Video: Ron Paul mob greets Hannity with something less than EVOL

Creepy yet amusing, as all Paulnut endeavors are. Question: Why is H&C, or any Fox show, broadcasting from New Hampshire? Hannity can and does regularly command remote interviews with the major candidates and he’s got Carl Cameron et al. on the scene to waylay people on the street or campaign staffers for reaction. Is it just to show that FNC is willing to go the extra mile by, um, building an on-location studio they don’t really need? Click the image to watch.

Are Ron Paul supporters old enough to vote?
right2bright on January 7, 2008 at 9:26 AM
Physically, or emotionally?
Spanglemaker on January 7, 2008 at 9:28 AM
Hannity doesn’t care about anyone but Ron Paul. He injects himself in the race for the explicit purpose of helping Rudy. His bias makes him unwatchable. He’s more for Rudy than KP is for Hillary.

The end is funny, he goes into the hotel then they turn around and their like “Now, what do we do? Let’s go smoke some pot.” Ron Paul supporters once again staying classy as always.

Jesus H. Christ, Ron Paul supporters behave just like unhinged Democrats!

……and after the exuberance of yelling “you suck” wore thin, the brown shirts all retired to the local hofbrau for some zinging, spongecake und schnapps.

I think you are definitely correct. I hope Ron Paul splinters off and starts a third party run. It could only help the Republican ticket.
TheSitRep on January 7, 2008 at 9:39 AM
Pretty much sums up Ron Paul’s supporters.
thejackal on January 7, 2008 at 9:39 AM
Everybody comes to NH during primary time. Everybody. Even O’Reilly (as I’m sure you well know). It’s a pretty big deal here. We almost named the local baseball team the “New Hampshire Primaries,” but after a bit of backlash, eventually changed it to the “Fisher Cats.”
Yoosaion on January 7, 2008 at 9:41 AM
Boy, that was a nice display of maturity, wasn’t it? When their precious Ron Paul has to drop out of the race in another week or two, I hope he makes an appeal for calm.
I just had a scary thought. Obama wins the donkey nod for presidency. He “reaches across the aisle,” in this particular instance a mighty short reach, and asks Paul to be his veep. Since Obama’s going to get run through the garbage compactor by Hillary the next couple of weeks, Obama won’t want anything to do with her, and Edwards didn’t work out so well for Kerry. What a revolting development that would be, and it would mean that these 3%-ers would be legitimized. I think it’s quite possible, though.

While I do think it is unnecessary to mob someone in the street I take exception at some of the generalized comments here.
I am a small business owner with a wife and child. I am also very involved in my community in various areas.
I am also a Ron Paul supporter.
I am not a democrat and I do not smoke weed.
I am an individual who is concerned for the future of this country.
Ron Paul has my support for three reasons.
1. He is honest and his record shows clearly that he means and acts in accord to what he says. No other Presidential candidate is consistent in this regard and with all the others it is rhetoric as usual.
2. Ron Paul supports the principle of limited government upon which the U.S. was founded upon. I am a conservative who supports these principles.
3. Ron Paul supports fiscal responsibility. The United States government simply cannot afford to fulfill its policy obligations except by debasement of the currency through increased borrowing in order to cover the increased spending.
No other candidate is addressing these issues.

I’ve openly wondered who these kooks are. Paul is clearly a couple fries short of a happy meal. There’s no way on earth that “Conservatives” or “Republicans” can actually support this wingnut. Sure the flat tax sound good but people on the right have some common sense and logic in their DNA. Ron Paul doesn’t. So the only conclusion I can come to is he is being propped up by the left as internal poison for the Republicans.
libhater on January 7, 2008 at 9:50 AM
Here’s the negative campaign slogan for the rest of the fella’s.. “Ron Paul… Proof that medication doesn’t work for everyone… symtoms may include delusions of grandeur , intellectual impotence , an uncontrollable sense of viability, and a strong resemblence of the Mad Hatter. Magic mushrooms included”
whiskeytango on January 7, 2008 at 9:50 AM
after watching him blame America for everything from Terrorism to jock itch, I wouldn’t be sorry to see him go. He’s the pied piper of the perpetually perplexed. His minions are a mixture of the clueless and quixotic believing that our government is full of evil people who fight wars for profit and kill their own citizens, but if we’re just nice to other governments they’ll be altruistic.

I accidentally registered for a Yahoo! Group called the “Missouri Republican Liberty Caucus” thinking that it was a group of fellow neo-libertarians… Turned out to be a bunch of Ron Paul wierdos. Several of whom had marijuana references in their usernames.
If these are the “mainstream conservatives” that the Republican party is “supposed to be,” God help us all, ‘cuz EVERYBODY is crazy (save me and thee, and I’m not too certain about thee..!)

Yes, you’re right.
He’s conflicted, though not an enigma, an idealist drawn out of the atmosphere. Though his goals may have been, his revolution is unreasonable, the CHANGE that Demo’s crave. If Obama wants votes across the board, one could imagine Obama/Paul. Eerie.

He also supports an archaic foreign policy that would probably either plunge us into WWIII or have us sit by and watch while Israel is wiped out. His logic is fundamentally flawed in dealing with the terrorist threat because he misunderstands their reasoning.
If you want to see how America would be perceived in the world just look at his campaign. If you’re nice to Ron Paul he’ll be nice to you no matter how disgusting of a person you are. That’d essentially be our foreign policy and we’d attract the same despots and bigots that he does.

Would any conservative really chant that?
First, chanting is for liberals.
And second, Fox News is like…THE news, at least so far as TV news goes.

Sir,
While I agree that all the other candidates are uninspiring in the extreme, I respectfully disagree with your assessment of Dr. Paul’s qualifications.
Dr. Paul used to be my Congressman. He is still the Congressman from my Mom’s district. While I agree he is against spending my tax money on frivolous causes, he is also against spending my tax money for the legitimate and constitutional purposes required, especially those activities required for our common defense.
No matter how much he tells me he is for saving my money, it is my money and my obligation to spend it wisely. It is unwise, in the extreme, to withdraw our troops from the world, to allow evil men to gain the upper hand anywhere in the world, and to base the national defense of 300 million souls on appeasement of an ideology that is closer to the Spanish Inquisition and the National Socialist movements of the 1930s than any other example in the history of mankind.
Dr. Paul is an idiot. His previous military service is demeaned every time he blames American foreign policy for the hatred spewed on the American people every day.
When Dr. Paul has an answer to a problem that chants “Death to America” every day of its existence, that resembles something more than the approach Sir Neville Chamberlain took in 1939, (i.e. trading peoples lives in Czechoslovakia (or Iraq and Afghanistan in Dr. Paul’s case) for “Peace in our Time”), then he will deserve consideration as a serious Presidential candidate for 2008.
Otherwise he continues, as he has for the last 10-15 yrs, to resemble the crotchety, curmudgeonly old uncle every family is cursed with at one time or another. And, he is an idiot, to boot.

On Paul’s outer extremes, I understand the arguments and appreciate his candor regarding financing the $ economy, though I can not agree, once in combat, to destabalizing our military, Eisenhower’s warning of the war-machine in mind. As a matter of national security, Paul seems a flippantly shallow liberal masquerading as conservative; either schizophrenic or stubbornly blind on national security. To make his point, he abandons alliance to be “pure”. As a legislator, his extremism balances out the Congressional curve; I hope he will maintain his seat.
Again, VP Paul would at least curb Obama’s “CHANGE” motto with a strong conservative slant. But Dr.No would be a failure as VP, having no sway amongst his peers in Congress. Obama’s personality would be more effective than Paul’s as VP in Congress. Finally, as POTUS, Paul has allianated himself from the general population and has no political alliances outside of his supporters, having burnt each bridge on principle. At least Ron Paul is a vanguard for future idealists learning their lessons through him, as Paul teaches ADAPTIVE evolution. But again, that seems a contradiction to his purism.
maverick muse on January 7, 2008 at 10:18 AM
The combined IQs of Ron Paul’s supporters don’t measure on the normal charts.
Jaibones on January 7, 2008 at 10:18 AM
I actually have some sympathy for his small government stances. My problem is his foriegn policy comes straight from International ANSWER and the Worker’s World Party. He encourages the twoofers who, imho, are no different than holocaust deniers. He blames America for everything. He so completely misunderstands our enemies and their motivation that it’s downright dangerous. I’m not sold on any particular candidate but I find RP absolutely repulsive.

When I go shopping for a guard dog, I don’t come home with a Golden Retreiver (especially not one with brain worm).
thejackal on January 7, 2008 at 10:45 AM

MBFlyerfan on January 7, 2008 at 10:47 AM
Bleh. Sean Hannity isn’t even deserving of hatred. He should just be ignored.
Oh please. Ron Paul won’t pledge his support to any of the other Republican candidates. What makes you think he’d run with a socialist? As much as he’s opposed to frothing-at-the-mouth neocons, he’s even more opposed to socialists.
Yawn. Think you could come up with a new slur based entirely on outside conjecture? This one is getting old. How about “Ron Paul supporters are all Canadians” ? That should seem reasonable plausible to you.
I’ve almost exclusively voted Republican in the past. Of the Ron Paul supporters I know, a handful are libertarians like me, and the vast majority are Conservative Christian two-time “W” voters who were already registered as Republicans before they decided to support Paul. Yeah, some people (though not one that I’ve ever met) are coming over from the Democratic Party because Paul is the only person with who has consistently stood up against our invasion of Iraq, but to suggest that his support primarily comes from the left is pure idiocy. If you can’t fathom why a Conservative would support him, you’re either woefully ignorant of Conservatism, or you’ve just been blinded by your post-9/11 desire for warfare.
Honestly, when you guys float stupid theories like the above, you make the roving Paultards in the video look sane.
F*** altruism. Altriusm is a dangerous ideology. It breeds suicide bombers and socialism. Altruism of other nations isn’t expected. What is expected is that they’ll act in their own rational self interest. If they do, we have no problem. If one goes crazy and tries to attack us, we’re more than capable of defeating them. Preemptive war is a morally reprehensible concept. Seriously, how deranged do you have to be to justify attacking nations based on a hunch that they might have the capability and the will to attack us at some time in the indeterminable future? That’s a paranoid and bloodthirsty world view, and one we can’t afford to maintain.

Hey, I own a golden. But you’re right about him not being a guard dog and it does apply to Paul.
We had eight years of Slick Willy (a total wimp) sucking up to foreign leaders to be liked and it put this country in great danger. Slowly but surely standing up to the Islamic savages is taking hold and might finally stop the spread. France woke up and that’s a big help. The last thing this country and the world needs is an appeaser who bends over and allows the UN, the Euroweinies, and Iran bleed this country dry figuratively and literally.
The sooner this idiot is out and gone the better.
libhater on January 7, 2008 at 11:09 AM
the foundation of Paul’s Foreign Policy is NOT that of the Founding Fathers also. The nation has always excerted as much power in the international arena as they could. With the great comparison to modern day with the Barbary Wars. Jefferson lobbied for War on the basis they could not be appeased for 15 years, then took us to war as President sending in the Army and Navy to kick butt. The USS Constitution used in this war, is on display in Boston. After 9/11 it was on lockdown for awhile because it was beleived it was a target by the Jihadist for symbolic reasons.
the Paul/Rockwell types try to spin history on Foreign Policy because they are paranoid of govt. and don’t ‘get it’ in regards to the state of the world. They base their Isolationism on Thomas Pains Common Sense. What they don’t realize is Common Sense was revolutionary propaganda with one goal of convincing colonist who didn’t like idea of detaching from the British Empire. The Founders actually in charge of Foreign Policy in that day never followed that type of Foreign policy(Jay, Washington, Madison, Hamilton, etc).
the very first Foreign Policy decision under the Contiental Congress was to form an alliance with France.
while some americans think we were some isolationist utopia, its a myth. The rest of the world viewed america as “dangerous”

srhoades on January 7, 2008 at 11:18 AM
What you fail to understand is that it is in the self interest of Dictators to focus the discontent of the populace outside their own borders. They use state run media to fuel antiamericanism to keep the public from blaming the dictator. Sometimes this just results in flag burning “death to America” rallies, sometimes it’s rhetorical, financial or even material support to jihadi terrorists.
Would the world be better off with Saddam in power, staring down 50 years of seive-like “containment” and when Uday or Qusay take over the family business? Should we simply have let Saddam out of his box? He wouldn’t cause any trouble would he?

What makes the world better is irrelevant. We’re not in charge of the world. What matters is that America would have been better off had we not invaded Iraq. The WMD threat didn’t exist and Saddam wasn’t giving material support to al Qaeda. We didn’t eliminate a substantial or iminent threat to our security by any measure. So what have we gained? Iraq is now a breeding ground and gathering place for al Qaeda, ~4,000 of our bravest have died, and oil prices are higher than ever. 2007 was the deadliest year yet, for our troops. If this is an improvement, you’re a more optimistic person than I.
