I’m also going on local news reports that investigated the operation. Chris Hanson was somewhat willing to talk to them, but Perverted Justice got real hostile, real quick when asked about their methods. There’s plenty on YouTube.

Is it because the guy is initiated the conversation?

True to an extent, but watch another episode. You’ll see a guy who logs off, and they go after him later, initiating conversation themselves. I totally agree that if the guy is stupid enough to go to the house, he gets what he deserves. However, these Perv-Justice people should be just as guilty for enthusiastically pushing the event to happen, all for the sake of television exposure.

I watched the first one in it’s entirety, as it was a big deal at the time. I get the complaints that the process is a little shady, but that’s like me complaining about AP banning me for something I say in response to something you say. I logged on here, I read what you said, I responded. The onus is on me.

How does Dateline still catch people like this? Are there really that many of these guys out there? Freaky.

Why these activities haven’t been decried as entrapment has continued to baffle me, though I know a bunch of cases were dropped when it was found that police protocol was completely discarded for the cameras. The suicide of one of their subjects didn’t help either.
