Each county in Illinois has an elected State’s Atorney, they are not “Illinois State’s Attorneys”. In this matter, it would be the Cook County State’s Attorney responsible for the prosecution. The update at B5′s article relates that the ASA (Assistant State’s Attorney) who has this matter is on the ball.

Please do not contact the Illinois Attorney General, as they really don’t have much to do with criminal matters (the names in this State, for our offices, are deceiving). When I was an ASA (NOT in Cook County, ha!) we used to have folks from the AG come to us for a little while as part of a program to do any kind of misdemeanor or traffic trial they could get their hands on, so as to preserve some of their skills…

This requires another “John and Ken”-esque campaign, like they did with the Trevor Law Group.

There are some things rats won’t do, indeed.

Translation: we parasites protect our own – even when it’s a douchebag parasite who needs his @ass kicked.

So, BlackFive’s conclusion of “We can win this one clean and fair – one way or another…” is erroneous. A Lawyer’s parasite’s main function is not to facilitate justice, but to provide a steady flow of BIG BUCKS into the wallet.

The wronged marine’s best recourse is probably small claims court because a monetary judgment is the only thing lawyers parasites understand.

So would filling a squirt gun with brake cleaner and using it to write uncomplimentary things on his car. Brake cleaner’ll eat right through paint, you know, so don’t do it.

Seriously, retaliatory acts of vandalism would weaken the case for real justice (via the state Bar Associaion and/or Attorney General). If and only if those avenues failed would there be any justification at all for evening things up.

The Bar association should take care of this major a-hole, he’s an officer of the court and subject to a higher standard of conduct.

Don’t let a few bad apples make you think the whole profession is corrupt. Most of the lawyers I know are very professional people. No one likes to see a bad lawyer get his due more than an honest lawyer. They made us memorize “To Kill a Mockingbird” for crying out loud!
