Depends on how they fill out their 990, I think. I imagine since he passed it straight on through to his own church, he could argue it was a gift which went directly from church to church. In my mind, that isn’t as touchy as the churches who have lent themselves to some pretty straight campaign language, such as Obama’s church. IIRC, Hillary also got in on a little bit of that type action, but I can’t recall when or where. In the south, I believe.
