Did this win because it was showing the abuse of children by a UNICEF photographer (I thought the contest was about children suffering), or did UNICEF think it was awesome that some child is the sexual slave/property of some old, creepy Muslim?
I’m naive and thought the photo was meant to show the horror of the situation when I read the contest results.

Anyone who is opposed to child marraige is an Islamophobe. The Prophet Mohammad (Propellor Beanie Upon Him) had a child bride, as did several of his original followers. Polygamy, slavery, lapidation, public beatings for moral improprieties and child marraige are, in fact, sacred institutions for 1400 years of Islamic history, and are enshrined by the Words of Allah Himself in the Holy Quran. Again we see Western imperialism trying to force the pious believers to abandon their ways.
