Open thread: Cowboys at Panthers

posted at 8:36 pm on December 22, 2007 by Bryan

Lots of side stories in this one. Star QB coming off a horrible game, and he has an injured thumb. If you can believe the press, locker room intrigue. Unhappy TO. Replacement center. No Roy Williams. And on the Panthers side, an undrafted rookie QB who won his first start last week against the Seahawks.

If you don’t get NFL Network, you can watch online here.

Leave Jess at home! ha!

Lovin’ all the masks and fat duded with blonde wiggers.

SouthernPride on December 22, 2007 at 8:50 PM

Move over Romo. The NFC title belongs to the big boys in the Bay.

conservnut on December 22, 2007 at 9:01 PM

Madison….don’t be counting on Jessica to help you down here. She was at the GB/Dal game.

Limerick on December 22, 2007 at 9:01 PM

Hmmm, seems my Chargers are playing the Denver Broncos on Christmas Eve. A win sure would be a nice Christmas present.

doriangrey on December 22, 2007 at 9:03 PM

Jessica in a cheerleader outfit? Sign me up!

I’d prefer an Eagle cheerleader outfit than the cowboys, though…. for all SORTS of reasons.

Vanceone on December 22, 2007 at 9:04 PM

Limerick, we got Deanna Favre.

Nuff said.

MadisonConservative on December 22, 2007 at 9:05 PM

Madison…I have a sister-in-law in Milwaukee. We have been fighting since the last game.

Limerick on December 22, 2007 at 9:07 PM

Maybe when you see you’re pulling for a bunch of Cowgirls, the fight will end.

MadisonConservative on December 22, 2007 at 9:07 PM

Glad to see we have a running game again

MadisonConservative on December 22, 2007 at 9:19 PM

what the hell was that? That fade was five story arc and the coverage just stopped the pursuit. grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

doriangrey on December 22, 2007 at 9:03 PM

As a lifelong Denver Broncos fan, I hereby forfeit that game to the Chargers. And if they win, My Christmas would be ruined.

My Donkeys have no business being on the field this year.

conservnut on December 22, 2007 at 9:26 PM

Don’t like to see a player get injured… even if it’s someone like TO.

That said- HP for the win if Brees has a good game on Sunday.

Hollowpoint on December 22, 2007 at 9:34 PM

wccawa on December 22, 2007 at 9:23 PM

ROTFLOL…Thats exactly how I felt about the Chargers at the beginning of the season. Now however it looks like they just might have a shot at the playoffs.

Hollowpoint on December 22, 2007 at 9:34 PM

Don’t look like he is hurt that bad.

conservnut on December 22, 2007 at 9:36 PM

I am a little worried about what the loss of TO does to the passing game though. Coverage is going to get tighter

conservnut on December 22, 2007 at 9:38 PM

Yeah. But with Witten and Crayton they will be ok. My concern is they just don’t look…I dunno…erm…tight? Just like last week they seem hurried. TO will be OK. He better be as we will need him for the Skins.

Limerick on December 22, 2007 at 9:42 PM

I am a little worried about what the loss of TO does to the passing game though. Coverage is going to get tighter

conservnut on December 22, 2007 at 9:38 PM

Two words: Marion Barber.

With Flozell Adams leading the way and Jason Witten clearing the road.

Go sit down, T.O. We don’t need you. I like Crayton better anyway.

As for sweet, sweet Jessica: y’all did hear them mention that she was in the stands for that awesome Green Bay game, right? Last week was a fluke.

Not wearing that bikini, though. Life is unfair.

Professor Blather on December 22, 2007 at 9:44 PM

Doesn’t sound good for TO, hopefully, the Panthers can take advantage and get some much needed points. At least Carolina gets the ball back.

TimboJackson on December 22, 2007 at 9:45 PM

Maybe Carolina can get some pads on John Edwards during the half.

Limerick on December 22, 2007 at 9:47 PM

Limerick on December 22, 2007 at 9:47 PM

The helmet would destroy that silky goodness of his.

Would it be worth $400?

Professor Blather on December 22, 2007 at 9:50 PM

Not wearing that bikini, though. Life is unfair.

Professor Blather on December 22, 2007 at 9:44 PM

Indeed it is Professor, indeed it is.

My concern is that without TO the coverage tightens up, a lot!

Tony is going to have more pressure and going to have to tighten up the throws.

conservnut on December 22, 2007 at 9:52 PM

Thanks for putting the patriotic Jess pic. on the front page Bri. I put that same pic. on my 17 yr. old son’s comment section on his MySpace. His friends now think I’m a cool Mom.

Hey, she’s a Texan. We love her as long as she don’t interfere with the Cowboy game.

Limerick on December 22, 2007 at 9:54 PM

Yep, the D. looks half dead.

SouthernPride on December 22, 2007 at 9:55 PM

Well, I had hi hopes my Boys would be in the Super Bowl this year. But they just haven’t looked like they did earlier in the season. I’m a bit concerned.

SouthernPride on December 22, 2007 at 9:57 PM

Dang, that coverage sucks

conservnut on December 22, 2007 at 9:58 PM

Brady takes notes….D secondary is slacking.

Nice play calling there by Carolina. Are they sure which end zone they were heading for?

Kowboy on December 22, 2007 at 10:05 PM

My dream scenario….
Pats go unbeaten and go to Super Bowl.
Dallas gets their doo-doo together and gets to the Big Bowl.

Dallas hands the Pats their only defeat of the season….the Super Bowl! HAHHAHAHAHA!

Ok, I can dream about it, can’t I?

Hey Bryan, THANK YOU for this link. My Dad gave away my ticket to this game and it isn’t on regular TV.

MERRY CHRISTMAS to me! with this link. No commercials on NFL.com Live streaming. That’s great and how it should be . . . if you can’t be there that is!

Thanks again.

No we didn’t, good coverage!

????

How does a 67 million dollar man have girl problems?

Limerick on December 22, 2007 at 10:53 PM

Fake bandwagon fans???

Buddy, I was born in 1960, the year the team was started. And from the Dandy Don days I was a Cowboy fan.

I have suffered and cheered for 40+ years for my boys, so don’t call me a fake bandwagon fan.

conservnut on December 22, 2007 at 10:54 PM

How does a 67 million dollar man have girl problems?

Limerick on December 22, 2007 at 10:53 PM

Depends on the girl I guess.

conservnut on December 22, 2007 at 10:56 PM

Thats exactly how I felt about the Chargers at the beginning of the season. Now however it looks like they just might have a shot at the playoffs

.

Well, let’s see. We have the Chiefs. We have the Raiders. We have the Broncos. We have the Chargers.

Truth be told, everyone on ALL those teams should be lined up against a wall and shot, but since the NFL doesn’t include that in their rule book, it seems that ONE of those teams should wind the division. Eh?

I think your Chargers get the dubious honor this year.

PS: I’ll always hate the Raiders. Just to get that straight.

It’s an AFC West thing. You’d have to be at least 40 years old and have your blood full of life-altering hate to understand. ;)

He’s big enough to take a clean hit!

conservnut on December 22, 2007 at 10:54 PM

Hey “buddy” did I call you out by name or something? I don’t think I did. You seem a bit sensitive to me. Fine, you are a Cowboy lifer, but you can’t deny that there are countless more who come out of the woodwork when the team contends. So I ask again, who has more wannabe fans? Steelers or Cowpunks?

Dirthead on December 22, 2007 at 11:06 PM

I can’t stand listening to Bryant Gum-ball. He’s the absolute worst announcer ever.

Agreed.

How does a 67 million dollar man have girl problems?

If he’s not careful, girl problems could turn him into a 33.5 million dollar man.

Pablo on December 22, 2007 at 11:08 PM

This one is in the tank for the Cowboys, officiating changed the game.

Moore throws a nice ball for a rookie
