Yep. Any rich person who expresses concern for poverty is a hypocrite. If they were really that serious about it they’d use millions out of their own pockets and run for president on a platform focusing on easing social inequalities and poverty….psh hypocrites

I’m sure someone here would be delighted to help you out on that. Unfortunately its a little late in this thread though and not too many people will see your question. I have a sneaky suspicion though that there will be another Edwards post sometime in the near future. Try to get that question in early. I’m sure you will get some good and detailed answers.

That’s what I think. He’s certainly the most obvious demagogue of any of the major candidates.

Big corporations that produce jobs, pay taxes and produce goods are bad

Big union run government, that produces many useless jobs, pays no taxes and produces next to nothing next to the cost to keep them open are good.

John Edwards KNOWS they’re stealing…cause he channeled the unborn children and they told him so!!!

If anyone steals futures, it’s trial lawyers…

I get involved as an expert in construction litigation cases. There are too many plaintiff attorneys who take a single issue and turn it in to the opportunity to sue the general contractor and architect for every little tiny little thing, whether it is a defect or not. This results in 10 different subcontractors being sued, which means 10 different insurance companies and their laywers are now involved, each of whom has their own expert.

In the end, most of the garbage gets mediated out, the plaintiff may or may not receive enough money to fix the original problem, and hundreds of thousands of dollars have been spent on attorney and expert fees. The end result is higher insurance rates for the contractors and higher bids on projects to cover new insurance rates, thus the consumer is paying more for the product but not getting more as the extra costs go to “overhead” and not services.

And all this is due to lawyers trying to maximize a legal complaint instead of protecting the rights of their client.

So, the hypocrisy of John Edwards is that trial lawyers do not necessarily make our lives better, but they do make the costs of goods and services rise. Edwards himself has taken money out of the pocket of the working man he so “courageously” wants to defend and protect. He may be the most dangerous of the Dims big three.

If anyone steals futures, it’s trial lawyers who sue corporations into bankruptcy over human errors, thereby enriching themselves and to a lesser extent their clients while costing many other innocent people their jobs. But you’ll never hear anything like that from Edwards, either

Long gone are the days when you could trust people to have the self disipline not to defraud insurance companies with fake claims. The honor system if you will is dead. I blame the corrupt trial lawyers. One of Bushes campaign promises was for much needed tort reform. Remember? Lawyers are now running the Democratic party.
