SECOND LOOK AT SYMPATHY FOR HILLARY!
…if only she hadn’t turned it into a not-so-oblique attack on Obama. Calculating to the last. Click the image to watch.
Update: “She really loves us and wants us to succeed in the world. I think she’s real now, there’s a person there.”
Update: Awww. “I’ll tell them that. Okay, I love you.”

Im crying too right now but they are tears of laughter and joy….

Things are near perfect now – all the Yankees have gone home, nice weather and little traffic.
OBX Pete on January 7, 2008 at 2:00 PM
I was almost starting to feel sorry for her. But then this. She just comes off as soooo phony. Try as she might she couldn’t squeeze a real tear. When she put her hand on her cheek it was just awkward. It’s too hard to watch this slow mo trainwreck…almost!
ronsfi on January 7, 2008 at 2:00 PM
Maybe Dr. Phil can come to the rescue!

Two words Sarah Bernhardt. Google it!

that was my read too… truly yet another gak-worthy performance by the Shrill One…
probably not pepper spray or cut onions though…i hear Jemken sniffing will tear you up…
max1 on January 7, 2008 at 2:06 PM
I just don’t know what it is about her that turns me off. It’s like she becomes genuine as a last resort. When all of her BSing, old lines, money and political attacks/strategies aren’t working she finally decides, “Okay, they want genuine, I’ll give them genuine.” So while her emotions may be real, it’s a calculated display. It’s always a calculated display for her benefit. She wants that presidency at all costs, and she’s willing to do any little type of show she has to to get where she wants to be. She really is not equipped to be the leader of the United States.
mattyj86 on January 7, 2008 at 2:06 PM
I wasn’t moved by her tears. If I had considered voting for her, which I haven’t, before the tears, I would reconsider after them. Emotional isn’t something I look for in a president.
Sue on January 7, 2008 at 2:06 PM
Sprit of 1776
“A candidate for the presidency must be a “natural-born” citizen of the United States, at least 35 years of age, and a resident of the United States for at least 14 years”
You know what I meant. I said he hasn’t earned the right. Those qualifications you listed weren’t earned.
But of course, you knew what I meant.
infidel65 on January 7, 2008 at 2:08 PM
The Leftinistra re very good at playing the emotional card. They thrive on the emotions of the weak and do not rely on rational thought. This is yet another example of the Leftinistra ploy for the “woe is me” garbage. I ain’t buyin’ into it.
Boo-friggin-hoo.

SECOND LOOK BY THE OPRAH VOTERS!
snickelfritz on January 7, 2008 at 2:10 PM
Oh, I think the tears were real, I think the power she’s wanted for so long is slipping through her fingers, and its gotta be eating her alive.
doubleplusundead on January 7, 2008 at 2:12 PM
.
Yes, he wants to be president but not run to be president just for the sake of being a president. Note the differences, csdeven. He has real concerns about this nation’s security and the U.S. Constitution. His goal is to serve the people, not serve politics like the rest of the candidates.
Nice to twist this context about Fred again and again as seen in CNN.com. He’s running for his people. Real humility there.
Thompson made clear his points on what he believes in and that resonates very well with a lot of people. A no nonsense guy.
Let’s not read too much of Politico.com’s hit pieces, shall we? Hmmmm…?
Kokonut on January 7, 2008 at 2:13 PM
Note that she waited until Santa Claus LEFT town before she started crying…
Spanglemaker on January 7, 2008 at 2:13 PM
Kind of reminds me of the instant tears of Bill Clinton at Ron Brown’s funeral ….. She learned from the master.

Bet she carries left
Wade on January 7, 2008 at 2:14 PM
Hey Hillary, your revolution will not be televised.
To quote a movie line from Don Rickles, “Why don’t you get a horse and go live in the mountains someplace and don’t bother anybody.”
CP on January 7, 2008 at 2:17 PM
This is getting ridiculous. I could see the Messiah would take Iowa before people thought he had a chance. Big fucking deal. If there’s any intelligence left in Left America she’ll walk all over Obama. Then again, considering how close Edwards came, I might be putting too much faith in them.
Darth Executor on January 7, 2008 at 2:21 PM
Yeah, probably:)
Yeah, I know what you meant, I just put that because you said “right”. I’d rather say he doesn’t have the merit or experience to be the best choice. I understood your point though.
Spirit of 1776 on January 7, 2008 at 2:24 PM
Don’t forget Pat Schroeder got all misty-eyed when her presidential aspirations were aborted.
JammieWearingFool on January 7, 2008 at 2:26 PM
Can somebody please point out the supposed ‘tear?’ I don’t see one!
bluestater on January 7, 2008 at 2:26 PM
Tears won’t work in the real world.
jukin on January 7, 2008 at 2:27 PM
She will (nearly) cry, say she’s a bedbug, whatever she, Bill, or her people mastermind.
I call for a Seth Green “LEAVE HILLARY ALONE!” video ASAP.

HEHEHE!

“Billary wept”.
miles on January 7, 2008 at 2:32 PM
Two words: Crocodile Tears. Watch her eyes, closely (if you dare). Not even close to real. Somebody with more vid skills than me (AP?) ought to mash up this Hallmark Channel’s “I’m tired. *sniffle* I am.” with her performance in Selma, where she “don’t feel no ways taaaaar’d”. She come too far from whar she started, you know.
steadyrock on January 7, 2008 at 2:33 PM
What is the big deal about the tears! So she shed a tear, that’s not out the range of possibility as the Cylons look like us now…..
Bubba Redneck on January 7, 2008 at 2:34 PM
Did she cry when Bill was exposed as a lying cheater? No
Did she cry when Bill had his heart attack? No
Did she cry on 9/11? No
and I’m to believe “these” tears are real? Gimme a break.

Is that the first Presidential campain cry?
Crocidile tears more like.
Rode Werk on January 7, 2008 at 2:45 PM
Gee, you think she is finally seeing that the vast majority of America would very much like for her, Bill and Chelsea to just go away, once and for all?
pilamaye on January 7, 2008 at 2:46 PM
You’re missing the point — she cried when she saw her political career was about to end.

Hey, if she is crying in her grits right now because no one loves her like they used to, what the heck is she going to do as President if those Al-Qaeda meanies decide it’s time to nuke one of our cities or something? What’s she going to do then, hire Chris Crocker to get on national TV and scream “ LEAVE AMERICA ALONE!!!!!!” ?

Why doesn’t she just rub a little dirt on it and get back in the game. Where were these tears when she found out about Blewinsky?

diogenes on January 7, 2008 at 3:26 PM
I think she may have shed a few because she’s under a huge amount of stress due to her implosion or because something like a lash got stuck on her inner eye lid, caused her to start tearing, (which was an entirely new experience for her), and she played it for all it was worth or she realizes that no one can stomach her and even Bill belongs in the Cave of the Ancients…
I’d say, all of the above.

petefrt on January 7, 2008 at 3:52 PM
Why is it that all I can think of is “The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist”.
Seriously though, this evil woman is either acting or she’s genuinely cracking as she sees this thing slipping away and realizing her life will have been meaningless because it has ALL been about becoming president.
Again, Obama I would really watch your back (literally). The Clintons are known to not play nice and this is Hillary’s only shot and she will not have it stolen by you.
As for us (the GOP) we need to figure out a way to get Hillary back in this game. I HOPE (thanks for that word Obama, I know you copyrighted it) that the 20 point lead she has nationally will eventually swing things back her way… Remember how unelectable she is? Half the country (give or take) will definitely NEVER vote for her… and then there are plenty of others who probably won’t either. Obama on the other hand is treated as this “get things done”/”reach across the aisle”, kind of guy when in reality he’s just another do nothing far lefty with an attractive personality that the media loves to love and they could easily make him our next president.
Please, someone save the Hillary campaign.
RightWinged on January 7, 2008 at 3:54 PM
There’s a direct link between this and her “That hurts my feelings” moment during the debate (for which the pundits gave her high marks). Appealing for sympathy must be her new strategy. I smell a new campaing slogan coming: “I feel my pain.”
Spolitics on January 7, 2008 at 4:00 PM
Just before the tear She had a Freudian moment. She wanted to say “There are opportunities for the country..” instead she said “There are opportunites from the country (for Her)…”!
BlowHard on January 7, 2008 at 4:01 PM
Crying helps, but won’t stop Obama from taking the nomination.
etan on January 7, 2008 at 4:02 PM
Boo-Hoo! Not even close to a tear! She’s faking. (Why do you think Bill still chases skirt tails?) A couple more states down the tubes and you’ll see the talons come out again!
kcd on January 7, 2008 at 4:08 PM
Calculating to win the hearts of the bleeding hearts or a real sense she is approaching the end of the road…?
She knows that to win the support of a lib she must tug at those emotional strings. However, if this strategy fails, it will indeed be curtain time for the Hildebeast.
CliffHanger on January 7, 2008 at 4:13 PM
I think you will all be surprised to see just how nasty she will get before this is over..
kcd on January 7, 2008 at 4:15 PM
Now that is some funny stuff right there!
SoTX on January 7, 2008 at 4:36 PM
The Glacier cracking? No way. If the roles were reversed she’d be squeezing the pliers she had around your nads right now. NOTHING she does is genuine – it’s all calculated…from the phony tears to the “just so happenstance” call that Bill got on his phone at the very moment he was speaking. She is attempting to “soften” herself and the lapdog media is there to spew it all out.
bamahotair on January 7, 2008 at 4:38 PM
Oh, no we won’t. I don’t think there is anyone here under any illusions as to how low Billy and Hill can go.
I wonder if anyone has done a headcount of the Iowa staffers. ‘Bound to be a couple missing.
BacaDog on January 7, 2008 at 4:38 PM
I don’t look at this so much as a Ed Muskie moment so much as I see it as a Patsy Schroeder moment. I think she’s beginning to realize that she has wasted her life by putting up with Bill all these years because she thought she would someday get to be president.
kozmocostello on January 7, 2008 at 4:38 PM
Hillary has a well documented public life verifying she has pulled this sort of nonsense before on many occasions. Therefore, it makes it extremely difficult to believe that her tears were sincere. Rather, they were cold and calculated and designed to achieve her only goal – glorification of Hillary R. Clinton.
Larry L. Sharp on January 7, 2008 at 4:53 PM
I missed who asked her the question … wonder if the questioner was a ‘plant’? She reminds me so much of Mrs. Iselin from the Manchurian Candidate, that’s all I can think of when I see her, hear her and watch her perform … especially with this ‘impromptu’ emotional display.
Monkeybrains220 on January 7, 2008 at 4:54 PM
That cry was genuine as a forty dollar Rolex!

TheSitRep on January 7, 2008 at 4:55 PM

capitalist piglet on January 7, 2008 at 5:36 PM
I always thought she`d walk right through this process and we`d have to deal with her. But I`ve seen her lashing out in the debates, the Obama kindergarten story, playing the gender-card among other things and have said to myself, “She`s losing it, she`s actualy losing it!” Maybe they are real tears…..Snark?

Kevin Nealon’s old “subliminal speak”
Hill: It’s hard (being behind in the polls). I couldn’t do it if I didn’t really have a passion (for power). *TEARS* It is personal to me (when you idiots say you don’t like me). I see what is happening (Obama is beating me), and we have to reverse it (Obama winning)…..
