Oh boss, you’re so cynical.

The fact is, she has a lot to cry about.

OMIGOSH, it was Michelle who made Hillary cry! Did you set it up with Karl Rove? Enquiring minds want to know!

BAWWWWWWWWW i’m hillary clinton and my rightful throne isn’t guaranteed me! BAWWWWWWWWWW

Dem bad boys been beetin’ up on dat girl.

Griz on January 7, 2008 at 6:19 PM

It reminds me of Bill’s transformation of laughing to crying once he saw the cameras for some reason.

paultevis on January 7, 2008 at 6:19 PM

They’re crocodile tears, there’s no question.
On a different note, Michelle looks hot in this clip. Of course, she usually does, but there’s something different here. Her eyes look darker and it gives her a more mysterious look. Yeah, it’s a winner.
What was this clip about again?

The vast right wing conspiracy is out to make me cry !/Hillary

The Clintons have a spontaneous bone in their collective body

Well, Bill has at least one.

darii on January 7, 2008 at 6:22 PM

Man, someone could do a great parody of Sonny Burgess’s “Tears in the Eyes of Texas” with this latest Hillary nonsense.

I wish Michelle would put her hair up. I think women look so much hotter with upswept hair!

SouthernGent on January 7, 2008 at 6:23 PM

I think we are seeing the fall of the Clinton machine amoung the Dems. I’m not one to think it will happen quickly or she will go away quietly into the night I do however believe that the things happening on the left are a signal that “Bubba” and company have lost the grip.

If B. Hussein Obama wants to be the agent of change, he’s gotta take on the Clinton machine…AKA “The Empire” (Que the Star Wars empire music here).

My take on it is the Glacier is melting. The pressure, the set-backs, the polls, the dwindling crowds, she sees it all fading away. And this was nearly an Ed Muskey moment.

laelaps on January 7, 2008 at 6:24 PM

She could have at least cried in her natural southern accent.

Wade on January 7, 2008 at 6:24 PM

This Hillary moment is exactly the same as when Bill Clinton was attending some solemn gathering in rememberance (D-Day anniversary?). He was walking along with someone and laughing in conversation until he noticed the cameras on him and started tearing up. Today’s emotion by Hillary was obviously manufactured to take the headlines away from Barack Obama on the day before the New Hampshire primary.

olympian2008 on January 7, 2008 at 6:25 PM

I actually think Hillary’s tears are genuine. I think she’s overwhelmed that the stupid unwashed masses won’t let her save them. In Hillary’s world the government is there to solve the people’s problems, but “why, oh why, won’t these people let me help them?” She can’t fathom that we don’t want her help.

trubble on January 7, 2008 at 6:25 PM

That Katie Couric video with “I will be the next president” will become a real valuable item. It’s inevitable.

Entelechy on January 7, 2008 at 6:25 PM

These tears are going to come back to bite Hillary. If the stress of the campaign brings her close to tears, what will the stress of being President do?

Bill, Bill, Iran sent up a nuke…sniff, sniff…this isn’t easy. It’s stressfull. sniff, sniff.

Yeah, I can see it all now. I’d feel so safe with her running the country.

I would love to see a woman in the White House, but in the Margaret Thatcher mold and I sure don’t see one anywhere in either party.

katieanne on January 7, 2008 at 6:26 PM

Your Jewish Mistress just reminded me that Hillary wasn’t going to “Stay home bakin cookies” either!!

Your Jewish Master on January 7, 2008 at 6:26 PM

The only thing we right wingers are conspiring to do is sit back and watch the Dems, especially the Clintons, self-destruct. I personally, will be sitting back with a large mug of MtDew and a bucket of popcorn for said event.

My first thought on hearing this was it’s interesting that she’d cry pubicly over this, but not her husband’s shameful public philandering. About that she gets angry at everyone but HIM.

Didnt a few leftie women offer to take care of bill as long as he kept social programs going ?

William Amos on January 7, 2008 at 6:29 PM

Sadly, Obama is even worse than her – but the country/world is in love because it’s PC. We’ll wake up and go “what’s this plastic I’m all of a sudden wearing?”. And the alternative is Huckabee? Wake up conservatives/independents, or deserve it!

Her husband, the former president, pointed out the obvious Sunday night in remarks before a college audience. “We can’t be a new story,” he said, speaking in something of a jocular tone. “I can’t make her younger, taller, male.”

Still, Sen. Clinton’s aides have urged her to show more passion and emotion — including laughter — to give voters a sense of her warmer side.

Now if there’s a smile on my face,
it’s only there tryin’ to fool the public,
but when it comes down to foolin’ you;
Now honey, that’s quite a different subject.
But don’t let my glad expression
give you the wrong impression.
Really I’m sad.
I’m sadder than sad.
You’re gone and I’m hurtin’ so bad.
Like a clown I pretend to be glad.
Now there’s some sad things known to man,
but ain’t too much sadder than
the tears of a clown
when there’s no one around.
Now if I appear to be carefree,
it’s only to camouflage my sadness.
In order to keep my pride I try
to cover the hurt with a show of gladness.
But don’t let my show convince you
that I’ve been happy since you
decided to go.
Oh, I need you so.
I’m hurt and I want you to know.
(chorus)
Just like Pagliacci did,
I try to keep my sadness hid.
(aaargh! I can’t remember! It’ll come to me and I’ll send it along.)
But in my lonely room I cry
the tears of a clown
when there’s no one around.

William Amos on January 7, 2008 at 6:38 PM

Just for the record: What was the question the drove Hillary! over the edge?

“As a woman I know it’s hard to get out of the house and get ready,” asked Marianne Pernold, a local freelance photographer. “Who does your hair?

The “waterworks” started seconds later.

Ready To Lead.

Dorvillian on January 7, 2008 at 6:39 PM

I’m sure its more carefully calculated Clinton emotion schtick, but who isn’t? Follow the link, fast forward to 10:17 for the money. This is the first thing I thought of when I saw her crying. NSFW maybe.

blankminde on January 7, 2008 at 6:42 PM

If she gets elected, just think of the entertainment we’d have. The soap opera dramas. “Waaaah, and the Al Qaida just won’t stop bombing us ::sniffiles::, maybe they hate me. I tried to be nice to them. ::sniffiles::”

Good call Michelle. Hillary is not a genuine person. Not one tiny bit….and she didn’t even fake the tears very well! Phony!

Zorro on January 7, 2008 at 6:45 PM

My main problem with Hillary Clinton is that she is artificial to the point of being a fictional character. I don’t think the country is ready for a virtual president.

In either case, it won’t help her.

doubleplusundead on January 7, 2008 at 6:48 PM

Hillary don’t feel no ways trrrd. She’s come to faaaar, from where she started. No one ever told her that the road would be easy.

Hillarity is a socialist tool. The only thing that she is sincere about is getting the power that she needs to pursue her socialist agenda. I hope that she continues to lose big.

Hey, the Clintons can manufacture tears at the drop of a dime…remember Bill leaving Ron Browns funeral…happy, happy, happy ’til he saw a camera and then the look. Instant visage transformation in less than 1 second. Besides this also plays double to the women out there who will think maybe she is not such a cold-hearted &!#CH.

What were her words about “opportunities for this country”? Did she say that SHE had so many opportunities for this country [that she hated to see it slip backward]? Was she saying SHE has so much to offer this country…. and was it that thought that brought on the misty eyes?

Regardless, if ever there was a narcissistic weep, this is it. World class narcissism. Hillary doesn’t cry for her country. Hillary cries for her self.

TimothyJ on January 7, 2008 at 7:09 PM

Hillary’s performance today was as phoney as a nine dollar bill. Only a liberal would be dumb enough to fall for it.
I’ve changed my opinion of the Clintons. I’d always assumed they were consumate political operators, but not anymore. They had one huge slice of luck in 1992 (Ross Perot) and faced a weak GOP candidate in ‘96 (with more help from Perot). Hillary then wins a senate seat in one of the bluest states in the union. Their eight years in the WH were littered with huge blunders and scandals, and the Clinton Machine’s performance since Halloween has been a joke.
The Clintons ain’t all that.

infidel65 on January 7, 2008 at 7:11 PM

I was also reminded of Slick Willies “laugh/cry” video. I believe he was approaching the entrance at Ron Browns funeral and he was yukking it up with his cronies, when he saw a camera rolling, his face did a freefall into a hurtful frown and began to wipe a tear.

I agree, their marriage is such a nightmare, people are turned off by the fact that her husband can’t really stand her. That has got to be off putting for a ton of voters.

The crying did her in, I think she may be toast. Although I never believed she would have made it anyway, too polarizing and not just among Republicans. There are a ton of people in her own party that are not buying her brand of snake oil.

Mike Huckabee says: I don’t want to criticize Hillary’s press conference and her crying. However, if I was going to criticize it I would say “I thought she was releasing her secret weapon – tears that burn oil executives like acid rain.” But of course my Christian values wouldn’t allow me to say that.

Just got registered today and I have to pass this on – Decima Research just released the results of a poll of Consevative voters in Canada: 49% would vote for the Democratic candidate and only 12% would vote Republican in the November election. I just tossed my Conservative Canadian cookies! Can I get U.S. citizenship?

Positively 4th Street on January 7, 2008 at 7:26 PM

wow, lots of new people here, more comments to read.

MM makes great points. However, I can’t believe that anyone calculated crying as being something that would help her campaign. Crying makes you look weak. Harry and William didn’t even cry at their mother’s funeral. It’s not dignified.

I don’t doubt that she’s sad and the tears were genuine. She’s accepting that she’s going to lose and she has never imagined the possibility. To her it is sad.

There’s no way that someone told her to cry as a political move the day before the most important primary of her life. No way. They are calculating, and I’m certain that she wishes she hadn’t cried.

ThackerAgency on January 7, 2008 at 7:29 PM

She’s accepting that she’s going to lose and she has never imagined the possibility.

I wonder if everyone is writing her off too soon. Two small primaries and it’s over? I think there is a long way to go yet.

katieanne on January 7, 2008 at 7:32 PM

The crying was real. But it was for herself, it’s always been about Hillary. How bout some tears for Juanita Broderick or Vince Foster? She’s a calculating control freak, and she’s starting to lose control. Pitiful.

Positively 4th Street on January 7, 2008 at 7:26 PM

Not really necessary, but if you insist, here’s a nice path.

Fly to Tijuana. Pay to cross into San Diego (stay at the Del Coronado a few days– it’s a nice place to rest up after your drive.)

Then, go to some Dem controlled city where you can vote with your Canadian ID, or none at all. Vote DEM, or McCain. Soon, you’ll be a citizen.

Remember though, if you do this, you will have to pay for health care, payroll and other taxes, higher tuition, and other annoyances, so think carefully. It might just be better to come and skip all the unnecessary formalities.

MM does look different. Awfully beautiful. I think Gibby has a crush

Hil’s probem is for Oprah to make Obama look good, she has to make Hil look bad or at least old. So the great publicity machine is giving Hillary the bad lighting.

I am still a bit surprised the Opra crowd decided to elect a virtual muslim, I mean Christian black nationalist, I mean beige progressive, instead of an illegal Mexican alien from area 52 but in any case they gotta make Hillary look wasted. I think Hillary’s make-up ladies are sabotaging her. She should fire all of them,

Notice how Fox makes MM look gorgeous, but the MSM is making Hil look like an old turkey?

The tears don’t work because they look menopausal and everyone is scared of menopausal women.

Bite my tongue, I almost gave away the trick Hillary would have to do to win the publicity battle. I haven’t figured out yet who is most dangerous, Jimmy Obama-Carter, or Hillary Bill Clinton the 2nd. If I decide we need Hillary as opponent, I will fill in the blank

I hate elections. A bunch of buffoons fightig to dominate me
