You can, you have the right to, and you should. Because you’re a voter, not the candidate. Same as term limits. If voters want lifetime pols. gone, vote them out. If voters want billionaires excluded, exclude them. But Whineabee can’t.

You know, I really was of the mind to give Huckabee the benefit of the doubt after his strong performance in the YouTube debate.

Lately, I’m starting to hate the guy a little. It doesn’t approach the all-consuming loathing I feel for John Edwards, but if Huck keeps pulling this butter-wouldn’t-melt-in-my-mouth-and-my-poop-don’t-stink garbage, I’m going to start hoping for an unfortunate incident in which Chuck Norris goes sleepwalking and accidentally roundhouse-kicks the daylights out of him.

I found it, read it, and excerpted it here. I don’t believe that particular comparison is that accurate. I would equate it more to seatbelt laws. The entire concept, as I try to demonstrate with the above quotation, is more Rovian than I like. That being the concept that the populace is now dependent on governmental services and instead of scaling them back, they are simply run better by R’s than D’s. I don’t advocate that, though I acknowledge it’s popularity. A deeper analysis will have to wait for another day.

I don’t mean to get you in the middle of this, but I think it’s only fair that you see what I have to say on this situation.

Forgive me if I pass. The issue is between the two of you. If I read more on it, my opinion of at least one and possibly both of you will decline. No one is served by that. Whatever it is, the issue is between the two of you.

By the way, I answered you earlier on the Romney health care issue and apologized for misunderstanding what you meant.

I agree. You are the only one in the position to make your own judgments in regard to the specifics of the issue to which you referred. I can understand it though, there are some here, one who called me a traitor for example, that I do not response to either. It’s a waste of time, energy, and intellect. I do not mean to place myself in position of judge or jury on the specific situation, but rather wanted to speak to the environmental aspect.

There are many here who’ll vote for the conservative nominee, and there are a few who are welded to their candidates. I like some more than others but will vote for 99% of them, in the end. Most sad is the state of the party. The next few months will be more clarifying, one hopes. Personally, I can report that life is good, due to enormous efforts/rewards, no matter who wins. I fight out of idealism, also guilty as self-charged. Maybe it comes across too passionately.

Then there are the barbes – if we throw them we must accept them. I for one am tough enough to do so.

The comment I refer to below is from 8:42 in the thread you referenced above.

It seems inevitable, frankly, that tempers will flare and they are being draw on candidate lines, as one might expect. However, you are drawing a distinction, intentional or not, of moral superiorness on one side by labeling at least one outside your referenced group as snotty and snooty. However, to the dispassionate observer, one must conclude that such behavior is also within that referenced group and the mere nature of your generous behavior gives it cover.

If I may draw a comparison. The most legitimate complaint of the old CS was that anti-Fred vitrol made it into almost every thread, it became unavoidable. We see similar behavior now with regard to scorn of Mitt on something that was absurdly blown out of proportion. (I mention this as it was recent, there are more vicious examples in the vault). He made a bad move politically but instead of accepting or criticizing that, it has become an issue of ignoring common language uses. Because it is was not left in the thread and carries on and on, genuine irritation and animosity builds up. This is no excuse for any uncivilized behavior by anyone toward you. But I mention it because when you claim them and praise that as wit you put yourself in the line of fire and enable that. Perhaps you do that for your own reasons of which I am not familiar, but because you are known as a generous person and a moderator of sorts it creates an imbalance that by force of nature must rectify itself to regain the level. The laws of physics will not be denied. If you do not enable it, it will equilibrate more quickly.

You are welcome to any measure of disagreement with me on this subject you think fitting, because I do not say that to be critical; rather you seem worthy of my honest appraisal.
