Keep hope alive: Al Qaeda in Iraq has regrouped, says Reid

Well, true enough, in the sense that they’ve run to Diyala to get away from the Sunnis and Shia who keep killing them in Baghdad and Anbar. But as Captain Ed says, to mention that “regrouping” without mentioning what precipitated it seems a tad over-nuanced even by Dingy’s exquisitely nuanced standards.
Maybe he meant Sadr?
Update: I guess we can blame Al Qaeda’s “regrouping” for this new influx of war funding.

I see he’s still working on getting that 11% approval rating down.

Denial is a beeyatch, Mr. Reid. What total waste of oxygen.
SouthernGent on December 18, 2007 at 9:56 PM
He’s probably in his office, beating up on his staffers: “Dammit, find me a way to put a negative spin on Iraq NOW!”
rmgraha on December 18, 2007 at 9:58 PM
War is not a succession of mere episodes in a day or week. It is a long drawn out and intracate business, and the longer it continues the heavier are the demands on the character of the men engaged in it.

I’m beginning to wonder if Dingy Harry is Bilal Hussein’s godfather or something.
Zorro on December 18, 2007 at 10:16 PM
Well, OK if AQ is re-grouping then lets send another 50,000 troops.

He’s working hard to defeat the USA.
You lose again Harry. . . .

Harry “Weasdl Dick” Reid is unfit to serve as dog-catcher, much less Senator!

Harry Reid has decided that a winning formula
for the Dem’s election platform is not to deviate
from “the surge ain’t working”,and “We need to
surrender” talking points,so now he’s trying a
new angle,They’re “Regrouping”!
Harry talks about the Bush administration being in a
bubble,look who’s talking!
canopfor on December 18, 2007 at 10:21 PM
Well this is good news to me. I hate it when they are all scattered about and hard to find.
Dusty on December 18, 2007 at 10:26 PM
Regrouping? Now, wouldn’t that give us more reasons to stay and fund the troops?
Hmmm, Reid between the lines.

I don’t get it. I understand that the Las Vegas unions want a nanny stater/socialist in their Senate seat. Makes perfect sense. I don’t agree with them but hey…they are looking out for their dole money. But Reid? Mr.Tailbetweenhisspandex? Nevada…paisan! what are you thinking?

Neocon Peg on December 18, 2007 at 10:48 PM
Maybe Dingy Reid will meet with the same fate that that other Senator from South Dakota, oh, what’s his name again, oh, yea, Tom uh, Daschle, met. Remember him?
Neocon Peg on December 18, 2007 at 10:53 PM
If Dingy Harry keeps this up, we may very well have the first Congress with an approval rating in the negatives.
ZK on December 18, 2007 at 11:07 PM
You folks have sure put up a mandate for good old Harry to address. I’ve been to both sides of the comments on Harry tonight and can’t find a single one in his defense or favor. Is it possible he’s brought the approval rating down to 0%? And if so, what does that mandate say to Harry?
Griz on December 18, 2007 at 11:07 PM
I have total contempt for Harry Reid. It’s a disgrace that he’s in a position of “leadership” in our country.
CP on December 18, 2007 at 11:07 PM
An eloquent bastard to the end. It is hard to conceive of a less American American (with friends like these…). But do not question his patriotism or his sanity as that is so un-American.

Reid is a nincompoop. I mean seriously. Does he actually get out and meet people when he goes back home these days? How do the people contain themselves from laughing at him?

I have gone past questioning his patriotism and I am now calling him the traitor he is.

What a sad pathetic life it must be, pinning his hopes and ambitions to the deaths and defeat of Americans…
TBinSTL on December 19, 2007 at 1:29 AM
What would this silly moron know about a terrorist organization he denies exists in Iraq? I would like the IRS to regroup and check out his decidedly shady land deals, than you.
pat on December 19, 2007 at 2:30 AM
Reid seems to me to be a man drastically out of his element. I’m sure he was a good soldier for the Dems and put in his time to get seniority, but he’s just not up to the task of delivering a message that works for the Dems.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I love lil’Harry for all the good things he does for Republicans and would hate to see him leave (because someone better might get his slot).
He really is quite the idiot when it comes to crafting messages though, isn’t he?

I wish Reid’s brain cells would regroup.
right2bright on December 19, 2007 at 8:29 AM
To a civillian the enemy may be regrouping, to a military man it is consolidating the enemy into a manageable battle space in which to engage and destroy. Why play ‘Whack a mole’ when you can just use a can of whup a*&?
LakeRuins on December 19, 2007 at 8:50 AM
Actually he’s from Searchlight, Nevada. The dhimm bulb from Searchlight. Only an idiot would think that the US Military having terrorists run to the same safe house is ‘regrouping’. What should be considered to be an opportunity to wipe them out in a single location is a detriment to Dirty Harry. I could carve a better man out of a banana.

I cannot even begin to express my contempt for this small, little man. In times not too far gone, someone would have thoroughly thrashed him for his seditious bloviating.
