SECOND LOOK AT SYMPATHY FOR HILLARY!
…if only she hadn’t turned it into a not-so-oblique attack on Obama. Calculating to the last. Click the image to watch.
Update: “She really loves us and wants us to succeed in the world. I think she’s real now, there’s a person there.”
Update: Awww. “I’ll tell them that. Okay, I love you.”

Crocodile tears.

csdeven on January 7, 2008 at 1:12 PM
Her emotion software must have recently been upgraded or something…its almost convincing now.
SDnocoen on January 7, 2008 at 1:13 PM
As a woman, I think that’s disgusting and an embarrassment.
Afterward, Billy Jeff sez “Honey, you didn’t bite your lip. I TOLD YOU to bite your lip!!”
Brat on January 7, 2008 at 1:13 PM
Simply an emotional blackmail. Hillary has always been the dour, calculating woman behind that curtain. Crocodile tears to get sympathy. Maybe Obama (as a man) can get away with this, too?
Kokonut on January 7, 2008 at 1:14 PM
If those tears are real, and I doubt they are, it is only because the Clinton’s sordid past has finally caught up to the utterly fraudulent & hideous woman.
Hopefully, we are witnessing the beginning of the end for the fraud that has been the Clinton’s since they first popped on the scene.

Frank DiGiorgio on January 7, 2008 at 1:14 PM
I believe her. It really is very personal for her. But she sounds phony when she says it’s about love of country. It’s more about her ego. She’s been after this all her life, and if she fails, her life’s dream is a failure in her mind. That’s what drives her to get up in the morning and continue on the campaign trail. No wonder she’s so emotional about it.
NNtrancer on January 7, 2008 at 1:15 PM
You got the “extremely intelligent” part right. And with that, there is a glimmer of hope for ol’ Joe that the only Democrat with some sanity on foreign policy might last a while longer. Hillary, you magnificent b- uh…. candidate.

That’s going to be the final nail in her campaign coffin. Who are the dolt’s she has running her campaign? They wouldn’t know how to win an election even if the had a Dummy’s Guide.
Tyrs Fury on January 7, 2008 at 1:17 PM
Chillary is just SOOOO sincere in everything she portrays about herself. (NOT.)
Y’know, this woman should be a Hollywood actress, not a DC politician. That’d be a MUCH better career fit for her.
King Dom on January 7, 2008 at 1:18 PM
It’s believable! It’s believable from the standpoint that we all know the Clintons will do anything to get elected, to stay in the media and make everything about them. I’m reminded of Bill Clinton walking with Tony Campolo at Ron Brown’s funeral, and squeezing out a tear when he realized he was on camera.
The only people fooled by this are…well, you know.
AubieJon on January 7, 2008 at 1:18 PM
We know how bad you want this job Mrs. Clinton. And that’s exactly why you can’t have it.

And why I chase after other womenWilliam Amos on January 7, 2008 at 1:19 PM
Let’s see: first Drudge emblazoned “Hillary about to Quit”; then we see “Hillary breaks up in front of audience”. Both designed to strike at the heart of the female voter’s heart. This is political brilliance – Bill must have thought this one (or one/two) up. Wait and see, this will take Obama off the front page for today. Hillary ain’t out yet. c

csdeven on January 7, 2008 at 1:22 PM
Looking for the academy award or the presidency?
Maybe the feedback from the last 16 years that she’s an ice-cold shrill jerk finally made its way through her thick liberal skull…..probably with the aid of her campaign advisors’ constant sledgehammering.

I believe the tears are real. I’m sure she’s exhausted and a bit demoralized.
I don’t think the tears are for our country. I hope they aren’t. I don’t mind a President that cries, but I don’t want a President that cries for our country when 92% of Americans are happy with their own lives.

Les in NC on January 7, 2008 at 1:25 PM
Rush isn’t buying it either. There are no tears that I can see. She is, in effect, using the gender card again. She thinks it’ll work this time because she’s a woman, but it won’t.
I remember years ago when Maggie Thatcher cried in public when her son went missing while competing in the Paris-Dakar rally. The press was merciless; and her tears were genuine.
infidel65 on January 7, 2008 at 1:26 PM
mmmmmm pizza, the food of teh gods!
she seemed to see the reaction she got from the first part (which seemed genuine) and just ran with it.

LEAVE HILLARY ALONE!!!!!!!
csdeven on January 7, 2008 at 1:27 PM
C’mon folks. She’s not trying to fool/convince us. She’s making a phony emotional appeal to people who only want emotional appeals, phony or not. There is no downside, as there is no way this can hurt her with her Democrats.
JiangxiDad on January 7, 2008 at 1:27 PM
“I have so many opportunities for this country. I don’t want to see us fall backwards.”
Hillary…backwards…..there is a joke in there. I’ll leave it alone.
“Opportunities.” Yes. Opportunities that we’ll be paying for. Every time she speaks about change, I reach for my wallet. It’s probably a fear that “change” is all I’ll have left in my pocket with Comrade Clinton at the helm.
Dr.Cwac.Cwac on January 7, 2008 at 1:27 PM
I usually shed a tear or two when someone kicks me in the nuts too.
Torch on January 7, 2008 at 1:28 PM
It’s easy to be emotional when what you want seems to be slipping away. That does not mean emotion reflects any nobility or honesty.
Spirit of 1776 on January 7, 2008 at 1:29 PM
She took a page right out of Fred!’s book, actually borrowing some of his words. For the first minute she sounded the most genuine that I’ve ever seen her, exposing herself as potentially human. But then she inevitably turned to demagoguery.
Indeed a tiny crack in the glacier, however there is no global warming, so the ice has re-frozen.
AlexB on January 7, 2008 at 1:29 PM
This is typical of the controlling, calculating type of “woman” Hillary is. When you back them into a corner, and they can’t get away with tearing you to shreds, they will start squeezing out tears in the hope that you’ll back off lest you end up being regarded as a bully.
CurtZHP on January 7, 2008 at 1:30 PM
OK….the title of the new political TV drama starring Hillary and Fred……
The Pendulum
He doesn’t want to be president so bad he wont do anything. She wants to be president so bad she’ll do anything.

Rick on January 7, 2008 at 1:34 PM
Who didn’t see this coming after her “You hurt my feelings” line the other night. The instant reaction polls went up for her.
I said to myself afterwards…
“Self, the Clinton machine is gonna take this stint and run with it come Monday morning!”
Sure ’nuff. Self was right.
SouthernPride on January 7, 2008 at 1:34 PM
csdeven,
It’s the people who Fred to become president. There is no “I” when it comes to being the president since it is he who serve the people. Hillary is the extreme exception on wanting to be that president at all cost…even riding her husband’s coat-tail, getting elected as senator in a liberal state, NY, and crying and saying she is “passionate” on wanting to do this. Well, she should be since she was willing to overlook Bill’s history of infidelity just to keep his name.
don’t think too hard, csdeven.
Kokonut on January 7, 2008 at 1:35 PM
Yeah, he’ll toss a bookcase behind her head.

It’s her John Kerry “I can’t believe I’m losing to this f***ing idiot” moment. She probably already said that too when she said Obama hasn’t done the spade work to be president.
Brat on January 7, 2008 at 1:42 PM
Do we really want a cry-baby for POTUS?
I realize that Hillary has no soul and is incapable of real human feeling. That this is nothing but emotional blackmail. Those tears were as real as that woman she hired to play her mom in those Iowa ads! ;-0
That being said, there is a reason why we haven’t had a female President and that is because females have been deemed to be the weaker sex. Hillary’s “Muskie Moment” doesn’t do much to convince skeptics that she’s up to the task of being President. She’s managed to undermine the feminist message of the last 30 years. If Hillary weeps on the campaign trail, what is going to happen when Congress overrides her veto or if Venezuela says something mean about her? She can’t declare she is able to run with the big dogs and then bawl when things don’t go her way.

AlexB on January 7, 2008 at 1:44 PM
No. Fred has said on several occasions that he wants to be president to do some things only a president can do. He has gone on to say that he isn’t really interested in it. And he has done nothing to make sure it’s true.

Some are right and some are wrong…you are wrong.
Hillary, all of us feel we want our country to do great, we all have maybe even deeper feelings then yours. Typical liberal, only thinks they are the ones that care.
*
Well Hillary, here is news for you. There are parents with children protecting your right to run, and they have a lot more vested interest in our country then you do. And there are others (Bless them) who have given their lives to allow you to run, and they have a lot more interest and desire for the nation to succeed…how do I know? Because they act, you talk. If you really cared, you would step out of the way and let a real American lead us.

Someone out there got a tissue I can borrow… I’ve run out!
Gartrip on January 7, 2008 at 1:47 PM
Hey Hitlary…it’s scum like you and the rest of the left that is yanking this country backwards. Not the other way around. Save your tears you monster because we know this episode is totally made up for your benefit. There is no soft side to you and people with brains aren’t buying into it.
Then again, realizing her rightful place on the throne is in jeopardy might bring her to tears.
libhater on January 7, 2008 at 1:47 PM
She’s right about Obama. He hasn’t earned the right to run for president (and neither has Silky). He hasn’t even served half a term in the Senate. At least Hillary fulfilled her promise to New Yorkers that she’d serve a full term.
I’ll bet there’s quite a few veteran dems (Kennedy, Kerry, Biden etc.) wondering who this guy thinks he is.
