Funny money at the Clinton Library
posted at 10:58 am on December 21, 2007 by Bryan
Here’s today’s must-read on Clinton corruption. We’re finally beginning to learn a few things about the people who have put $500 million toward the Clinton presidential library and political favors emporium. I’m sure you’ll be as surprised as I was to learn that a bunch of them tend to want something that only a connected politician can provide.
The New York Times has compiled the first comprehensive list of 97 donors who gave or pledged a total of $69 million for the Clinton presidential library in the final years of the Clinton administration. The examination found that while some $1 million contributors were longtime Clinton friends, others were seeking policy changes from the administration. Two pledged $1 million each while they or their companies were under investigation by the Justice Department.
Other donations came from supporters who had been ensnared in campaign finance scandals surrounding Mr. Clinton’s 1996 re-election campaign.
Such as:
William A. Brandt Jr., a bankruptcy lawyer in Chicago and prolific Democratic fund-raiser, pledged $1 million in May 1999. At the time, the Justice Department was investigating Mr. Brandt’s testimony to Congress about a $10,000 per couple fund-raiser he had held for the president’s 1996 re-election campaign. At issue was whether he had lied when he denied promoting it as an explicit opportunity to lobby a top bankruptcy official at the event.
In August 1999, the Justice Department determined that “prosecution is not warranted.” Mr. Brandt, who is now a Hillraiser, did not respond to several phone and e-mail messages.
Read the whole thing. And don’t put these people back in the White House.

Man, its like a bad flashback. Please tell me the rest of America is sick of this same old story with the Clintons.
I just hope she gets the nomination. There is no way she will win.
Unless, of course, I am underestimating the voters’ intelligence again. After all, I did it for 8 years in the 1990s.

Highly suspect donations to the Clenus’ Presidential library and massage parlor? I’M SHOCKED… SHOCKED I TELL YOU!!

The American people will never elect Hillary Clinton president.
Labamigo on December 21, 2007 at 11:11 AM
Which is why I’ve been wondering if the GOP should be attacking her as much. She gets the nom, we have a better shot of taking her down than we do Obama.

I can’t believe the NYT didn’t make a bigger deal of the changing story. Yes I can. But come on, that is so dishonest of the Clintons.

A right wing pundit on Hammity and Bones brought up the pesky stains too.
It goes beyond my comprehension why anyone would want HillyBilly back in Our House, (unless of course they had some vested interest and they relate to the their powerlust and lack of morals).

No quid pro quos here. Nothing to see. Move along please.
I just hope Obama stops being Mr. Nice Guy at one point and takes the Clintons on. It will be much more effective if the criticism comes from that side of the aisle.

I will pray to God every night
that you perhaps will be right.
But if your wrong and she prevails
I’ll be on the next boat that sails.

How much of that money came from Saudi Arabia for looking the other way throughout the 90s?

When people say this I’m always curious where they think the grass is still greener. My search hasn’t turned up anything yet. So if you don’t mind, tell me.

Pretty sure they kicked in heavy for Bush Sr.’s library too.

If someone points a loaded gun at my head, and assures me that the safety on on, it can’t go off, I’m not going to feel particularly relaxed. It’s still loaded and potentially deadly. If she gets the nomination, there could be a bang. Scares the heck out of me.

True, true. Sadly.
How much did Jim Baker get, you think?

Half a Billion dollars? How much does it cost to build a building where all the books are blank?

So many twists and turns, dead ends, switchbacks, turnabouts, and false trails. Exactly like Bill planned it. By the time anyone can get through the maze it won’t matter anymore. Unless someone near the top of the food chain talks it all goes nowhere.
To Rightwingers this is their Bob Woodward dream. Figure out the conspiracy of lies. Have ‘Deep Throat’ meet em in a parking garage with the proof. Hillary losing the Presidency just might crack the egg. If she goes down, so does their ‘contract’.
You have to hand it to ol Bill, he has gamed the system to perfection. She is far from defeated in this election. This whole ‘the champ is on the ropes’ thing is balony.

Makes ya wonder how much more documentation is needed before the “‘murrican” public (left side) gets the message “sunk in” enough to turn away from the Clintons. Jeez. Crooked leading the blind? The left runs on emotion, not clear reasoning.
Still like the pic of Billy Jeff “checkin’ out the lady”, LOL!
Roger Brown on December 21, 2007 at 12:02 PM
You think so? I think he wants her to lose, actually. Won’t be upstaged and all that. But he can’t get caught doin’ it, or she’ll divorce him–sooner, that is. So maybe he’s “gaming the system” in a different way. What you y’all think?

i wish Obama or Edwards would ask Hillary about the presence of Sandy the Burgler on her staff as an unpaid advisor. I assume they are holding back to ensure a fallback VP or Cabinet position if she picks up all the marbles

Just a figure of speech, but Oklahoma is looking good.

Somebody should do a search to see if anybody who got a pardon from Clinton or any family member of someone who got a pardon made a donation to the Clinton library/foundation.
If so, then Hillary should be asked if she thinks this is acceptable. Not one reporter in the MSM has asked Hillary: Did you agree with the pardons that Bill Clinton made on his way out the White House door? Nobody in the MSM will ask this second question to Hillary: Mrs. Clinton: Your husband issued a pardon for a man who was under a federal indictment who skipped bail and moved to Switzerland? Do you agree with this pardon? Would you state right now that you will not issue any pardons for persons who are under federal indictment who have skipped bail?
Sadly, not one MSM reporter will ask Hillary this simple but important question. Instead she gets softballs from Katie Couric who asks: “Mrs. Clinton, what makes you lose your temper?”

Rhetorical question alert!
Why isn’t this on every campaign ad of every republican? Why isn’t this the lead story on EVERY F’ng TV news station?
Alden Pyle on December 21, 2007 at 1:00 PM
Alden, they ain’t got the gonads…and it would violate the MSM’s doctrine of “Seperation of Clintons From Reality”…
Roger Brown on December 21, 2007 at 1:38 PM
I TRUST that the RNC has put together a series of ads of nearly every major Democrat figure ripping Clinton a new one over the matter of Clinton’s pardons. Barbara Olsen gathered them together in her last book, The Final Days.
DEVASTATING!!!!!!!!!!!!
