Huckabee cannot be trusted on immigration. Anyone else can see this. Why not Gilchrist. It is my understanding the other minutemen were not happy with Gilchrist’s backing of Huckabee.

No public figure wants to look foolish so I doubt this was his plan. Undoubtedly Gilcrist caught so much flak from his endorsement of cHuckles that he was just looking for a face saving way to back out.

Allah was his usual sharp eyed self to catch that the author of the possible retraction article at WND is the same guy who co-authored Gilcrist’s book.

It doesn’t surprise me that a guy who was shopping his endorsement around, didn’t bother to do anything more than a cursory search of the candidate’s website, before one of them jumped up and said “yes, we’d like your endorsement”

The big hint should have been, that he had to ask each campaign if they wanted his endorsement, odds are the one that took him up on it needed what he might be able to bring, rather than being the best candidate.

Gilchrist was snookered. It does not say much for his intelligence and political acumen that he fell for a line that most intelligent persons could immediately see through or for any fact checking to see what Huckabee’s disgraceful past record has been on immigration. ptolemy on December 18, 2007 at 10:53 AM

As to the intended content of this thread, Gilchrist is either really dumb or really smart. One of two things:
1). He is a staunch opponent of illegal immigration and out of sheer stupidity announced his support for an illegal immigrant appologist candidate.
2). Figured out exactly how to damage an illegal immigrant apologist candidate the most. He announced his support in a nice public appearance. Waited a few days. Retracted his support in a public appearance claiming that he was ever having supported him was a mistake.

Anyway, he won’t be the nominee. we have to have FAITH!
