07 PM

Dude…

Anyone take a good look at the looks on both Billy’s and Chelsea’s faces in that screencap for this post?

DUDE…

I’m afraid to ask…who is that?

MadisonConservative on January 8, 2008 at 12:09 PM

Fox News just reported a major change isi n the making for Hillary’s campaign. As early as this evening her campaign will announce long time mud-slingers Paul Begala and James Carville will be reuniting with the Clintonistas.

Prepare for the bloodbath folks.

Ready for Change? Vote for Hillary … and Begala …. and Carville.

Change? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Marcotte will simply focus more of her bile and hatred on Christians, Catholics, and anyone else who doesn’t believe rending a child from a woman’s womb and permanently damaging her psychological well-being is a constitutional right never to be fiddled with, and that all problems can be solved by rubbers, pills, and “education.”

Blogger at fired0glake. She and some other intellectual light were hired by John Edwards to offend anyone with any sense of decorum.

Spirit of 1776 on January 8, 2008 at 12:11 PM

The New Republic attacks: Ron Paul: “MLK is a Gay Pedophile”

http://redstate.com/blogs/rudy08/2008/jan/08/ron_paul_has_called_mlk_a_gay_paedophile

interesting timing, Paul is still in it and has the Republican brand attached to him. While Obama(black obviously) rises on the Dem side. Now doubt an attempt to brand all Republicans and small govt. idealist as racist.

thekingtut on January 8, 2008 at 12:16 PM

Who’s the woman on the left? Is that Chelsea?? Phoo boy, maybe that “lips” close-up on Drudge the other day wasn’t Hillary after all. She’s not even running for prexy and she’s falling apart…

MadisonConservative on January 8, 2008 at 12:09 PM

She’s the blogger at pandagon and was on John Edward’s blogging staff for a short time, before he figured out she’s a completelty insane nut.

Ace has an old roundup of her whining after being canned.

Michelle talked about her on the factor, again over her firing as Edwards’ blogger.

And of course, Michelle’s biting Vent satire on one of her posts. (There’s two links, one for each part.)

Yes, I am proud that Amanda Marcotte is the living embodiment of everything I hate about “modern” feminism.

BKennedy on January 8, 2008 at 12:18 PM

Helen Thomas is liable to stroke out when she hears about this….

We wouldn’t need to worry about the enemy knowing about our defense budget if we actually fought them to win, instead of this endless, covert-ops PC bullshit.

“A million good ideas” all starting with the word “Government…”

29Victor on January 8, 2008 at 12:28 PM

Apparently there isn’t a single problem or issue that more Government is not the answer for.

I demand an Congressional Investigation into why Happy Meals are only mildly uplifting.

Captain America on January 8, 2008 at 1:21 PM

Will somebody in the MSM ask her or BillyJeff if this means they’ll now put the Clinton White House papers on the internet? I mean, she’s all for openness in government, right?

PatMac on January 8, 2008 at 1:21 PM

Let’s see how this would actually play out.

First there would have to be security standards and we would need to know who would have access to the site – so let’s register all internet users.

Secondly, we would need to make sure that none of the registered users accessing the government blog had any ties to extremist, fundamentalist, VRWC, or anti-Hillary groups – so we would need to monitor all internet activities.

Third, since we are monitoring internet activities anyway, we might as well have the ability to prosecute people for hate-speech, anti-government statements or even religious zealotry – so let’s create an internet police force.

Fourth, since we have to pay for all of these wonderful government programs, let’s institute a usage-tax on the internet.

Chill is right – we cannot afford her ideas!

I can hear the jack boots coming . . . . . .

IrishPundit on January 8, 2008 at 1:34 PM

Quintessential democrat patronage. Offer to put bloggers on the government payroll at government pay scales.

It’s the democrat ideal reason for government; they use the power of government to reward themselves, their families, their friends and cronies while punishing their enemies.

rockhauler on January 8, 2008 at 1:34 PM

Well, I’m pretty sure Bill has a Myspace page, so that’s a start…

Dork B. on January 8, 2008 at 1:35 PM

What makes you think the National Blogging Agency would be providing more information about the government? It takes a village to raze a child, and that means they need information about you, not them.

pedestrian on January 8, 2008 at 1:55 PM

John Edwards is good at finding bloggers. Maybe he could recruit them.

bigstrings on January 8, 2008 at 2:20 PM

All government records available on the internet? Who’d believe that, they won’t even release the records from when Bill was in office….Get real Hil….

girliecue on January 8, 2008 at 3:06 PM

Actually, there is a Pentagon blogging team in the works. I think their aim is much different than the Clintons, though.

Amy Proctor on January 8, 2008 at 3:08 PM

Hmmm. I know I’d be fascinated to pore through the budget records of the Department of Agriculture and check on activities of county agents in Montana. Who wouldn’t want to do that?

Maybe Hillary can lead by example, showing the government how to be completely transparent, by talking Bill into posting all his documents, hidden under lock and key in his library, on to the Internet for all to see.

I chuckle at the Clintons immunity to irony, always demanding things from others that they themselves would never do. In this case, a couple dedicated to opaqueness about their own activities demand transparency.

Tantor on January 8, 2008 at 3:19 PM

Remember that hermaphrodite on YouTube blubbering about B. Spears (”Just leave her alone!!!”)? S/he needs to get back in front of the camera now and do the same for Pantsoot. Man, wouldn’t that shame all the Republicans and 2/3 of the Democrats who are in schadenfreude mode?

Repent!!!
