I remember a month or two ago that Luntz was talking up Fred Thompson, how he won the debate, his focus group participants were loving him, etc., etc. Meanwhile, Fred continues to be exactly where everyone has predicted he’d be in these polls. Did he do great in Iowa? Is he going to do great in NH? I really have to take what Luntz and his group of voters say with a grain of salt. Fascinating? Yes. But I wonder if these are just the visceral reactions, and then the voters think more about it and vote another way. If Luntz is so great, why didn’t he detect the McCain bounce in NH? All I remember is him saying McCain is finished.

It occurs to me that yet another telling moment for Obama tonight was when Hillary played the gender card as the vultures were circling, and he *didn’t* play the race card to trump her. Good for him.

I agree with you LD. Decades of watching Black Dem. politicians do that has become sickening, predictable, and utterly useless. And he certainly didn’t “play it”, by mentioning it, “Race Card.” He, and I’d guess tens of millions of others had the same thought at the same time, that it’s refreshing that Obama’s not playing typical, overt, Democrat identity politics– even if so many of his retarded guilty white liberal supporter are.

I think the point has been made already that her organization is ridiculously strong, so I’m not sure Obama would be harder…

I know he has charisma but boots on the ground still matters a great deal.

Obama, as Barnet writes in Democratic Voters to Nutroots: Take a Long Virtual Walk Off a Short Virtual Pier, may rescue the Democrat party. Call me unrealistic, but for now, I’m giving it hopes.

The Seahawks looked great today, though Hasselbeck was a little off. The 4th quarter was wild with the momentum swings back and forth from one sideline to another. When the Redskins missed the 30 yard field goal, the entire stadium gave a collective sigh of relief. When Trufaunt returned the interception for a TD, the rafters were shaking.

I couldn’t tell you how loud the stadium sounded because the section where I sat was so noisy, I couldn’t hear beyond that. As soon as I get all the hearing back in my right ear, I’ll feel better. Wonder how Mike Sellers’ ears are doing?

On to Green Bay for a playoff rematch from a few years ago. Matt “we want the ball, and we’re going to score” Hasselbeck will have to be sharper if they are going to beak the Packers and head for the NFC championship game. Go Hawks!
