Gov. Mike Huckabee appeared on the Larry King Show Monday night to talk about his surging campaign and issues that have cropped up, such as his 1992 statement on AIDS quarantine/isolation. There isn’t much here that we haven’t heard before.
He defends his criticism of the Bush administration’s “bunker mentality.”
Here’s what he has to say about that AIDS statement.
Saving the best for last, Huck deploys Chuck. If you don’t like one, fear the other. They discuss Huckabee’s surge and why he’s attracting criticism now.
Update: Look what the dumpster divers have turned up in Huckabee’s 1992 plans.

I think the word you’re looking for there is “eradicate.” Irradiating would kill any anthrax that might be living in the cocaine, though. That’s something.

I fear no Chuck Norris, for I am on the side of John Bolton and Fred Thompson.

Huck meets a dinosaur…
hey, I thought he didnt believe in evolution.
Always Right on December 18, 2007 at 1:35 PM
He won’t second guess the generals on the ground but will second guess the juries in the courtroom. Ok. Got it.
Limerick on December 18, 2007 at 1:35 PM
Sorry about that. It’s fixed now.

“There’s a lot of political dumpster diving going on”.
Translation: Surprisingly, there are people interested in my actual record.
If he thinks this is bad and mudflinging, how can he deal with the Democrats in the general? He currently has the media promoting him. When he gets to the general, it’ll be the opposite.

Chuck Norris….fine man, like the guy, but he hardly brings gravitas to the campaign. This kind of ‘testimony’ isn’t going to help Huckabee out.

If anyone is interested, entire interview is here.

A typo from 1992? That’s embarrassing.
I thought his comments on question 224-227 of how electronic democracy necessarily involves television illustrates just how far back people are reaching.

Of course, based upon that 1992 statement, he may just want to nuke the suppliers?

I’m trying to figure out what the above comment is supposed to mean. Dinosaurs were created the same time as man, and are mentioned in the Bible (I.e. leviathon).

Huckleberry is a Clintonista plot.

In that first video, he says
1. have a clear definable objective
2. go in with overwhelming force
3. once you engage, don’t allow pols to second guess it to death, and make sure you continue to support the troops on the ground.
How is any of that a defense/explanation for the arrogant bunker mentality statement?

Can you imagine a President Fred and a Secretary of State Bolton? Whoa. Look out commies!

If you are trying to get people not to vote for Huckabee because we are sick of hearing his name, it’s worked on me.
For the love of God, find another subject.

Truth be told, all of the digging and negative commentary is probably helping Huckabee. If he gets the nomination, the Dems will have nothing left to dig up as he will have had months of air time to defend himself.
I am not saying we should not scrutinize his record. But I do think that we should also focus on emphasizing the positives of the canidates we do support.

Stop, I’m starting to drool…
Beautiful… Just beautiful!

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no Democrat, for JOHN! and FRED! will kick their @ss.
Frozen Tex on December 18, 2007 at 2:48 PM
He’s saying we didn’t go into Iraq with overwhelming force? How much less time than 3 weeks should it have taken us to win the military aspects of the war?
Attila (Pillage Idiot) on December 18, 2007 at 2:50 PM
Wow, he used the wrong word 15 years ago. How telling. Also, I assume you meant, “Do what to the drug supply?” Ironic.
Can’t we stick to actual issues here? Too much attention is given to little “gotchas” in general, and this is one of the silliest.

Geez, thicken up that skin a little bit. I’m just goofing on the guy.

That’s excellent! Now I have to clean my keyboard – thanks.

No thanks necessary; it’s what I’m here for.

Nuke the drug lords!
Whoa. A cowboy.

when i was a sprout of a musician, i met a fellow from arkansas that played a lot of “tux” gigs. he told me a totally unverifiable anecdote about the Clintons entering separately and leaving at different times with different people.
Party on, Wayne!
(crooks and swingers. way to parlay, Bill!)
