Christian and Jewish groups need to go to the administration and demand ‘meditation rooms’ which conform to their religions.

Then, when it isn’t granted, bring lawsuits. They won’t win, but it might force the college to remove the Islamic trappings and turn the room back into a non-denominational area.

Though since the college used public money to build something for a specific religion, and that’s illegal (that is illegal — or am I getting forgetful in my old age?), why isn’t anyone suing already? Or at least threatening to?

Maybe Minnesota made Islam their official state religion and no one noticed?

This makes perfect sense to me being that I live in MN. I would like to add that MN is my adopted state. Thank God I wasn’t born here, but unfortunatley my kids were. The people in this state are so STUPID!!! Some of them are still driving around with Paul Wellstone bumper stickers. After next years elections you can say hello to Senator Al Franken. When my wife retires in a couple of years, if not sooner, we are outta here.

If the college Prez said any words to the effect that “of course anyone can use the meditation room,” i wonder if there isnt one small band of brave non-pc types at the school willing to make sure “anyone” can in fact, do so.
how soon before islamic students at this school or elsewhere say they dont want women in the classroom as students or teachers coz it offends them?

i predict that we’ll see this start to play out all over the country.

I have no problem with people using a classroom or whatever as a temporary place of worship, but I wonder had the students been Catholic and turned the library into a temp church would there have been a huge uproar from the liberal students? I say yes.

I live pretty close to Normandale and this does not surprise me. Nothing really surprises me anymore of what public colleges do. I begin to wonder if things are done to please certain groups of people, or to spit in the face of others.

Was this meditation room (or the previous one) given to Muslim students as a gift to them, or was it given to spite those which would never receive a gift such as this (Jews and Christians?)

Well, it was probably given out of fear I guess.

To be honest, if the non-Muslim students aren’t willing to organize a worship/meditation group to go in and do what they want to do, the Muslims win by default and all the ouside criticism doesn’t mean a thing. Turning the other cheek always has a downside.
