Video: Guardian reporter examines the “paranoia” inside the Obama campaign
posted at 5:45 pm on January 8, 2008 by Bryan

The paranoid part starts about 4 minutes in, when the Obama minions keep trying to stop the Guardian’s reporter from talking to people at the event. One Obama staffer tries to pass it off on the Secret Service, but that seems bogus on its face since everyone is already in the building and therefore inside whatever security screens the Secret Service had set up. The last attempt to remove the reporter seems easier to justify since she might be distracting Obama staffers from doing their work. Prior to the paranoid parts we meet various people who have come to the conclusion that a charismatic first-term senator is the best choice for president.
The whole piece is very interesting as a glimpse inside the hollowness that is the Obama campaign. It sells “Hope. Action. Change.” Which means…what, exactly? Whatever it means, it attracts Oprah devotees, real Republicans and people who just want to be a part of a “moment.”

For now, I’m happy that Obama changed the “inevitable” status that Hillary had. Are we allowed to hope that he beats her?

Good observation, Bryan. Obama’s an empty suit with an an uneducated mind — about military/foreign policy matters anyway — who is nonetheless likely to be the next President.
God help you/us.
Christoph on January 8, 2008 at 5:49 PM
In all fairness, if you were competing with the Clintons in politics, wouldn’t you double up on security?
MadisonConservative on January 8, 2008 at 5:51 PM
Obama is a media creation; just like Cindy Sheehan.

The biggest mistake we will make as conservatives is to take Obama lightly. This is the same thing that happened with democrats and Bush. They kept insisting he was dumb, yet he kept whipping them at elections.
Obama is an extremely smart guy. The guys took a message —Hope, which on its face is useless, and made it into a movement, and don’t get me wrong, it is now a movement. He is a very smart guy. I listened to his speech after Iowa, and he moved me. If i wasn’t a staunch conservative, i would have fallen. The guy MOVED me.
We should not take him lightly, or else he will whop us so bad, we will start falling into the trap of believing that he stole the elections. This guy is a tidal wave, and he is extremely smart, and is definitely not an ‘empty suit’.
Chudi on January 8, 2008 at 5:53 PM
Hmmm, the next 4-8 years just may indeed be a continuation of the Bush legacy after all.
greggish on January 8, 2008 at 5:55 PM
Oh, you haven’t heard or got the word? Obama is new savior for the Democratic Party and, of course, the United States and–ultimately–the World!

“part of momentous change!”
Uh yeah, we might just have the first president that signs every bill ‘Present’.

But where Hillary’s concerned, are they paranoid enough?
Sometimes, they really are out to get you…
Frozen Tex on January 8, 2008 at 5:56 PM
Yes.
I love how people think Obama’s the second coming. For Republicans, he might be – he’s smashing Hilary’s fingers and I’m loving every second of it. Obama is the essence of liberalism – irrational emotion! That is why Oprah’s support is so telling – he is the manifestation of every weepy woman in the country going into politics. There is no plan, there is no reason; there is emotion.
If they lose, Democrat ‘12: Dr. Phil! They won’t even have to change the slogans.

Its the same reason Huck and Ron Paul does well. He creates a false aura of a movement that people want to be a part of.
Its not about Hope as much as “clich: that people want to be in

My question is … wth is hillary doing? Is it not a liability that Obama’s “sounding board” says (and does) crap like this:

I think we should help stop Barack Hussein Obama from winning the dem nomination and expose him now. Too much is at stake and the Hildebeast would be easier to beat. Who agrees?

My wife just asked if that reporter would have been treated differently if she was a hot blonde (like a lot of the women on Fox I presume). What say you?

Wow, whenever I look at the Barak Obama campaign I start to feel like I am watching American Idol. Unfortuantly American Idol voters are probably better informed about what they are voting on and who the options are.
Barak is the candidate of say nothing, but say it loudly, say it well, and put on a show so that you will attract the most people and generate the most energy. Most candidates can beat him if they can shift the dynamic so that substance matters, however none of them are going to beat him as long as it is the show that counts.

If I were Obama, I would check with Ron Brown about airplane safety and the Clintons. Just sayin.

How long before we learn if he is the Anti-Christ.
After all he is the Anti-Clinton.

I am not aware of journalists going into boiler-rooms before. That was a bit odd I thought.

One would think that if he’s the Anti-Clinton, he’d be the anti-anti-Christ.

What I want to know:
HOPE – for what? Hope for more mediocre governing through high taxation?
ACTION – doing what? Suppressing dissent and freedom of speech?
CHANGE – changing what? The constitution into a manifesto; capitalism into communism (sorry folks, it ain’t ’socialism – it’s C-O-M-M-U-N-I-S-M); Christianity into Islam?
HAC on this, Obama lovers.

What are the chances that independents are breaking to vote for Obama to KEEP HILLARY OFF THE TICKET?
If these voters are as impassioned about one speech in 2004 imagine what will happen to them when the RNC turns the message on Obama.
gabriel sutherland on January 8, 2008 at 7:55 PM
Right now Obama is getting a pass. If he gets the nomination, let’s see how he does. I do think Hillary is much easier to beat than Obama. Can’t we count on the Clinton war room to start letting the dirt out on this guy? I am sure they have a file 6 inches thick. Remember, they have investigated him back to kindergarten.

Barack Hussein Obama is a seriously dangerous individual. As a dedicated community organizer (meaning someone who believed that petitions for redress of wrongs from the government are the right way to solve individual problems) working in highly impoverished neighborhoods and a civil rights lawyer representing other community organizers he has demonstrated his belief system that is based on the government dedicated to helping the poorest citizens as the first priority.
He has spoken out about the need to wage only wars that will “earn the respect of the world”. As a persistent critic of the Iraq war fundamentally denying anything positive about it and a sponsor of various bills requiring the most aggressive time-tables from withdrawal he has demonstrated his contempt for the concept of the struggle with world-wide Islamic extremism. As a co-sponsor with McCain of the Amnesty bill as well as the “climate change” bill he has shown himself to be a radical leftist.
The church to which he belongs shows the following description on the home page of its website:
“We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian… Our roots in the Black religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an African people, and remain “true to our native land,” the mother continent, the cradle of civilization. God has superintended our pilgrimage through the days of slavery, the days of segregation, and the long night of racism. It is God who gives us the strength and courage to continuously address injustice as a people, and as a congregation. We constantly affirm our trust in God through cultural expression of a Black worship service and ministries which address the Black Community.”
Anybody belonging to a church with this credo cannot possibly be interested in protecting all Americans equally.
Barack Obama’s recent statements on his perception of reality in Iraq only go further to demonstrate how radical this man is.
George Soros and his family gave Obama $60,000, or the maximum of $12,000 per person allowable under the “running against a millionaire exception” rule of the campaign reform legislation in his Senatorial Campaign. George Soros’s politics are well known to all serious students of radicalism and attempts at control of governments. Someone who was groomed this way by Soros and who rose to the national stage after only two years in the Senate has to seem dangerous to all who love freedom.
May we all survive the affliction personified by Barack Hussein Obama whose goal can only be to destroy the United States as we know it.

It’s a leftist’s campaign for president, just like the clintons. Loose lips sink ships, what does this woman expect? They are afraid someone will start talking about what they really expect from obama, a socialist paradise, and then he’ll have to respond. He may even have to respond with specifics and so far every time he has tried to be specific about a topic he has stuck his foot in his mouth. They can not speak openly and candidly about what they believe because they would never get close to the White House.
The guy is a rich kid, leftist social worker who grew up in Hawaii and has not really accomplished or produced anything of merit in his entire life. Except, apparently, attracting a bunch of potential brown shirts.

I remember watching a few Oprah segments when she had Gary Zukav on (about the same time Dr. Phil started on her show). Zukav would talk and the camera would pan the audience. Every woman’s expression was the same. It was this weird, vacuous smile – very creepy. I read up a little on Zukav and discovered he was a master of mass hynosis. These women were completely clueless about what was being done to them just so he could sell his books and charge thousands of dollars for his retreats.

Intentional hollowness
what a great piece of reporting she did
It is obvious they are trying to Jimmy Carter him into office
Obama has an absolutely unpleasant background in terms of radical afro-absolutist (i.e. anti-white) church affiliation, leftist leanings, mysteriously unpublicized voting record (yea on 2611 – Immigration Reform)
So he is simply ‘for change’. If ‘change’ is good for Oprah, it is good for the USA. The details come after the election.
This is the strategy. For Obama, there are no details
The Devil is in the Details
entagor on January 8, 2008 at 11:15 PM
I agree with you.
B. Hussein in office anywhere terrifies me, but as our president? Deep fear sets in. He has agendas we will never hear about.
.
Everyone needs to look at his extremely racist church and it’s extreme web site.
.
Trinity United Church of Christ
10-point Vision:
1. A congregation committed to ADORATION.
2. A congregation preaching SALVATION.
3. A congregation actively seeking RECONCILIATION.
4. A congregation with a non-negotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA.
5. A congregation committed to BIBLICAL EDUCATION.
6. A congregation committed to CULTURAL EDUCATION.
7. A congregation committed to the HISTORICAL EDUCATION OF AFRICAN PEOPLE IN DIASPORA.
8. A congregation committed to LIBERATION.
9. A congregation committed to RESTORATION.
10. A congregation working towards ECONOMIC PARITY.
.
the Black Value System.
included in their black value system;
#2 Commitment to the Black Community. The highest level of achievement for any Black person must be a contribution of strength and continuity of the Black Community.
#8 Disavowal of the Pursuit of “Middleclassness.” Classic methodology on control of captives teaches that captors must be able to identify the “talented tenth” of those subjugated, especially those who show promise of providing the kind of leadership that might threaten the captor’s control.
.
This is B. Hussein Obama’s CHURCH!

As for the video, it’s needless to say the secrecy, paranoia etc. from Obama’s people show they do have a lot to hide.
At least Obama does, and his ‘people’ have stern instructions on what’s not allowed.
It’s bothering me more than I thought.
.
Cant wait til the real one-on-one’s start. -unless the MSM covers everything up, again…..like they did for clinton’s 1 & 2.

This video shows that there is basically nothing to the Obama campaign. He truly is an empty suit with plenty of rhetoric about change. Change for change’s sake to me is a flimsy platform upon which to base a run for the presidency. I believe most of those who vote for him do so only so they can feel better about themselves.
Nipsey on January 9, 2008 at 6:57 AM
It’s good to know they put the action before the change. You wouldn’t ever want to act on your changes, would you?
James on January 9, 2008 at 7:25 AM
Their goofy racist beliefs are good for shock value among sensible people, but there’s no sense in arguing with them about their novel creed because they have answers to every question about it. They think about this abstruse crap all the time. What they don’t know anything about is actual Christian theology. It would be really interesting to ask some questions that might appear on a conservative seminary’s midterm.
The next time someone interviews BO’s pastor, I wish he would ask him some real theological questions, such as, what is your understanding of the union of Christ’s divine and human natures? Or maybe just something simple, like, What’s the 9th Commandment? and watch him stammer and blink.
Akzed on January 9, 2008 at 9:10 AM
The Race Card,
are you out there today? I thought I would throw out some supporting documentation to my seemingly nutty suggestion that Obama is a racist.
For the record, I restate my position that I don’t like racists – white, black, yellow, or red. I don’t get all weepy about it, but I think it should be confronted and not ignored just because it comes in a form that our society has declared politically acceptable.
Jaibones on January 9, 2008 at 10:10 AM
I have been through several campaigns as a journalist. I was in NH in ‘88 and ‘92. It is not unusual to be let in boiler rooms to talk to volunteers and shoot some footage. This paranoia reminds me of traveling with Bill Clinton in ‘92 and dealing with the young nazis at nearly every stop. Like no other candidate did his people try to strong arm every little move from the press. Since he won maybe it doesn’t matter. I thought the women from the guardian could not have handled it better. She handled it much better than me.
