A video like this one, 17 minutes of Fred addressing voters directly via the camera, forces viewers to ask a few basic questions. One, is what he is saying true and is he saying it clearly enough so that it makes sense? Second, does what he’s saying reflect my values and does he have a record of sticking to those values? Third, does he make a plausible president?

I suppose what it comes down to is this: Fred Thompson has said in detail what he wants to do as President and how he wants to do it. Forget everything else - his campaign style, his age, his wife, all the frivolous crap - and ask yourself if you want to see what Fred Thompson has said he wants to do if he’s elected President. If your answer is yes, then he’s your candidate.

I Googled the quote, and it seemed to be related to the 1932 movie, “Freaks,” where the freaks warn the audience at the end that they are freaks, too. Your words, “Veiled reference warning:” at the time seemed to me to refer to what I said, in other words, that I was making a veiled warning, by saying that others believed the same as I, instead of what you meant, which was that meant that your quote was the veiled warning.
Damn, I hate to have to explain how wires get crossed. :)

I’m not really ‘here’. I am just trying to spread this story around to get this Marine some publicity so he can get some proper legal help. He has to report on the 2nd to Camp Pendleton, so he basically needs the help by tomorrow. There are already many working on his behalf through many channels, I just wanted to help out in the little way I could. My mom is a legal secretary in Chicago for Jones Day, so I am going to see if she has any advice I can pass along beyond what has been given already at Blackfive. Matt Burden is also contacting the media to get this scumbag lawyer some publicity he does not want.
On topic, with regards to the primaries and the campaign, I have been following HotAir’s coverage, and the comments sometimes, but I don’t really have the patience for a lot of the discussion that takes place here anymore. You know my feelings about the campaign, whom I support and what I support. And you probably know the last time I was here, I was deemed a drama queen for criticizing a major blog scandal over a Presidential candidate not putting on a hat. That was really the last straw for me here, after trying to stay patient with a lot of other things I felt were ridiculous. I kept a log of the people on that hat thread who seemed reasonable and were not going off half cocked about the situation and now I just search for their comments on threads. Especially MB4’s, as, even though we disagree on some issues of the war effort and on some religious issues, I like his no BS, no nonsense take on things.
Anyway, I miss the discussion here (in most cases), but my patience is wearing thin with some of the BS and so now I just read around the web and then post my thoughts on my own site when it suits me. Has helped me keep my sanity and not allow me to make a fool of myself (most times) and make people think I am a drama queen.
