If Hillary Clinton was capable of fluttering her eyelashes, she would have after the local moderator had her react to hearing that voters like Obama better than they like her. As it ends up, Obama steals the moment from her. The boss is transcribing and calls this tonight’s staged boo-freaking-hoo.

That said, Obama’s getting bounced tonight.

Oh. Please. Nice try, Ice Queen. Brrrrrrrr.

Go Hillary! (I’d rather face her in the general than Obama. I think we’ve got a better chance of beating her.)
amerpundit on January 5, 2008 at 10:38 PM
That was hilarious.

Spirit of 1776 on January 5, 2008 at 10:41 PM
Has the whole dem portion been this much of a love fest? “I’m happy to report…” Contain yourself there fella.
Also, I’m calling BS. Hillary doesn’t have feelings.
TexasDan on January 5, 2008 at 10:41 PM
Hurt feewings… but Obama claims she’s “likeable enough.” heh
MsUnderestimated on January 5, 2008 at 10:43 PM
“you’re likable enough” lol
bigbeas on January 5, 2008 at 10:44 PM
You know, after getting cheated on like a diet, I’m surprised Hillary even has any feelings to hurt. The things a woman will do to get in a position to run for president. Sigh.
Seixon on January 5, 2008 at 10:44 PM
That guy should have just said, “Hillary, voters here are concerned that you’re just too big of a bitch and… well, quite frankly Senator Obama just isn’t as much. How do you feel about that, hmm? How do you feel about being a bitch, Hillary? Ohh, what’s the matter? Going to cry? HA HA HA.”
mboprey on January 5, 2008 at 10:45 PM
Wow, maybe it’s the wine, but I thought that was kind of sweet!
Maybe I should lie down.
FloatingRock on January 5, 2008 at 10:46 PM
They say it in the clip. Hillary responds with an appeal to emotion in a way that BO doesn’t. Barack says change, Hillary says the “Bush administration”. If you don’t think those sound different, one positive, one negative to the ear of the average voter, then I don’t know what to tell you.
Spirit of 1776 on January 5, 2008 at 10:49 PM
After watching that, I think I’ll go get a shower….yuck.
d1carter on January 5, 2008 at 10:52 PM
Absolutely. Next to these guys, on foreign policy she sounds like General David frickin’ Petraus. Not only would I rather face her in the general, I would feel much safer losing to her.
joewm315 on January 5, 2008 at 10:55 PM
That actually surprised me.
bnelson44 on January 5, 2008 at 10:56 PM
What do you think he means when he says “change”? He’s whining about Bush too, just in a more abstract way.
Allahpundit on January 5, 2008 at 10:56 PM
I know what he means, you know what he means. That measure of abstraction helps him. It is corny, but it is also true. One is open-ended and thus allows for positive projection, the other is back-ward looking and relies on negative emotion for results. She is going to bleed votes if she doesn’t figure that out really soon.
Spirit of 1776 on January 5, 2008 at 10:59 PM
Obama is leading a charge to change all of Washington, Republican and Democrat alike. At least that is what he tells his followers.

Husbands vs. Hillary? [Kathryn Jean Lopez]
An e-mail:
Did you notice the “look” that HRC was giving to the other candidates when they disagreed with her. It was the “look” every husband has seen a million times – and I am happily married. I showed it to my wife and she agreed. That may not help her with votes from men.
bnelson44 on January 5, 2008 at 11:05 PM
I’m working on a clip that shows exactly what you’re talking about.
Bryan on January 5, 2008 at 11:06 PM
Was Bill Clinton in the audience or was he not there at all?
bnelson44 on January 5, 2008 at 11:11 PM
Didn’t mean for that to sound critical, btw.
Spirit of 1776 on January 5, 2008 at 11:12 PM
And as she answers I can hear the grateing of the iceberg
along the cold steel hull of Clinton’s Titanic.OUCH!
canopfor on January 5, 2008 at 11:15 PM
Despite being a neo-communist on mostly every issue, it’s really tough to hate Obama. Hillary is in deep trouble.
Its Tommy on January 5, 2008 at 11:23 PM
David Garrad for president!!!
krabbas on January 5, 2008 at 11:28 PM
Did Luntz do a Republican focus group? I’m sure he did, but I don’t see it at J$. Anyone know where I can find it?
aero on January 5, 2008 at 11:36 PM
Wow, the dems are swinging big time. This is wild, and a little bit scary!
conservnut on January 5, 2008 at 11:39 PM
Pay-off your house and put everything you’ve got left into gold and let Obama win. There’ll never be another Democrat president after his one term and the Democrat party will be wiped from the American political scene forever.
Griz on January 5, 2008 at 11:40 PM
This entire election is turning into a big personality cult, populist driven load of crap, don’t count on Obama’s being that bad, there’s always the off chance that enough idiots will be worshipping him. Didn’t we already have a headline that was, in effect, explaining that Obama basically had God say “this is the chosen one” in a speech?
You know, a lot of scary leaders were scary particularly because they had cult followings.
John_Locke on January 5, 2008 at 11:46 PM
big personality cult, populist driven load of crap, big, personality cult, populist driven, load of crap
I’m terrible with grammar.
John_Locke on January 5, 2008 at 11:48 PM
You know, I don’t like Hillary Clinton at all. However, that question was pure bulls**t. Honestly. You don’t ask someone why they should “like” you after basically saying lots of people hate you. I’m sure she’s aware of that, and well deserved, but that was pretty humiliating. Some will disagree, but I don’t like seeing those questions put forth to candidates on either side. No double standards.
And another smooth line for Obama. Nothing like slick socialism on its way.
MadisonConservative on January 6, 2008 at 12:02 AM
Nobody here likes her, that’s for sure, but I’m with you, “no one likes you, how does that make you feel?” is a pretty crap question that will only help her with the “media bias” routine.
John_Locke on January 6, 2008 at 12:05 AM
Actually, she does, but they’re only on display during Pon farr.
Captain Scarlet on January 6, 2008 at 12:10 AM
Here’s a question the moderator should have asked her ….
Hillary, Bill has been a royal thorn in your side this week. Isn’t it time for a mateover?
fogw on January 6, 2008 at 12:11 AM
Yeah, and that’s been a real winner for her so far…

I heard on the ‘news’ today that Hil wants to become more likable, so she’s wandering the NH countryside asking the folks, “What is it you people want to know about me?”
Answer: What will it take for you to disappear?
petefrt on January 6, 2008 at 12:21 AM
Question in response: Do machines eat?
John_Locke on January 6, 2008 at 12:23 AM
If you watched the football game, you would have seen an advertisement, better word for it, a propaganda piece with some Kennedy (another socialist), Joe Kennedy I believe. There are several showing poor families, what they have to do to get fuel, even attacking our government offhandedly. One shows a poor family, that has to carry their fuel in gas cans. The Kennedy says paraphrasing , “Fuel bought to these people by the Venezuelan People”. Goes into how Citgo is helping hte poor and our Government isn’t.
Of cause we know who the “Venezuelan People” are, Chavez and his Buddy Castro. This is another socialist / Democratic Party piece, but indirectly related to them so doesn’t fall under election laws. Says nothing about who the government that owns Citgo is.
I felt like shooting my tv set. Almost gone postal looking at several versions of this during the game on NBC the Green Network, that has Keith Obermann.
StuLongIsland on January 6, 2008 at 12:30 AM
Go Hillary! (I’d rather face her in the general than Obama. I think we’ve got a better chance of beating her.)
amerpundit on January 5, 2008 at 10:38 PM
She and her organization are too hard to kill.
Nuke her now, nuke her often a drive a stake through the heart.
This whole thing of let’s wait till the general to do her in is a major tactical error.
If we take her out now, what have they left Silky and the wonder boy , and neither impress.
CommentGuy on January 6, 2008 at 12:41 AM
I don’t believe he did. I suspect he’s saving the Republicans for Sunday night’s forum on Fox.
johnny dollar on January 6, 2008 at 12:49 AM
You know, this is all great theater, but when it comes down to the stretch, none of these Dems has the juice to win. There’s a lot of excitement right now and a lot of talk about “change”, but come November I’ve got a hunch it’s gonna come down to “Holy Sh&t, I don’t want to get blown out of a skyscraper or an airplane”. In the end, safety is what the voters will want most, and these 4 a**kissers ain’t gonna keep no-one safe.
Tim Zank on January 6, 2008 at 12:53 AM
Hah! An opening to talk about the game today. I would have rather they said “Seattle won” instead of “Redskins lost,” but then the libs are always looking at the glass half empty.
The Seahawks looked great today, though Hasselbeck was a little off. The 4th quarter was wild with the momentum swings back and forth from one sideline to another. When the Redskins missed the 30 yard field goal, the entire stadium gave a collective sigh of relief. When Trufaunt returned the interception for a TD, the rafters were shaking.
I couldn’t tell you how loud the stadium sounded because the section where I sat was so noisy, I couldn’t hear beyond that. As soon as I get all the hearing back in my right ear, I’ll feel better. Wonder how Mike Sellers’ ears are doing?
On to Green Bay for a playoff rematch from a few years ago. Matt “we want the ball, and we’re going to score” Hasselbeck will have to be sharper if they are going to beak the Packers and head for the NFC championship game. Go Hawks!
Mallard T. Drake on January 6, 2008 at 12:53 AM
Man I need glasses I actually read that as Hillary only displays it during Ron Paul.
William Amos on January 6, 2008 at 12:55 AM
Obama will be harder to beat. But Obama will be better for this country than Hillary. I’d rather lose to Obmama than lose to Hillary, for damn sure.
Obama, as Barnet writes in Democratic Voters to Nutroots: Take a Long Virtual Walk Off a Short Virtual Pier, may rescue the Democrat party. Call me unrealistic, but for now, I’m giving it hopes.
petefrt on January 6, 2008 at 12:59 AM
I think the point has been made already that her organization is ridiculously strong, so I’m not sure Obama would be harder…
I know he has charisma but boots on the ground still matters a great deal.
John_Locke on January 6, 2008 at 1:10 AM
Thanks, Johnny.
aero on January 6, 2008 at 1:11 AM
No, Ron Paul would be playing the part of Dr. McCoy: “Dammit, Jim, I’m a doctor, not a diplomat!”
Captain Scarlet on January 6, 2008 at 1:30 AM
I loved the woman in the Frank Luntz video who said “I want to hear what she has to say, but she deafens my ears…”
Show of hands, men, who have ever thought the same of your spouse during a difference of opinion…
I thought so.
(Oops. Did I type that out loud?)
Captain Scarlet on January 6, 2008 at 1:32 AM
It occurs to me that yet another telling moment for Obama tonight was when Hillary played the gender card as the vultures were circling, and he *didn’t* play the race card to trump her. Good for him.
LagunaDave on January 6, 2008 at 1:58 AM
When are they gonna get to the part when they define what changes they mean?
malkinmania on January 6, 2008 at 5:52 AM
Hillary is toast – Obama pwn3d her completely with three softly spoken words.
Wind Rider on January 6, 2008 at 6:42 AM
You played it for him.
The Race Card on January 6, 2008 at 7:12 AM
I agree with you LD. Decades of watching Black Dem. politicians do that has become sickening, predictable, and utterly useless. And he certainly didn’t “play it”, by mentioning it, “Race Card.” He, and I’d guess tens of millions of others had the same thought at the same time, that it’s refreshing that Obama’s not playing typical, overt, Democrat identity politics– even if so many of his retarded guilty white liberal supporter are.
btw, what does you s/n mean?
JiangxiDad on January 6, 2008 at 9:10 AM
N.H. voters the most sophisticated this man has ever dealt with??? The simple fact they are supporting Socialists for POTUS exclude them from even having common sense!
dandy on January 6, 2008 at 9:52 AM
Agreed. Take her out now, waiting for the general election will be like handling serpents. Besides, I am looking forward to sending an email to her camp saying: “Nanny nanny boo boo!” [queue maniacal laughter]
You just know when she loses the nomination that schadenfreude will taste so SWEET!
traderdfw on January 6, 2008 at 9:52 AM
Senator Obama scores a touchdown with a 2 point conversion with his switching back and forth between football and debate remark. He is a very likable man, it is a shame he is so far left with his views.
Wade on January 6, 2008 at 9:55 AM
He means “Bush administration.”
drjohn on January 6, 2008 at 9:57 AM
Re: Luntz
I remember a month or two ago that Luntz was talking up Fred Thompson, how he won the debate, his focus group participants were loving him, etc., etc. Meanwhile, Fred continues to be exactly where everyone has predicted he’d be in these polls. Did he do great in Iowa? Is he going to do great in NH? I really have to take what Luntz and his group of voters say with a grain of salt. Fascinating? Yes. But I wonder if these are just the visceral reactions, and then the voters think more about it and vote another way. If Luntz is so great, why didn’t he detect the McCain bounce in NH? All I remember is him saying McCain is finished.
asc85 on January 6, 2008 at 10:39 AM
Agent of change… hhmmmm. The only change our next president should bring is to remove most the dam democrats from congress. Because without removing the corruption from congress there ain’t gonna be a dam thing change in our favor.
Griz on January 6, 2008 at 10:57 AM
Why is it taking so long for this country to tire of the Clintons? In the past, I could chuckle when when screaming Hill and goofy Bill would pop up on the TV or radio. Now, they annoy the living daylights out of me. They are so boring with their platitudes and sound bites. It’s the boredom, stupid! Is it possible that demoncrats are getting tired of these bozos?
saved on January 6, 2008 at 9:43 PM
Good grief, people!!!
We’re electing a PRESIDENT…not choosing a camp buddy!!!
This whole segment seems to be a contest to see who can be more vacuous: the questioner or the candidates!
Isn’t there even ONE mature, thinking, substantive person left in either the press or the Democratic party?
landlines on January 6, 2008 at 10:46 PM
Is it just me or did that moderator have the exact wave resonance in his voice that one identifies with “annoying bootlicking puke.” How does a man with a voice that grating and a receded hairline go anywhere in the media. Oh yeah, he’s a liberal…
