If I am not mistaken, I believe that some years ago, Christopher Hitchens wrote the forward to a book which argued that the Holocaust either didn’t happen or was exaggerated.

Yeah but he didn’t do it because he supports the Holocaust but because he supports free speech and David Irving was imprisoned in Austria on the suspicion that he might deny the Holocaust. Mark Steyn holds to the same position as Hitchens on this issue, as do I.

Can’t defend the anti-Israel remarks though I would add that the only convincing anti-Israel article I’ve ever read was Hicthens’ piece Broadcasts in Blaming the Victims: Spurious Scholarship and the Palestinian Question ed. Edwards Said, Christopher Hitchens. Worth reading if only to challenge yourself.

There are plenty of current laws on the books that the left views as being oppresive if not a violation of their rights.

The left also thinks waterboarding is as bad as electrocution, eye removal, and drilling of the hands.

They were legislated with Christian principles in mind and can be traced directly to the bible. I basicaly have no problem with them becaused I have been following them to the best of my ability all my life.

As I’ve pointed out before, it’s a bit silly for someone to rail against religion with religious fervor. The only claim sillier than saying you know there is a great invisible being in the sky who controls everything, is saying you know there isn’t.

I like Hitch, and I’m not religious at all. I can still get pissed off at the mudslinging at a religion that has done little to deserve it in modern times. For all you DUers lurking, no, I’m not referring to Islam.

Although I do believe there is a place for Christianity in politics in the form of principles such as ethics, honesty and telling the truth. Once upon a time ,long ago and far away………………………

However, I like Christmas, Christmas Carols, Christmas Specials, Christmas Football and Christmas Presents. Christmas is the ultimate holiday. Seeing as how I made sure I would get what I wanted, this may well be the Christmas ever.
